Sorry!
I've never regretted buying a FF plugin though, they are my most used by far (and like most people here I have a lot of plugins).
haha, i feel you
[note - i just edited that previous post for clarity. ff plugins are 25% off until july 1st.]
You literally needs just entire FabFilter bundle and with proper sound design / mixing knowledge there is literally NOTHING in this world you can't achieve with them. It keeps boggling my mind again and again how DEEP are those plugins. Amazing.
Thanks everyone. I guess this thread can also help others too.
Korvpressor is my go to.
I'll be honest, I just use the Bleass compressor. I'm not knowledgeable enough to hear, nor want my compressor to color my sound. I just want to manage dynamics.
@richardyot Thanks for all the info on Pro-C 3.. somehow I’d forgotten that they had a new version.. thanks to your enthusiasm + high praises, it now resides on my iPad.. and will be (ab)used to no end..
You're welcome - hope you enjoy it as much as I do
I love Bleass Reverb and delays, so maybe I may give it a go! Drambo compressor is not bad, too. I'm amazed how Drambo's effects, like the reverb and delays, are excellent.
Drambos Delay Rack is sooo good, it’s like Modley but you can use your own stuff in the loop 🤘 still need to check out the comp that Ben put up on patchstorage; it’s nice to see stuff popping up involving the code module!
I have that one and I can’t figure out its interface. It’s to different from a traditional compressor.
Even tho it's sort of multi FX app, I like the Transit 2 compressor, you can also add OTT as well.
I like korvpressor too, it's mad easy to use, if you spend one or two minutes looking at the manual, you'll understand, it's only got a couple of controls
Same here, thanks for all highly valuable infos here, especially the KVR dev infos were very helpful,
I went with the Pro C3 for 22,99 Euro, much more mojo as the Pro C2, so much possibilities going modern or vintage,
Thanks again, Goetz
I’ve been enjoying the SGA Kompresor lately.
Great timing, you got it on sale
English is not my first language and I hate when developers get creative with the terminology that everyone else use.
The squeeze control is that a ration of compression?
I use MBC from ToneBoosters…I really dig the preset “Reveal Details”, it definitely does that!
Both of them are phenomenal. So many sweet spots. Lovely compressors.
The stock compressor in NS2 is also very good.
And lately I am starting to like the stock ChannelStrip compressor in Cubasis 2.
I have FF as well, but don’t gel with it.
Schlap and Smoov still are my favourites.
Left field pick: Banshee Nano. Great on everything IMO.

I second this suggestion!!! RRS for the win!!
Pro C3 can be as transparent and surgical or colouring and gross as you want it to be. It is a beast. I think that's what can be called objectively a good compressor.
Enjoy your honeymoon!
Yes, Pro C3 is for me holy grail of compressors for that transparent/surgical part , no doubt.
Basically everythong from FabFilter is holy grail
I’ve used most of these Pro-C3 is amazing, but my latest choice is now the humble AU3Fx Push app. And the Blue Mangoo Compressor. They both sound really clean and smooth.
That Blue Mangoo compressor is a gem. Super clean, very similar to sound to ProC3 at its cleanest setting.
The Grinch here😊. Discussions like this often comes up on the LPF and other forums and shared knowledge is great, but it can be stressful as hell for someone new trying to get a grip of all the options around. It is important to remember one thing.
If you are new, any stock plugin in your DAW will work for starters. Do not spend a fortune on plugins iOS or desktop, unless you can really hear the difference or have such a trained ear you are after a specific sound character. Practice, record over and over again and eventually you will be able to hear what different tools really add to your music. But before that, just make music. Lots of music. A skilled musician or producer can make a mix sound good with any tools. Someone new often fall into the trap of believing that just because they use the tools a pro is using, their mixes or music will sound better. It will not simple as that, practice will. Practice and experience always beat new shiny toys so to speak.
To be honest, you and us audio nerds here are the only ones who maybe care about what specific compressor/EQ/whatever plugin you are using. In a released recording or live, exactly no one listening in the audience cares about the specific tools but the whole mix, that everything fits together and that it sounds good.
Boring truth? Yup, definitely. Just my two cents🙌.

In my experience a good mix is way more important than “mastering”.
😎✌🏼
What’s your take on Bogaudio Pressor? It’s what I use for clean compression.
Totally agree. Get it right at the source, both sound- and level-wise then most of us just need a basic amount of plugins of choice to polish, that’s all. But by all means, go wild with plugins if you are creative as long as you like the result😁. There is nothing wrong or right, and rules in music are always open to be broken.
