    True but excessive usage makes almost everything sound almost too smooth which is quite the opposite of Aphex Aural Exciter back in the days :sunglasses:

    Oh my... yes I remember there were a few cheap copy cat versions of the Aphex which was crazy expensive I think when it came out.

    One of them was described to me by a recording engineer friend as sounding like someone tearing up bits of tin foil inside your ears :smiley:

    But yeah, I think you're right, like any of these cool new things, they tend to get over-used / treated like a bandaid over what essentially is probably just a bad mix.

    Not as far as I know, FF Pro-Q 4 can do some dynamic spectral EQ:in to reduce harshness.

    I'm kinda surprised @BabyAudio @tristan hans't ported Smooth Operator Pro to iOS/iPadOS as it's more or less an 'open goal' without anything to really compete with at the moment :sunglasses:

    I think he's mostly looking at it from a lightweight mastering (my words not his) perspective with some of his own tracks, and some of what I've heard is absolutely EPIC so worth tuning in just for the music ;)
