Just a quick little TripHop piece to try and overcome this music creation block I've experienced the past few days. I like how it turned out. :)

So do I. For the uninitiated like me, what elements suggest “TripHop” vs. other categories?

Hmmm, good question. I always thought TripHop was electronics over a HipHop beat, and a certain vibe. ☺️ Of course others are welcome to give their interpretation.

  • Also @Schmotown TripHop often uses sampling techniques, and sometimes not. My favorite TripHop artists are Thievery Corporation, though I rarely sound like them and end up sounding like myself, which is a good thing. ☺️

  • Hi Jim, you have a writer's block? But a few days, that's nothing. This trip-hop is successful anyway. Nice bass!!! frenq

Thanks mate. ☺️ I started making this track while waiting for my transport to take me home from work.

I think becoming obsessed over practicing the visual arts is what's taking over my creativity, which is why I've been in a musical slump this month versus last month where I was far more musically productive. 😅

I've been mostly practicing drawing shapes (both 2D shapes such as circles, triangles and rectangles, and 3D shapes such as spheres, cylinders, pyramids and boxes). Drawing those basic forms over and over may sound simple, basic and boring, but it's akin to practicing scales and arpeggios on an instrument or practicing those with your singing voice.
