Stroke Machine by Franke Music. Such a great sounding drum synth.

  • +5 for Drum Jam, that is all!

I would love to see a port of Muse Score to IOS

There is an unofficial port which came out a month or two ago!

    https://apps.apple.com/app/aria-music-notation-editor/id6779437781

Thanks for the heads up… It’s yet another notation app that can import and render Muse Score “score” (*.mscx files). I followed the link to the GitHub project and tested one of the Muse Score demo files there in the IOS Aria instance. The sound libraries are not unlike all the other IOS score renders: not going to pass any Musical Turing Tests for fooling the listener to think it’s musician’s playing in a concert hall. For my tastes nothing comes close to StaffPad on IOS.

I will investigate Aria as an input application since my iPad Pro has stopped recognizing the magnetically attached Pencils. The much cheaper Apple USB Pencil is my fall back since my iPad has aged out of Apple Care support. In a pinch I could swap iPads with my wife but I’m considering
Just finding useful workarounds for long music notation entry sessions. I do a lot of music import and “copy and paste” between scores to input complex notation that really hard to get StaffPad to recognize.

Right, I only know of it, have never used it, these kind of things are not my bag. Isn't this the only iPad app that can import MuseScore files though? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that was the USP. The dev seemed to think this app was a big deal when he told me about it, maybe not tho...

Go on then, I'll bite 😂
What new features would it have?

The ability to utilise multi-core threading would roughly double the amount of AUV3's it could host. Can't really think of much else that would improve it (perhaps some automation ability) without also diminishing it. But AUM2x the hosting ability...yes please.

Eek. That might be the most offensive schema i've ever seen.

  • Auv3 MPE Thumbjam with Mac support.

An aptly named app. The color scheme could cause a user a stroke if stared at too long. 😂 (I legit forgot this one exists.)

  • Strike Machine by Franke Music. Such a great sounding drum synth.

    Korg Gadget 4

    • better piano roll (something like the one on GR2)
    • import midi into parts
    • copy/paste pads (bilbao, london, recife)
    • a new "load sample" window for vancouver, bilbao, abu dhabi and sidney, with an interface like Files app, but with preview (like in Sample Crate)

    Am I dreaming? :)

So true. The sounds are tough to top. Then again, I'd love an FAC Drumkit 2.

Yes. Aria can import Muse Score’s internal file format and (important to me) it can output Music XML format which StaffPad can import. The MuseScore.com site has thousands of music score moving free and commercial files. Most files can be downloaded as Music XML, MIDI so open file formats are part of their plans. I gave tested dozens of free Music XML scores from that repository.
Some of them are really useful to study orchestration techniques. Ton’s of classical, film scores and pop music files of widely varying quality.

  • Magellan 3! And why not Figure 2

  • Egoist 2. Multiout, updated synth engine, parameter automation, mo better fx etc

  • Mozaic 2.

    • Control over the UI with custom UI element placement.
    • String support (no I'll never stop asking).

Probably 😄 But then, most of us had been sure it would never get new features, before v3 dropped.

I was going to put Gadget 4 in here myself, but I wasn’t sure if it really belongs, in the spirit of the thread. It’s still such a current app. Development seems to keep coming, like a stalactite growing, only slower.

But if we’re on the subject…

    +1 for copy/paste pads.
    - A utility sample editor (just a basic Reason or Caustic-style one). Or even just a fix for clicking at start/end of non-zero-crossed audio clips (fade in/out or… something!)
    - Audio routing/bouncing from midi tracks to the audio processing tracks
    - An effect device! Obvs it should be a Kaoss pad! WTF are you doing Korg?! 😄 you already did half the job with Memphis’ audio routing.
    - An ES-1 Electribe-style Sampler! Imagine the fun! Or an original design, if the devs can lock the marketing execs outside. Just something that can mangle more than a short sample.

Any of this would be transformative for sampling in Gadget.

Also: LFOs! Yeah, you can use Taipei in a roundabout way. One could also toast bread with a candle, if needs-be. A direct, tap-the-parameter implementation would be lovely!

    I’ll get my coat.

    Can't you just vibecode such a Mozaic 2? 😜

  • Retronyms Tabletop 2 ?

  • Love to see a BM3 auv3 sampler app (just the sampler).

  • One I’ve been wishing could be re-made or if someone would create their own version of the same concept, is “ddtctmcc”. As far as I know this is the only app that lets you draw and animate an X Y pad for changing CC values.
A really useful idea but it’s alway been flakey and unusable for me. There is actually a free version that works okay but is stripped down functions.

There are plenty of LFOs and the recent MIDIx that uses physics bouncing for CCs but I find it much more useful to be able to draw and record changes for CCs. I’m surprised no one or very few seem to mention this concept.

    This is the free one:

so many great suggestions in here. xynthesier, shoom, sector - i'd pay good money for all of these as AUv3s.

I'd also add Cassini and Mitosynth to my AUv3 wishlist.

Mitosynth, there's still nothing quite like that.

Another +1 for Sector and Mitosynth (I really liked the GUI on that one); a new, or at the very least updated version of Nave would be nice; any of the old PPG synths; Effectrix 2 (I know it’s already on desktop, but will it ever make it to iPad?); an updated version of Arpeggionome Pro would be nice; anything with Samplr, whether it’s an update or v2, and same for Borderlands; GlitchBreaks 2 (or just a new update), and on and on and on… I kind of just want modern updates for older/discontinued apps more than I want a full-blown v2.0 of anything.

Yep, in disappointed the dev has never fixed the many issues with Ddtctmcc, it's a brilliant concept, poorly executed. I've reported tons of bugs, he's never gotten round to sorting them out. Someone should definitely make a bug free version with a better UI.

  • already mentioned: nanostudio 3 & samplr 2 would bring much joy but the devs have moved on.

    oh, and seekbeats.

  • Sliver was just brought up in another thread so I thought it deserves a mention here. If it could be rejuvenated with auv3, etc. could be a great app. It has a unique way to blend and play samples.

    SeekBeats! Yes!

  • Aphelian was a sweet app, its no longer on the App Store but it was great for either sequencing notes or sending in midi chords, and have it spitting out a bass line, arp, or lead. I miss that app i used it a lot for those reasons. It is Still on my old iPad but was unable to redownload when i upgraded. It used shapes, and lines on the shapes to mark where the notes would trigger, you could randomize, or tap in exactly where you wanted the notes to play.

If anyone wants to make an Aphelian 2, maybe with a slight name change or something, id be very happy to see it on the App Store.

Guitarism - best guitar app ever made . Sounded like a guitar and pretty much played like one ( within reason... ).

Gone now but lives in my memory!

I still have it on a couple old devices and it was a sweet app, it sounded great but also had midi out to play other instruments.
