    I don't want to hijack the sale thread, so I will start a dedicated Harmonic Synth thread. But let me address your sales/pricing concern here because I think it's relevant and you asked in good faith.

    I guess it depends how you look at it. Personally, I don't care for sales or in-app purchases. This developer thing is sort of a side-hustle. My day-gig is keeping the lights on at: Beat Kitchen where we teach music production face-to-face. In the life of the school, we've never run a sale. Not once. Instead, there have been plenty of pay-what-you-can or scholarship seats, but I'd rather give a seat to someone than play 'musical chairs' with the price tag. I'm also not a fan of in-app purchases. The school started as a reaction against the scammy culture in the music production edu space in the first place.

    That said, the Apple ecosystem doesn't give me a lot of lattitude.

    Here's all the info (and probably more than anyone wants lol). First versions were early-adopter focused. I launched in the App Store in late June for $1 as well as the desktop plugin. The desktop version was set to increment $1 every day until it hit $29. It has been sitting there for months and is also scheduled to go up to the $79 tomorrow (VST/AU only — not the iOS version). That's the AU/VST target and I don't have plans to change it again.

    I hadn't really planned on focusing on iOS at first. In fact, the first part was merely a standalone app without a AUv3 capability. Adding that and tuning the UI for iOS was challenging, but also really rewarding. This synthesizer is well suited to a tactile interface.

    When I got things working well enough that I felt justified to charge for it, I bumped the price. Despite having a well developed web interface that you can use to preview it, I understandably got some complaints that people did not want to have to pay for a trial so I moved to a free trial with an unlock and accompanied it with a price bump to increment it closer to the target price of $15. That's around where the story started on this thread.

    A user mentioned this forum and thread, I decided to swing back through as (in my mind) a courtesy to let people know it was going to go up tomorrow because as far as I can tell, notifications only happen when things go down in price and not when they go up.

    The synthesizer has effectively been on sale in the 'postage-stamp-cup-of-coffee price range, and after blasting it out on social media and low-key annoying all of my followers for months, I came to the conclusion that most everyone who's going to buy it basically already has. That's the story and I hope it adds some context for anyone who I rubbed the wrong way.

    Appreciate your honesty about the pricing situation Nathan. Got to be honest too and say that I always find it a bit unappealing to know that I missed a great deal with the result that I very, very rarely buy anything once it’s gone up to a much higher price. I see it’s already gone up from $7.99 to $8.99 before it goes up to $15. Wish I’d been aware of it when it was $1! Hope it works out well for you and the Beat Kitchen. Cheers.

    This is exactly why sales are so popular among both the sellers and the buyers. Some people will buy a product at any price. Others feel FOMO when they see a sale, even if they never planned to buy a product in the first place. Seeing the price raised from $1 to $15 gives me a "reverse FOMO"

    How about reverse reverse FOMO? Yes, I missed out on the $1., but if I put myself in the future, if I buy today, i get it for 40% off. So the future me does not get FOMO and I win.

    Enough of the silliness. I am getting it because it is wild and well worth the price. I am playing with the free version and have only touched the surface. (And I like buying cool things at a reduced price.)

    It's better than the alternative. Me, I'm 7 years away from turning 50. On the wrong side of 50 though.

    The only thing a younger person can do better than an older person is maybe compete at the olympics. Maybe bedroom activities but most will be down to once per year soon after marriage.😂 The older you get the better the musician you become usually.

    The video says no rock/metal just Gospel/church sound. I understand were they come from but I think it’s a big missed opportunity on their part if it’s drum plugin we all been waiting for.
