  • As far as I can tell the 'Mystery Bingo' in IDS-10 is a pretty clever way to make the user explore the app :)
  • So is anyone using on an iPad and if so what is the orientation and size given it is an iPhone app?

So @richardyot - sorry you had to be one of the ones to buy the app and find out it has zero connectivity. I can't believe it will stay that way for long, and then you'll have bought it half price.

Can you tell me about the sequencer...

    • how long is the longest sequence you can write?

    • can you restrict the piano roll to a scale?

And also, how's the drum machine? Good sequencer? Does it sound as nice as iElectribe?

  • Damn it , in a moments weakness I somehow purchased this!  I can be such a failure when it comes to resisting a fun looking app.  That and I am a Korg slut anyway.
  • I am going to play me some mystery bingo tonight!
  • @Tritonman On the iPad Air 2 the app respects screen rotation and is in landscape. (scaled screenshot attached).

Matt_Fletcher_2000 As for the song length, 32 patterns each can be up to 64 steps long and can be arranged into a song that is 100 steps long, each pattern can also have parts muted so no need to do multiple patterns for buildups and tempo is adjustable per pattern in % of the songs tempo. And yes it's possible to restrict the scale of the piano and the scales carries over to the chaos pad.

Over all it's a pretty fun app to play around with and sounds pretty darn good too.

Still would have loved to have it as Gadgets inside Gadget :)

  • @richardydot
don't forget that you can request a refund, for which the reason you give probably would be approved, as long as it's not something you do often.

Edcuated guess (won't hold you to it :)): Do you believe that this will have some kind of out (AB, ACP etc) before All Fool's Day?

-The longest sequence is 16 but its easy to copy paste and modify patterns (think egoist), 32 would not be luxury though EDIT: 64 steps ! thanks to Samu ,now we just need IAA !
    -Great drum machine
-And yes you can restrict the piano roll to a scale (there s not a lot of choice but the bases are covered, and you can always go back to chromatic to tweak...)

this app sound great, and it's somehow the "mini gadget" for iphone that I was dreaming about (automation is easy to use)

Now, I'm a little worried since it's the only app (and I have a lot ) that I couldn't manage to record into logic using the usb/lightning cable and ios9/el capitan... maybe I need some help >

(recording using Lightning->USB cable works fine though).

so audio/export totaly stuck for me :(

please korg ! we need iaa/AB

  • I'm busy right now but I'll see if I can play with it tonight.

    Ahhhhh - you're killing me!

Tempting to get it to compose with on my phone while on the bus.

So 2 synths and one drum machine. Mmmm.

But no bloody IAA/AB/ACP... Argh! (Surely that's coming though).

On the positive side - to be honest I could just copy the midi by eye into Gadget or MTS once I had something nice going in there.

If the piano roll is as nice for touch as Gadgets then I think I might hit the guilty button.

Considering the iElectribe for iPhone doesn't have support for ACP which is really silly since the ACP SDK is already inside the iElectribe for iPhone App bundle. I have no clue as to when it will happen, strangely i feel that we'll see new Gadgets in Gadget before the iPhone apps get an update...

  • The voice track is fun as hell,   Wahhhhh! I want AB!

I can't make it work, every other apps work fine, even itunes, safari etc... but this app stays on the iphone speakers,(even with earphones pluged in) when I try to output the audio via usb to my mac ... Am I the only one experiencing that bug ?

    @Matt_Fletcher_2000 ;

You can adjust the Octave Range to fit the screen size for keyboard and choose your scale type.

Everything you seeing on synth panel can has it's own sequencer up to 64 steps, including on-off siwtcher. There is nothing you can not finger drawing on step sequencers. The way to do finger drawing, you need to press the knob button and press-hold it for 2 seconds. Then, you will have your knobs turned to see it being modulated.

I found it the most versatile and easiest modulated 32 patterns and 64 steps sequencer on everything. It hides all the complexity behind the scene. It is not iMS20 type laborative feeling. With few hours messing around, anyone can realize this is a high quality lonly island muisc app.

Everything it needed is just a simple touch on Audiobus Input slot!

There is no crash on my Air2. On Air1, resolution a bit lower. On 6s plus, this is awesome. On iPhone 5s, this is a difficult playground for me.

Forgot to say, this app could be wonderful hand-hold playgrond for iPad mini. I just feel the screen size is well designed for mini iPad users for best experience.
  • This is great, also looks great in the iPad, and very different from the iMS20 so worth the star purchase
  • No thanks.
No ability to collaborate again, typical Korg.
They seem to think that the iPad is not a platform for serious use.
Gave up on Korg some time ago.
  • No sale

no export is kind of insult but id imagine this will still sell and be appreciated by many people though

doesnt take much coding to add acp even..open in audioshare..

its just not aimed at the pro market

i save my finger on purchase button for kirnu cream
  • I feel like such an amateur now.    (Oh wait,  I am, for a minute I almost took myself too seriously!)

Each pattern has is's own step length and BPM ratio option up to 2 times the speed.

  • Yes indeed it really does have quite a bit going on inside doesn't it.  If you do not mind having some great fun it is pretty good actually.  Looking forward to the updates on this one but until then I can record into my other iPad if I feel the need.

Doug, are you going to be doing this one?  Yes it does look great on the iPad Air I can say.
  • If I'd have to pick one feature that stands out in iDS-10 it has to be the vocoder/speech-synth. Sure it's not tempo-synced or anything, speed is still controllable and easy to adjust live to fit the tempo and it sounds really nice. Turn up the noise for speech from the graveyard and one phrase per pattern is also nice for crazy lyrics :D
  • Anyone tried a keyboard controller with it?
  • @knewspeak There is no Midi-Support as far as I can see so it's a fun-time lonely island for now :)
  • 3 fingers to flip upward and downward or left to right on all synth panels. Unlock one mystery on mystery panel.
  • I did get three of them.  I think you have to bingo though.
  • Fun, @Tritonman. I really enjoy alone with iDS-10. SoundCloud intergration will be nice to many people. At this price, it is OK for the satisfaction, just grummpy.
