  • Thanks! I read everything a few days ago and I vaguely remember some conversation about exporting audio but must have assumed saving settings was fundamental. D'oh! Thanks for the response, though.

What helps the most though is discussions and feedback here, and also leaving a 5-star rating and writing a nice review in the App Store. Please consider taking just a little moment to do so!

I'm going to be an off-the-record pain in the arse here and say that the problem is that without commonly-used saving/outs etc it's NOT a five star app. As it is, Skram is the photograph of a beautiful girl you can't actually talk to. I understand the marketing/support on this (believe me), and I love the felicity of your drawing board so far but rather than rambling along like this on the app store I would rather wait the next ten minutes, see the outs implemented, and then say 'it's a great start and they're delivering what they say they would...'

    +1 what he said

  • ^@JG, exactly, if I was to write an honest review right now, it wouldn't generate any sales of the app. Better to wait, until the features have been delivered and work as required, and write a real 5* review if/when it is a real 5* app.

I was pondering the 5 star post as well and almost felt a bit sneaky leaving one... but the price was so small and fortunately for the dev my app store review credibility means nothing so I gave five stars out of pure self interest investment in a future tool/toy. App store ratings and reviews are kind of a means to an end for a lot of devs so I totally don't blame them. A lot of hokery pokery can go into them (not saying this is hokery pokery btw as I love the app and it was worth the pennies) and I know devs can see it as a game in and of itself. Not so much getting people to buy but getting a better standing in the store opens a lot of avenues. So I give the potential of the app five stars and said that in my review. I will naturally be a little more critical with each update and especially once additional coin options are involved. Totally hear what you are saying though.

  • @AudioGus, seems a bit 'Minority Report', writing a 5* review based on what may, or may not be coming sometime in the future. I don't doubt the motivation of the Devs to deliver a 5* product, but as it stands it's not there yet, and there is the problem with the AppStore reviews. It's not credible, when the Devs admit the product needs further development but they still want a top notch review of their product

Yah I wrote off the app store as credible ages ago. In fact culture isn't credible either. I just want my awesome shiny toys in my little cave for when the apocalypse comes and i just spend my days droppin beats and huntin caribou. bring on the future!

Minority Report. Nice one. (Hope you don't mind I'll consider that a PKD reference rather than Spielberg/Cruise) Devs want what the 5 stars bring, which is downloads which is revenue which is the means to continue...judgement call on how one spends one's stars. Already spent the 5 bucks...

  • Not to get too philosophical / obvious here but I reckon the 5-Star review in question is applicable to Faith In The Developer as much as the infant App itself. If this thread is any indication of developer-involvement-worth then I'm thinking it's nothing less than a "5-star involvement" and deserving of a review as such.

(It's true that the developers / app Could go askew but then again reviews are editable too.)

  • Hey all! Thanks for the enthusiasm. Didn't mean to detract us all from talking about music and features. We appreciate any support, whatever you feel we genuinely deserve is just fine. ;)

I agree. As noted I'm of the opinion that if I were their marketing VP I might prefer not to read a pontificating piece of puff from Goodyear J. on the nature of the self/game theory and so on and so forth. Just give me an out Martha.

  • I always thought of @kaikoo as the quality flipside counterpart to your poetic input here @JohnnyGoodyear .. do any of us know where he's gone?

    (apologies again for off-topic-ing here)

I miss @kaikoo. Don't know what has become of him. I seem to remember a passing note that he had something or other he had to take care of and would be gone for many months. I rather hoped it was a manly quest. Of course I didn't actually believe him. Should have known better. I still live in hope, waiting at the door, that he will turn up some morning...

+2 The saving options are outdated . Regardless of how much fun the app is or how much it costs , if I can't easily save my recordings then unfortunately it isn't worthy of a 5 star review . When it gets connectivity it will be .

Live track creation jam. From a blank start warts and all. First take, some people have been asking me to do something like this but I will not have a google account to comment so I can't reply on YouTube, boo..

Oh yeah, and the app live glitches about 3/4 of the way through dropped out and then went out of sync. Only time it has done this was this time live, lol...

  • I am constantly being distracted from my "serious" musical projects by this thing.
It has an unique elegance and is a helluva lot of fun. There is so much potential here.
I send my thanks and wishes for more SKRAM to the developers.
