No update. Open Frum and check audio record in settings !!

Ok, I'm absolutely certain that wasn't there before. They must've updated the webapp with this feature very recently.

Just tried, works great. Awesome! Now she can be freeeeee! ;)

  • new feature... no update? Seriously...? It cant be that nobody didnt notice this option...

Ok I am so glad I got this thing for the sheer time/space paradigm fuckery of it all.

Just recorded and sent into Blocs... How cool is that... No update... Wtf?

  • So where are we now then? Is this app able to send it output to other apps? Is it still online only? Are they still wanting my younger day porn pics?

I can keep those safe for you.

I launched my iPhone version and it announced the new recording feature & some extra advanced controls for the iPhone to match the controls on the iPad. Says the new features were added yesterday. Long press to reveal new control on the iPhone.

Recorded great, then gave me the option to save to AudioShare.

    Sweet! :)

Looks like they raised the price by a dollar though.

    :o

  • Yeah no update but now with record function.

  • are the mute pads actually gone though, I wouldn't like that, or were they just moved?

The same option is still there to hide or show them.

  • ok thank you.

  • Gahhhhh dammit. I don't approve of this new business, but I do approve of Frum having audio export and such. Redownloading

  • does it allow back ground audio now?

I don't see a background switch, but I'm playing it now in the background fine. Must be on all the time. Works for me.

Confirmed background audio in both iPad and iPhone installs.

  • I knew my spaghetti-cables Frum recording setup wouldn't have to go on forever but this is incredible.

  • Does anyone else find the sequencer wonky as hell? I understand everything its doing, but have thus far failed to find a workflow with it that doesn't feel like tedium. Tips?

  • Ok so mute buttons are now an option in the settings, but I can't get background audio to work for me.

Just to be clear, by background audio... you mean you're playing a tune you sequenced in FRUM, then double click out to another app, and FRUM is still playing in the background. Correct?

Both my iPad and iPhone FRUM installs keep playing in the background when I click out to another app.

I'll take another look to make sure I hadn't found a background audio switch earlier and it was already turned on.

I have an iPhone5 and iPad Air 2, both running iOS10.

I find it wonky but haven't spent much time with it. I did like recording it into Blocs and chopping it up. Once/if it gets AB it will be nice to pump it in with FX.

  • This is a very pretty moral dilemma...

Yeah that's right. But I see what's happening now, background audio is working with the built in sequencer but not if you are sequencing it remotely by Modstep for example.

So I guess that's background midi input which is not working, hope they enable that.

I didn't even know you could also control it via midi. Where are those settings?

While I was digging again for background settings, found even more settings I didn't know were there, but I didn't see anything related to midi.

  • is there no metronome and live input via pads?

Midi in is on by default, there are no settings for it I can see. You can plug a keyboard in and trigger the sequencer that way or remotely from another device/sequencer. It's a bit buggy though.

No. Not for sequencing the patterns. You can do that if your just recording your playing as audio. That's what I find frustrating.

Ah, I see. Just tried with Genome. Midi control looks like a loose end they haven't actually connected up quite yet. Got it to work, but crashed the app too.

So even there are potentially four instruments per channel, the channel is not polyphonic, right? In other words if the kick is on the One and the Three, nothing else in that channel can be, correct?

  • edited September 2016

Any reason we need to have the channels set like they are? Like why can't I place a yellow sound in channel 1 of the sequencer and then a yellow sound in channel 3?
Also, would really love live pad recording.

  • edited September 2016

Anyone own an original Arturia Beatstep and hooked it up to Frum? Results?
Thinking of getting something cheap with this many knobs and pads. Or....alternatives?
