Now, no staying up too late, school night.

  • Updates out now.

  • 2:45 mins. Until Monday here.

  • Update is live....GET SOME...LOL.

  • Download in progress, but I just woke at 3:10 and am going back to sleep . Dreaming of a morning Drum Session.

  • Read a lot of this thread months ago and can't remember: does it allow quick swapping of a kits sound with another kits single sound while staying in that original kit?

75 percent of the time I work with electronic kits and on hardware, but this and its quick switch/extensive patterns could potentially make ios a more realized sketchpad for me. Are there a lot of easy options to heavily process the drums so they won't sound out of place in an electronic composition?

  • Great update with the new kits. Is it possible to record your own beats one piece at a time? If I hit record, and lay down the kick, and then stop to listen. Then it will generate a new recording, when I want to record the snare etc. if anyone can understand what I'm talking about, please give me a hint ;)

  • No kit piece swapping and no processing of sounds. Each kit is preprocessed and sorted by genre. Pick your kit, pick your grooves, drag into timeline and edit groove as required.

  • Rinse and repeat as needed :o

    @DerekBuddemeyer

I just tried importing stems of an older project from DS to Auria Pro with the new dry kit , but there is no crash cymbal.

    Can someone confirm?

iPad Air 2 with latest iOS and updated apps.

    Hmmm... I'll check.

  • bought

hope this is a good addition to Addictive Drums (which I also got just a few days ago) since it's got Midi out

  • Export is awesome!!! To AudioShare creates midi or audio files for each instrument.

One bug I found in IAA inside Auria if you hit the rewind button DS creates a small recorded loop at beginning of DS timeline which when u hit playback creates a CPU overload. To prevent this just hit the stop button in Auria and it will restart song at beginning without creating this small loop.

When you exported to AudioShare, did you get a crash cymbal file?

  • I exported only an intro piece of snare and bass drum. I'll check another one

  • @supanorton I just did an export and got nine separate wav files and it did include the ride.wav, chinaCymbal.wav, hi hat.wav and the toms and two kick waves and two snare waves

  • Will try the dry kit the previous one was the processed ballad kit 1

  • I used the same project and got the same files now using the Stem export kit. So the Ride.wav did export which sounded both as ride and as crash in the exported file.

  • I'll mess with it some more but had a few issues.

The export of stereo mix into Cubase using 'Open In' worked great. But trying to do the stem export to Cubase didn't work. I followed the help directions (as soon as you choose multi-track export & IAA and press GO the help info popped up), but didn't get it to work.

I choose IAA as the input of an Audio track, choose Drum Session ('Drum Session' is listed twice btw in this Cubase example?), it loads, I choose the export kit, the groove and press record.

Then when I go into Cubase to check it, there's audio recorded but it's the full kit. You have to turn off the tracks monitoring or it will sound all phasey (the Drum Session timeline playing again due to IAA).

I tried creating another audio track thinking for stems each part needs a track but it wont let me choose Drum Session as an IAA instr (It's greyed out) except on just one audio track.

My main DAW is Auria Pro and I haven't tried it there. I have just been messing with Cubasis the last few weeks and figured I'd try the export on it. Am I missing a step? I admit I'm new to Cubasis so maybe I am missing or forgetting something easy...dunno.

I'll mess with it some more...aside from this the update is awesome, love the Studio Kits & Export kits sounds. The app is really taking shape as a serious piece of business now... awesome.

Interesting. Thank you. I'll experiment some more too and report back.

Thank you. Will stick to the regulars I have now.

  • The new kits sound great Derek. Really crisp and snappy. The whole thing seems brighter and easier on the eyeballs now for some reason also.

Would still really like a new skin option, even as an IAP....my eyeballs just aren't as snappy as they used to be... :(

Brightened the UI a little...a whole new facelift is coming soon along with the iPhone version

    Huzzah!

  • Derek DS is creating a short loop every time I rewind. I can undo it but something to look into.
Also when I want to open a new song, it asks me to save or cancel current song, no option to say don't save. If I cancel then can't open new song.

I'm reall Loving the app so much more!!
Also the tapping of the loops in the timeline now highlights the loop used! That's so awesome!!!

  • Not able to do the timeline tap for finding loops how does this work exactly?
