  • It’d be nice to have the shift pattern up/down in bassline, as in the standalones. I could then copy the first notes to a second pattern, and transpose them for a nice quick song sequence.

Not a complaint though - love the app anyway!

  • @brambos This an incredible suite of tools for an incredible price. You’re the perfect developer to lead the charge into a fully self-sufficient AU workflow. Joyous days lie ahead!

Death to an App Store that makes us wait 15 hours to throw money at it.

It could probably be put as a new subpage under the MIDI Control page in the main menu. The subpage would have a toggle for "Receive program change on/off" and a list of program number 0-127, where tapping on one row lets you choose a session file for that slot.

That would be a clever solution--as long as you included some kind of MIDI control to allow for advancing by one session back/forth in the list. But I do really like your list idea, because I hate having to look up a program number in a list of presets--or worse, having to find it by trial/error because the developer hasn't included a number in the presets. Further, your solution would be easy enough to modify to create set lists that could change depending on the gig. Extra points if the user could "save" a setlist (basically the state of the subpage) and recall that configuration to use as the foundation for a new setlist. Total game changer...

  • Crash fixed! Was midi loop :D

Although Bassline is Playing I still don’t hear it change key, I’ve set it to Auto play and disabled both transpose and midi trigger buttons. Any ideas?

Ahh I see what you mean now, it took me a minute or two LOL....Erm, I don't think so at the moment, @brambos said more modules are on the cards, perhaps something is planned for this ?

Adding a slide in bassline creates overlapping notes at the moment. I'll change the algorithm so that when you slide to identical notes (e.g. from C3 to C3) it will interpret that as a tie instead and let you chain notes into longer notes.

I like this approach because it lets you achieve more without adding complexity to the UI or workflow. And it doesn't require checkboxes or options that you forget the moment you close the settings panel. :)

It would be great to have this in PhaseMaker as well. Of course not totally needed since Odessa can manage it instead, but it would be nice to have for quick noodles and for ease of use in AB3 and other hosts. Just a thought.

  • Is there a way to get lower notes in Bassline?

  • Am I the only one wishing for a way to scroll values in the different sequencers instead of tapping + or - a million times?

  • Also, will there be any other midi mappable parameters other than patterns?

Hit the midi icon in the lower left corner. There you can shift the base note by octaves.

Oh what a beauty! Thank you.

I’m not saying thank you to @brambos yet until I fully appreciate just how brilliant Odessa really is...

  • It’s the best yet. Thank you!
Can I ask for a pad/stab mkr with a simpe gate for length?
    Maybe with a chord library...

  • @brambos I don’t know i this is a bug or maybe it’s supposed to be that way, but when I save a BassLine preset it doesn’t save my settings for the 2 midi switches. If I change a preset it reverts to both on. Could this be an option please?

  • Oh my... I’m learning

    having a blast so far

Congratulations, Odessa is the #1 Music app (according to the the Canadian app store, at least)

Not bad for an audio app that makes no sound and requires a single specific app to run :)

  • Damn this got me so close to 11. Can't do it on the iPad, can't say goodbye to x,y and z apps...
    But iPhone. Hmm
Anyone running this AUM/Odessa scientific supercake on iPhone 6 iOS 11?

  • Anyone figured out how to setup Odessa Rhythm to trigger DM1 or DM2? I used the pre-loaded MIDI map for them, made sure the MIDI channel was the same, did the obvious routing from Odessa to DM1/2, etc...

No sound but Odessa was clearly playing. What am I doing wrong?

  • bass is def no cooperating consistently in aum

  • Scratch that - figured it out. You need to turn on Notes In from IAA in both for them to receive MIDI.

Got them both working. Make sure you route them to IAA audio in the midi matrix and not the virtual option. Both have an IAA button on the song page. Make sure you click that and select “receive IAA notes.”

  • Drones with the Rhythm Sequencer driving a synth and manually adjusting the MIDI notes in real time is a blast

Can you elaborate please, so I can have a look into it?

They should be saved. I’ll check it out.

  • How do you do triplets on the X0X?

Use the button "4/4" to change time signature.

  • Doh! Gotcha, thanks

Just hold the button and it will auto-repeat up/down quickly. I can fine-tune the repeat speed so let me know if it's still too slow :)

You actually need to enable "transpose" for this to work. Try if it works with AUM's built-in keyboard. The octaves around middle-C let you change key up/down.

Brilliant, I got DM1 working after following this. Again, like iElectribe I’ve struggled to find something that works with these for years, so it’s amazing to be able to trigger their sounds like this.

What's almost even more amazing is that after 40+ years it's still MIDI that's holding these high tech thingamajigs together :D
