Ravenscroft 275 is definitely worth it even if it doesn’t go on sale. Very nice piano. It can go from huge to delicate. For just playing and getting inspired, I much prefer it over CMP or Colossus (I don’t have Ivory, the demo sounds just weren’t for me).

I'm getting bad noise with this app. Play note C7 using any of these presets:
tremolo orchestra
tremolo strings 1
horns and strings 1
Do you hear a loud flapping noise?
Play note C7 using preset all brass 1
Do you hear repetitive clicking?
Play C7 using presets:
orchestra strings slow 2
chamber arco strings
legato orchestra strings
full sardino strings

Do you hear a grinding sound in the background?
I chose C7 because it makes the problems more apparent.
If anyone could check this I would be grateful. I have uninstalled/reinstalled but the problems persist. I am using the built-in keyboard and listening with headphones plugged into my iPad Air2. Thanks.
Yep - I totally hear it. What’s funny is I have never used C7 in a track so I have never heard it before. Ever instrument seems to have its sweet spot range so I tend to stick within that. You’re right though. It sounds like the very fast looping of the sample up at C7 is creating some sort of artifact.

@pfrf to be fair to iSymphonic though - Beathawk tremolo Strings sounds terrible up at C7 as well. The quick couple of Thumbjam instruments I tested had noticeable artifacts at C7 also. Not sure how easy it is to get samples to play well at that high range??
I've been waiting for this app to go on sale. I don't know, I'm kind of fussy about noise. Bah.

First group: Yes to all. I hear a chirping noise like a machine is running in the BG.
Brass 1: Not clicking, but can definitely hear the cycling on this.
Second group: I hear noise in all of these as well, some being pretty quiet and negligible to me, but some are obnoxious for sure. Sounds like a weird room ambiance in the samples to me, the cycling making it more noticeable.
The problems are most apparent on the long sustained notes, but if I play shorter duration notes in the normal register, it doesn't bother me me too much. I think playing polyphonic stuff may help too if it can break up some of the sample cycling. Kind of a bummer since a lot of people rave about this app, but I can't complain since it was only $5 and overall sounds pretty great to me. Sorry if it is too lo-fi for your purposes, but you could probably get a refund.
Oh yeah, I have an Air 2 as well. On iOS 11.1.
Seems unreasonable to expect an instrument sample to sound good on notes the instrument cannot play. The further you transpose it, the worse it will sound. The solution is to choose an instrument that was designed to play that high, like a piccolo.

That is a very reasonable point. It isn't just a matter of transposition artifacts, though, it's also noise and looping issues. The noise, especially the scraping sounds, occur in lower registers as well. As I mentioned, I chose C7 because in all cases it made the problems clear.
Miroslav pushes a few sounds too high in pitch, but nowhere near as high or low as iSymphonic. Maybe a highlighted play range would be useful, as to me, the samples sound decent for the most part within their usual play ranges.
While I say decent, we do have to accept that some compromises have been made at these price points and sample sizes. So while not perfect, I’m personally happy to live with a few issues come along at these costs. I could however see how some require or desire something more
You said exactly what I wanted to say but in a non dicky way that I couldn't get to, lol.
It's like with @pfrf I get being disappointed with an app, and if the general, in range quality of the entire set disappointed you brother then yeah, refund it. But it's just a few patches playing well beyond their natural range? That's where I feel, at $5, hell even $20, you can't expect miracles.
Tremelo strings, like tympani rolls are one of those sample string sounds that will always sound unnatural because the speed and individual velocities can't be set. You just get this generic pulse that may or may not fit in whatever you're working on.
ISymphonic does so many things right I feel its a steal & warrants buying with at least 2 or 3 of the add on packs.
I just bought Heavy Brass and am totally set now for anything brass I may need. ISymphonic has the great warm, classical horn sounds & Heavy Brass has the stuff for up tempo pop, blues, chord stabs etc. For $10-$20 to get all that versatility and great sounds? Totally badass.
I am done with Black Friday barring any unforeseen never go on sale sales... I'd been waiting for this type of sale to load up on the IAP packs, so cool...
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but for those experiencing mixdown issues with iSymphonic in Cubasis: if you activate ‘Real-time mixdown and freeze’ in options/mixdown-share, the instruments will render correctly. Obviously this slows things down considerably, but it does work. Auria seems to handle fast mixdowns fine, so hopefully this will be something Steinberg can revolve. (The latest version 2.3 still needs real-time mixdown to render correctly).

No, though Heavy Brass (which I just got in the sale) does. The Grand Piano and Cathedral Organ apps have the same tuning interface, but you can't do anything with it, though it does have a couple of Hermode tuning presets you can select from the preset popup at the top. What in the other apps is the cents axis is relabelled "Intensity" and has a slider control that isn't there in iSymphonic, Oriental Strings, or Heavy Brass. It's very strange. I may be missing something – I've only had them a couple of days – but custom tunings don't seem to be an option in those two.
