Yeah aware of the issues, but if they wanted to, it’s perfectly possible. They obviously don’t see the market as large enough to bother - simply put, if the money was there, they would have Android running with the same latency as iOS tomorrow! The issue of piracy is a problem though.
But while I understand the issues, it makes no difference to the fact that iOS music making has no real competition. Surface is a different market.
Like you, I also use Beathawk as a library. I also plan to one day learn to use its engine/sequencing capabilities to build songs. I promise.
I was really impressed with Oriental Strings. It not only does "the exotic", but also is really good for straight up bread and butter strings.
Nice. Looking forward to trying it out. Can't have too many strings.
I didn't buy any apps either - but couldn't resist Heavyocity
Certainly. I guess the point is, unless someone builds a closed structure like Apple, it won't happen, and if they do, it's going to be all the issues.
I agree that it would need to be a similar structure. I disagree that there has to be run in exactly the same ways and hence have all the same issues. We will have to agree to disagree on that one

I actually didn’t go as crazy as I thought I would (probably because I don’t have the funds lol) but I grabbed Mood, EOS 2, Cubasis 2 and Tera Synth. I think I’m good for a while considering I already had a good amount of apps to hold me over. It’s also my first year doing the iOS music thing and I enjoy it. This forum has caused my spending habits to go up but I can’t complain lol
Android latency is over if you have a later device with at least Android 6 or something. I haven't had latency issues on my Android phone for a couple of years or so. But still, iOS is way better for doing any music stuff that requires apps working together. There is no AUM/Audiobus type of workflow as far as I am aware, but I really haven't been keeping up with Android music for the past year, so there might have been some sort of major breakthrough in that area. I have noticed a lot more iOS apps have migrated onto Android in the past year though.
Well that’s good news. Would love to see it really take off on Android. I think competition can only be good for us all long term
I'm not buying any either. I've got too many iOS music apps now. There's only so much time in a day. I want to support the best developers, but the market is just flooded with so much underpriced stuff.
I really love the price of the Android hardware. I had a cheap Chinese phone that I got for $40, and it ran my audio apps perfectly. Caustic, Audio Evolution, Oscillab, G-Stomper, Mixtikl, SunVox, NodeBeat, MorphWiz, Nanoloop, and a bunch of awesome noise-related apps. There are probably more that I am not remembering at the moment.
Yep still plenty of issues to tackle, but it really would open the market up and that is usually a good thing
