Thanks sorted it now
Well I gotta say, these Rozeta midi AUs are just the bee's knees in BM3. Already working them into my tracks!
Yeah, brilliant update this one. Rozeta + BM3 makes a huge difference
I may help if there were some 'official' videos to guide us through...
Ok, so I hit the pad Rosetta's Bassline is on feedback.... Help..
Not officially official, but a start with more promised: https://intua.net/forums/discussion/5868/using-au-midi-videos
Is anyone else not seeing the parameters when using the “Show AU Knobs” button when using the Rozeta plugins?
Thanks...
That’s because there are no tweakable parameters in Rozeta.
No AU parameters exposed in Rozeta yet, but fingers crossed they will be added
Absolutely agree and his hard work is much appreciated.
Although nanostudio is a great application with a great developer...he is anything but ‘quick’ there is nothing quick about blipinteractive. Once again, not speaking on quality...just was mystified by the statement about quickness.
No you don't, they are focus actions for things that are in UI focus, setting up MIDI control is done in bank or pad MIDI routing.
Am I right thinking that there is no convenient way to use rozeta lfo atm?
The only way I’ve found
load lfo>midi learn in settings turning them on/off 1by1 and even then max 16 parameters can be modulated on active bank only
How cool would be if the built in lfos could be used for AUs as well
On the other hand, I’ve never had so much fun with my iPad, kinda convinced myself that the battery issues are not related to apple but me spending way too much time staring at it
So MIDI Clock input is still not there?
Ummm...no....if you have a midi controller , and you wan to play multiple pads at a time and not just one sound, you use this window to see that up, I use an Arturia Beatstep to lay drums sometimes and this is how you set that up and assign other hardware knobs, sliders, buttons to control other BM3 functions. I wasn’t talking about setting up which controller you are using, I was talking about being able to play a whole kit across pads or keys.
I still cannot get regular MIDI input into BM3 to behave like I want it to
Using an Electribe to sequence BM3, using different banks as I need some to be multichannel (Drums) and others to be Single Channel (Bass, Keys) etc....
Some banks play, some don't, I have delved into all menus and places for configuring MIDI that I can find and have tried all manner of options, but cannot get it to respond how I want.
Not looking for an answer as have lost patience with it for now, I'll revisit once MIDI Clock Sync arrives.
The Korg Electribe 2 is a PITA to use as a midi-controller as each pad sends on it's own midi-channel...
Only way I've found it to be somewhat useable is to first select a 'Part' (ie. Midi Channel) and they go to 'Keyboard' mode on the Electribe 2 and play the part...
I use Electribe alongside Novation Circuit, and it is a great combination...the reason Electribe has a channel per pad is that each pad can be melodic and therefore needs the channel to be able to receive multiple notes onto the individual pads....I don't have a problem with this, it makes perfect sense...
What I am using BM3 for is to build sample sets for use on the Electribe, and want to use the electribes sequencer (in fact record MIDI from Electribe to BM3 and then back again would be ideal for using BM3 to make pattern editing easier than it is currently on Electribe) while building these sample sets....BM3 has settings for Multi Channel and Single Channel so in theory can cope with this setup.....I just can't find the magic switch which allows the midi to be received by all banks regardless of which is selected.
nice to see regular updates to this app. I’d love to see an iphone version come to fruition. It would be awesome to multisample with this on the go on my phone. keep up the great works guys
I do have an Electribe 2 and what I've done (as a test) is to use 16 banks in BM3 where each bank responds to a different midi-channel coming from the Electribe 2. This way I use one instrument per bank.
Positives here is that I get one track in the sequencer & mixer per part without having to dig into each bank separately.
And all tracks can play simultaneously ? I tried something similar, I had one bank for drums set as Multichannel which uses only the first 8 pads....then a bank set to single channel for bass, another for keys, then another multichannel bank for vocal samples which used different pads to the first one for drums...so there will not have been any conflicting notes on the multichannels, but when I set the electribe running, I only get MIDI played for the selected bank, and the drums, not all together
I should mention that this is Electribe 2 Sampler...not that it should make any difference as I think the MIDI implementation is pretty much the same between them.
Yes, I can trigger all 16 sounds from the Electribe 2 at the same time.
Since there's no 'midi arm' for the banks I can record all 16 tracks from the Electribe 2 too...
It takes some time to set up so it's worth to save the session as a template for later usage.
I did this exact same setup in Cubasis on Saturday and it works a treat...Hmmm...oh go on then...I'll give it one more try with BM3...thanks @samu for your 'persuasion'
Please add a few. Clearly more people than just me are requesting it now lol. I'm curious why you're so hesitant about it. Is it some sort of midi feedback loop or something ? Something related to midi Au being a relatively recent thing ?
That is focus actions for setting up control of in focus parts of the App.
The normal way is to use per bank MIDI input settings, these are per bank or per pad and not reliant on whatever is in focus like the focus actions, so you can set up whatever controller to whatever bank or pad you like, no matter what is in focus.
Focus actions are great if you only have one controller.
lol, you are completely missing and not comprehending what I said ... at all. Lets try it again..... If you have a 16 pad controller.... and you want to use it to trigger sounds from a BM3 bank.... of drums..... and you dont want to just have say.... the snare drum across all the pads of your 16 pad controller playing in different pitches....but you want to have kick, snare, hi hat...and the entire kit on your 16 pad controller..... you would use the focus actions window to have each pad on the controller, trigger a specific pad of a beatmaker pad....have a closer look at the last image I sent.... notice how I have the Beatstep set up to trigger a separate pad for each note? I am not referring to setting up what midi channel I want to control the bank, Im talking about triggering a separate sound from each Beatstep pad.... Im also attaching a video....notice that Im getting a different sound from each pad on the Beatstep? this is Done in the by using the focus actions editor.https://youtube.com/watch?v=v-vJK9z2jFI&feature=youtu.be
No need for the nastiness just because you dont know Beatmaker very well, I was only trying to put the correct information in the thread.
Each bank has a single and multi channel mode, so MIDI notes can trigger pads in a bank or a MIDI channel can send all its notes to one pad.
Focus action editor is for what is in focus, it is even implied in the name.
I dont know it well??? Apparently you dont nor understand what I said....even after I showed you in a video...smh lol....the beatstep can send midi to one channel at a time, you cant assign a separate midi output from each pad, and it doesnt matter if a window is in focus once I set up Beatstep to trigger separate BM3 pads, I can trigger sounds not matter what window is in focus. Feel free to share a video.
I think you have not really looked at the midi editor recently. You can infact assign a separate midi channel per drum pad since firmware 2.0. I use this to directly control the volca sample with drum pads 1-10 sending on channels 1-10 and sequencer 1 and 2 sending on 11 and 12. Drum pads 11-16 send on channel 13.
The firmware update notes are here:-
https://www.arturia.com/beatstep-pro-firmware-update-2
You will find the relevant information on assigning different channels per drum pad under the "volca compatibility" section.
