    Hello Kai -

I got Volt based on Red Sky Lullabye's demo of the playing surfaces. These are cool features.

But I also want to let you know I am getting stuck notes too on the iPad. This is when amp is selected for slide and usually when I touch the key at the upper range. The stuck note will turn off when I deselect amp again for slide. Oddly enough sometimes when I tap the key the number of voices that the synth is currently set to then the stuck note will stop as well. Something rather specific for you.

On the iPhone the notes get stuck when selecting amp for pressure and doing 3D touch. Again it will stop when I deselect amp. On the iPhone selecting amp on slide gives no response when sliding.

The mod wheel doesn't seem to respond to amp changes when selected on either. But I just got a note stuck on the iPhone with the mod wheel with amp selected. Again deselecting it shut it off.

I hope this info is useful for you. I am not putting down the app, just making a report.

There appears to be an issue with the AMP routing specifically, I'll be looking into it, thanks for the report!

    Final request...

I don’t suppose there’s any chance of assigning the accelerometer to one or more parameters in the future is there? That’s really great for added expression.

That's an interesting idea. How would you use something like that, while holding the device in your hands or to knock it around when sitting on a flat surface?
Anyway, I have to be careful about changing things to not mess up any existing patches but I'll be looking into it.

Anyone know how to actually save a patch? (On iPhone).

Also when I hit export (on iPhone) it instantly crashes.

It's a bit hidden at the moment but it works just like on iPad. In the preset browser, you select the user panel then select a category, tap the "+" button on the upper right to save the patch to that category.

Export was indeed broken, sorry about that. It's fixed in the latest beta for 1.2.1, which also does fix all the iPhone SE related issues. The update should be out early next week.

I’d be holding the device in my hands, playing the keyboard - while also shaking and tilting the iPad around - which is great for adding extra expression (eg filter or vibrato etc). Works amazingly well with Animoog in a live setting.

    Thanks!

If there was a scale mode that removed out of scale keys sometime - I’d be a very, very happy man :).

By the way, some of the presets that ship with this app sound amazing!

Quick question (and sorry if this was asked before here or on other threads):
Does it make sense to get this app if I don't have a Seaboard controller (and have a couple of other analog modeling synths)?

@ka010 love this synth! Any chance Of updating it with a randomizer for some chaotic random fandom? That would make it tier 1 in my book.

You mean like a preset randomizer?

Not quite - more like a sound randomizer that randomizes all of the parameters/controls. Sometimes you get a sound, sometimes you don’t. It makes for very experimental and creative sounds that you probably wouldn’t have created otherwise. VirSyn, ApeSoft, PPG, BramBos synths, etc all have this feature and some of us get a great deal of use out of it.

    Thx!

    How about something like this?

You select the parameters you want to be affected and dial in the number of randomness.

The built-in keyboards can do everything a seaboard can so you certainly don't need to have one to get all the MPE goodness. Plus I've made sure all the patches sound and play well with any kind of keyboard.

Whoa!! That looks brilliant. You’re taking it to another level there!

  • Excellent. Can't wait to try this! Go man go!

  • Hi Kai, is volt not compatible with an Air 1 ? It won't open and crashes. Thanks

It should work, what iOS are you running on it? The latest version does have problems with iOS9.

    9.3.3

Alright then, I fixed it locally, hoping to ship an update sometime next week. In the meantime, I can offer a beta invite. If thats something you're interested in just let me know where to send it to (ideally via pm)

  • Thank you. I'm not familiar with trying out a beta, never done that before.

  • I was really not sure about this one after listening to the demos but my appaholic side got the better of me and I just purchased it. Very impressed with it. It has a unique sound which cuts through a mix. Just been using it was Layr and Model D and it really shines through.
Last few hours to get it at the discounted price....

  • Just bought. Pleased indeed. Agree very strongly with Scale and Random requests...

  • Bummer, was going to pick it up but the price already went up. Thought the sale was supposed to be through May 16th.

Sorry guys, it was supposed to run through 16th, my bad. I just can't seem to get this right... I just changed it back, might take bit to update tho.

  • Jump in if you’re on the fence! Worth it IMHO!

  • Price change is live. Bought!

  • edited May 2018

Yeah...bad timing on the price increase, what with Jacob’s superb video being posted earlier today. I didn’t purchase it because, you know, “no more synths”. Seriously, I don’t need another synth.
What’s that? It’s back on sale? And even cheaper than it was before? Well...it does look fantastic. Okay...here goes. But honestly, this is the Last Synth. For real, this time.

  • The videos sold me on it.

  • I picked this up on a whim and I'm quite pleased with it. I'm in the "I don't need another synth" category, but Volt definitely has it's own personality. It's deceptively simple - I kept looking for more STUFF (other oscillators, etc.) but it's really all just right there in front of you. With all the craziness of things like LayR, it's nice to have something straightforward to work with for a change.

  • Got it! Sounds great! Thanks, @ka010 !

That's exactly what I had in mind, glad to see it being noticed!

Just got it too. Only checked out a dozen presets but it's great so far. Getting crackling noise on all patches in standalone mode on iPhone 6s iOS 10.2 - and crash when loading app in Audiobus 2 on iPhone - message about failed to initiate presets or something like that ... not a big deal as I'll use as AU ( no crackling in AU mode). Haven't tried it on my iPad yet. Looking forward to checking out more!

  • So the sale is over I suppose? Showing up at $9.99 for me.
