@cuscolima @RajahP 👍👍
3 x Egoist + 3 x Turnado in AUM = about 56% on the old CPU monitor, which is pretty decent for my Air 2.
Chopped up vocal samples going through 100% wet Turnado Dictator twiddlings makes for a very silly thing.
Crazy fun! But I just had a crash when I tried to swap out one of my own samples live.
Ah right, I swapped one and it was ok, but will keep an eye out for that.
It’s hit my battery life a bit though.
Glad it's working for you now. Maybe mine didn't have anything to do with updating iOS to get it to work again, perhaps the operating system just needed time to clear out old junk swap files or something.
@AnimalHeadSpirit I’m glad too. It’s amazing! I never thought they would make this one into an AU but here we are. Now I need to find a way to get out of the wedding im in tomorrow to I have more time to play lol
Pfft, tell her it wasnt meant to be.
Well this is just glorious. Had three versions rolling, just using stock samples and had a killer groove going in ten minutes. A+
Glorious state saving.
@AudioGus lmao. I’m not getting married I’m just a groomsman in the party. I’m really loving this app with BM3!
Wow, just dropped a few into apeMatrix and threw some apeLFO’s at it and it exploded. Now I have to go get a new iPad.
It was a soft ball, but it was nicely hit....
Anyone using AU in Auria? How is the interface, can it be expanded to show full standalone type layout??
Is this easy enough to import samples into? Just checking before I update.
I feel the pain. My iPad hasn't been backed up in a month, and the notifications to upgrade to 200gb for 2.99/month are endless. $45 bucks a year is kinda steep for a backup though.
It's working well for me.
The AU does not have import. You can import in the standalone or copy a sample using Files but I need to rerun the AU in order to see the file.
Yah, I used to just backup ipad on my desktop via lightning cable but I don’t even think I have done my 2017 since I bought it over a year ago. If my ipad got wiped the only things I would care to restore are my BM3, Egoist and Elastic Drums sample libraries. Every couple months I just manually back up my BM3 and Cubasis projects along with the exported stems.
Aha!! Randomly I saw Egoist in my AU list, and couldn't remember if I had seen it earlier... (I just recently picked it up, so I couldn't remember if it was AU b4...) Its pretty cool, I feel a bit lost but I'll tinker and watch vids. Seems like a cool way to remix your own tracks and loops. Playing with it now...
Not super impressed with the drums and bass, but the fx and slicer thing are fun... I'd rather just have 3 slicers TBH.
Er, how do you add/delete slices again? I have 4 hits on my egoist timeline and I just want to manually set 4 slice points.

Here's the beginning stages of my first ever project in Egoist, finally decided to learn this awesome groovebox today, loving it so far every bit as much as ElasticDrums... I've had it for months but for some reason it didn't gel with me at first, so I didn't really try to tackle it until now.. I'm so glad I finally did though, it's a incredibly inspirational environment.
This is the first 4 patterns of a project I'm creating as I learn the app.. Still need to focus on beat/bass and flesh out the length, mostly been concentrating on slicer & effects today.
Not sure which way I'm going to go when I rework the bassline, I tried a few styles on the 4 patterns as a quick temporary placeholder. Feel free to share if you have any tips or impressions of my first effort. Thanks!
I always knew it had a lot of potential but I never gave it the chance she deserves until today.. ElasticDrums and my other grooveboxes have taken most of my iPad time until now, but they'll have to play second fiddle to my new love.
ED might have more sound design possibilities, esp with the more numerous effects, but I feel like you could end up getting more professional results with Ego due to its more precise controls. AU really opens up the possibilities, running separate instance for drum/bass/slicer and having individual effects seq on each. I see how addictive this app is going to be -- having a blast with my honeymoon period with it.
Importing files could be improved but is still a piece of cake, copy with Files to folder, you don’t need to restart the AU, just refresh by closing the gui and open it again.
Midi learn is still there, but not tested it. Just like the desktop version now, great fun. I hope they adjust midi bass behaviour a little, pretty sure on the standalone version when you muted the bass, it also muted the midi bass, which it currently doesn’t for AU version.
I really like the bass synth in Egoist. It’s the only app I can make sound like the screaming 303 from those hard techno tracks of my youth. At first glance it is basic, but I spent some time tweaking it and used the onboard effects and it really impressed.
I quite like to see Sugarbytes make au app with just the slicer/sampler part, that would be very cool 😎
Did you see @AudioGus video on how he does this? It's in the other Egoist thread.
