The program is well conceived. But the clicks make it very limited. Strongly do not recommend buying until it is fixed. https://youtu.be/1Wg8D_IVY3A

Fascinating watching that. I’ve not had a single click so far. Well nothing I’ve noticed. Definitely nothing as extreme as those. Wonder what I’m doing different?

All the sounds I’ve used are of my own making so far. Wonder what else is making the difference as it’s so obvious in your video

The issue in the video has nada to do with the envelopes since 'gate mode' is used for the amp...

    Well spotted Sir :)

@davis_korgrd Please have this issue taken care of.

    Same issue with envelopes on.

  • @Mark B said:
Regarding the clicking, there is no amount of limiting or filtering that will prevent this. It is up to Korg to declick the envelopes if they decide it's a problem. They may say this is intended behaviour.

This is what it is doing at the moment. Mono voice changing notes.

This is a different mono synth that does not click.

That’s not intended behavior. It’s clearly a design flaw. @davis_korgrd

My 'logic' tells me to use use poly mode when a bit longer decay is needed unless it's for designing percussive sounds where the click is needed ;)

Even though this can be a issue for some users I miss the option to modulate the start position of the PCM-Waves and Drum Sounds more. I mean the position knob is enabled for PCM waves but does nothing...

What Electribe Wave could use it a few more modulation sources and maybe an extra ADSR envelope in addition to the A->gate-time->R and the 'one-shot' LFO wave.

For me personally this is a 'non issue'. Heck even the TX81z 'clicks' when used in mono mode...

Which of the Electribe Wave's two mono modes were you testing with?

I think it was Mono 1, but they both produce similar results.

    Thanks Mark for creating this.

I was almost ready to take the leap. But after a few posts demonstrating the clicking problem, I’m gonna hold of until Korg fixes it.

    Yeah me too. Shame.

Expect more sample tracks this weekend.

I for one love it so far and will hope for the best as they update it...which i am sure they will.

Problem here is adjusting envelope attack/release doesn’t solve the issue in mono modes. I suspect its down to the programming of the DSP which might make it difficult to resolve. Anyway now I have seen the info from others confirming my experience I will wait a wee bit to see if Korg do anything or get refund.

  • @[Deleted User] Fair enough.

Anyhoo, As promised, here’s a little ambient jam embracing the app with all of its flaws and ‘limitations’ :

  • It’s probably been asked, but can you sequence notes with the Kaoss pad?

Every time I make the decision to make do with the apps I have, you go and make something wonderful like this. In fact, my love just looked up from her reading and asked, “Is that yours?”
    Off the fence. Purchased.

Wondering if it (clicks on that video) is due to something about the way the sections happen, in the video if I’m not mistaken the clicks hit on the change of section

It’s only one loop. I tweaked the vinyl crackle and automated it over the single pattern...so I’m not sure what you’re hearing...maybe voice stealing...not sure.

i didn’t take that much time to focus on it since i had to get it done before the little one woke up B) :#

You can’t sequence notes- but there is plenty of other assignable goodies- I’m so taken by this app that I usually forget to use the Kaoss Pad- but when you do- it makes it even better. The grid edit for entering notes is really straightforward and you can change the notes in the blink of an eye. It’s one of the better designs I would say. I think you would probably like it.

Voice stealing is definitely a thing I’ve noticed with chords with long decays. I’m cool with that however, for unlimited sonic possibilities there’s always Gadget. This kind of thing can discipline you to try to do more with less. Then there’s Grooverider which is like beat making on the 5th dimension or something...

Again that’s really, really lovely - and exactly what I want to do with it.

The ‘vinyl crackle’ on the track - is that a deliberate effect you’ve added?

Thanks for the reply but I'm afraid not. If you create new a mono synth part and just play some notes the same issue arises with or without the sequencer running. I really like everything else about the EW and I have informed Korg so up to them if it is a priority.

How are you getting on with it? I'm ready to fall off if this click thing isn't an issue.

  • The sounds are great. I was judging entirely from the weird demo songs. But the magical workflow has not exactly revealed itself yet. Like I have no idea what the structure of the app is? I’ll figure it out. Jump in. The sounds are fine.

  • The manual is short and well worth the read to understand how everything works.

Ok cheers, may dive in tonight.

That tutorial vid by bedheadproducer was pretty good - that helped me get a handle on the workflow.

  • Thank you zpxling. It is always nice to get nice feedback. I'm not married to the track. I do a range of things, but speaking of a range, I think the various examples folks are posting is helping show what can be done with a single app in iOS. Folks seem to be bothered by the modest investment, but so many average things in this world are way more expensive.

  • @Rich303 a lot of the DSP for iER was written just for this project, so we've got some new and exciting bugs to handle as a result. ;)

The clicking is being addressed, we're planning an update for this month.
