To me this ticks so many boxes...

    • Elektron inspired seq with p locks (many claim it's present on iOS, but none of them work that way), hope it can drive external AUs as well
    • One-shot sample playback is kinda missing from AUs (Digitakt check)
    • Fm & many other synth possibilities (Digitone++ check)
    • Future Mutable Instruments modules (fingers crossed)
    • The whole thing is modular (almost infinite playground)

The only thing I would like to know is cpu hit, can it run multiple instances, how many... or even better, can AU instrument have multiple strereo outs?

All is true... There is another powerful concept behind: scenes. Scene is a module that stores every parameter of following structure, you can use any number of scenes, for anything you want.
Performance: It depends on what you built, using 8 tracks each containing Digitakt like structure takes about 15-20% on my iPad pro 1st gen. - without oversampling. You can set global oversampling like x2 x4 for pristine quality and kill CPU easily :)

As about Mutable instruments modules: I gonna add them for sure, when everything will be ready.

Hey @giku_beepstreet, I think you mentioned at some point you were considering adding recorders/samplers that could be triggered by the sequencer. Is that still part of the plan?

Yes, although usage of this functionality is beyond my imagination. If you guys are familiar with these techniques, could you describe your workflow (e.g. on octatrack)? What you do with live sampling?

Wooow... it's getting even better... maybe even my OT will become redundant (I wish it will)

To me the recorder trig is powerful because it enables

    • Perfect loops starting at any point (predefined length, or on/off by multiple trings)
    • Setup presliced playback tracks, so eg you record in 16steps loop, slice it , lock slices and parameters on the playback track, than record in a tweaked version of that loop or completely different loop and it starts playback immediately with those previous locks
    • Quick way to record/re-record your performance - e.g recorder trig on your master or sub (cue) track on the first step, length 16 steps and you arm this trig whenever you want to "update" your loop -> building up your performance

And then combine all these as you wish

@giku_beepstreet so it does/will time stretch as well?

Let me explain. (Lights a pipe and sits in a rocking chair)
In my study I used comparable products at comparable stages of release sequence.

Considering it is a relatively unknown quantity as opposed to Korg Gadget or Steinberg Cubasis it is faring very well (as far as number of views is concerned).

It is also true that when Cubasis 2 and Gadget were first released this forum’s membership would have been much lower than now. Still, great achievement @giku_beepstreet .

Maybe it’s just me but this is the only app I’m seriously excited about and have probably bought 3 apps in total in the last 12 months so I’m far from an excited puppy. I’ve spent days on end using Impaktor in the past and knowing that it will be baked into Drambo makes me even more keen.

The number of views pleases me because I totally root for the man with the limp and hope the more dosh he makes with it the more feature rich it will eventually become, and fast.

Of course I might be wrong and you might be right but that’s for another day.

No, I’m not new in more ways than one but thanks for asking. ;)

Seems like it just needs a tempo synchronized recording, or buttons that can be armed generally.

Basically yes. The way I sample/resample in OT all I need is synchronised rec arm.
For polyrhythms it's handy to have rec length and for generative experimentation an offset if the loop is "out" with the rest.

  • Got it thanks! I plan to add an app wide arm buttons mode synchronized to beat or bar. This should be enough for anything

The scenes you mentioned earlier - is it more like a preset manager/snapshot or a performance tool?(upfront, can be triggered via midi)

  • @giku_beepstreet are you still planning an early Feb release for this?

What, like this week or sooner?
    That would be unbelievable.
    Literally.

But the dev is also unbelievable, in a talent/genius sense.
So, maybe? I really want to dive in to this app, but I am feeling patient.
I think when I do get it, all f my other apps/projects are going to get neglected for a while.

He mentioned the Jan/Feb timeframe a few pages back. I don’t have any inside knowledge, just crossing my fingers and hoping like everyone else. 😊

  • Did he say Jan/Feb of a specific year?

The combination of live and beat-synced sampling with live-optimized editing is still one of the biggest differences between hardware and iOS apps.

  • At the risk of being strung up around here, lets hope it is more stable than Sunrizer and Zeeon, they are very unstable for me in BM3, AUM and Cubasis, so much so that I barely use them.

I use both in AUM on a regular basis and rarely have any problems. Aside from Zeeon being a bit cpu heavy (occasional crackles upon opening gui) everything is very stable on my end.

+1 regarding AUM + Zeeon, its stability is actually one of the major things that keep bringing me back to it

Same, I put both in the model citizen category related to stability.
