Same for me but not if you search for them in appstore. Then its 14.99.
I have an Air2 as well, my IPad didn’t get hot fast before, but it did today, running what’s in the attached pic, and also an instance of Taipei not being shown in the pic and Animoog.Maybe I shouldn’t have been running Animoog? I was just running it to see how controlling synths outside of Gadget works. I’m liking it a lot,
Check.
So if I want to buy Gadget for Mac how much is it?
....and I would think Korg would maybe post here since this is iOS app epicenter.
I’ve tweeted at them, and also sent an email to their customer service. If I hear something I’ll report back

Good, keep us up to date please.... if I knew beforhand projects were not backwards compatible and the Mac version costs 99$ (coupon ? how so ?), I certainly wouldn't have updated my iOS devices.
Ok, so where is the VCA ADSR hiding in Pompei?! 🤔
Hmmm, that might work for *.wav files but what about *.rx2 files?
Is there anyway to 'force' Gadget 2 to re-scan it's folder structure?
🖐️
Disagree. I have an original MS20 here and the iMS20 is spot on.
it sounds thin compared to Moogs, because it’s supposed to.
Tks
Someone named Robin Tindell (member of this forum?) posted this on the FB KORG Gadget Users Group, and frankly it makes no sense to me. Unless the price of Gadget for Mac has steadily increased, this seems like a penalty on early adopters.
“Gadget 2 upgrade is free if you purchased Gadget for Mac in January since KORG's announcement of it.
Gadget 2 upgrade will cost $49 if you purchased Gadget for Mac in December 2018.
If you purchased Gadget for mac before that, the upgrade will cost $99.99
It's not to do with the sale as far as I know, it's to do when you purchased the original Gadget for Mac.”
🖐️ back at ya!
@SevenSystems
> The previous color scheme always reminded me a bit of the old Borland IDEs (Turbo C) :)
Which is a great thing, isn't it? 😄
I enjoy making phone calls from my iPhone better than on my iPad, so that's why I have both. 😂
New Jersey is actually sunny today but cold. I'm always blue living here though...😉
Well I was only really talking about the iOS version as we are on an IOS forum. the Mac version has had free updates until now and I believe the price point between them during sales is actually similar if you add up all the extra gadgets you have to purchase separately on iOS
but I agree $100 on this update for Mac seems a bit steep when past updates maybe seemed to include more for free at the time. But I guess you don’t HAVE to upgrade.
Likewise....a little gutted though....at Christmas I sold my MS20 usb controller believing iMS20 to be left on the shelf.
The update seems good on the face of it but am missing the updated main screen, just colours and names....what happened to seeing all your tracks status at a glance ?
was hoping this would make gadget more useable for making full tracks....sadly for me this hasn’t improved enough....Gadget is at least back on the table...and being used, albeit in a getting stuff from one place to somewhere else capacity mainly. Exporting MIDI to Cubasis or audio loops to blocs wave.
The MIDI out is a nice addition that means the midi export won’t need to happen as early as before in the building process.
Maybe not for music? ;) Current IDE is also blueish and yellowish, but not quite as garish (granted, CGA text modes didn't offer much in terms of customizability :D)
We mostly agree, but...
I will HAVE to upgrade to Gadget 2 on Mac if I wish to continue getting updates going forward, as it is a completely separate piece of software.
Yeah that’s true and if you want parity between the 2 systems you have to pay
I’m still debating on purchasing the Mac version was waiting for this paid upgrade version to see what was new first. Just received an email about a Reason upgrade sale for a decent price so might go that route myself and wait on the next Gadget Mac upgrade
Borland!!!
My favorite job/company ever!
I worked there for seven years - loved every minute.
I don’t get it, which new drum machine are we talking about?
Add me to the list of Gadget for Mac users disappointed in the upgrade pricing. I purchased Gadget for Mac when it still had the $199 introductory pricing. When I read about Gadget 2 last month I figured the Mac version wouldn't be a free upgrade because there hadn't yet been any in-app purchases offered. Mac users just kept getting the updates and new gadgets for free. So it seemed certain that the Gadget 2 for Mac upgrade would be a paid one. Like others here I thought $50 seemed like a good bet. Now that we know what, exactly, this upgrade is offering $50 definitely seems like a fair price whereas $99 seems a bit on the steep side.
What makes no sense to me is:
Semi-related why haven't they added the Ivory Piano to Gadget for Mac? Seems like an odd omission to me.
Hopefully this gets resolved soon. In the meantime at least there's the iPad version to play with.
Propellerheads absolutely nailed their timing and marketing of Reason to coincide with the Gadget release. Seeing a lot of people considering Reason over Gadget right now. I received the Lite version as part of a previous KORG purchase, but I personally never got into it, but I know people who love it.
Another benefit of Reason, is you can run the Gadgets as VST’s if you get them at a later date.
Wow I figured it out! Loving the Drumjam feature for Drums!!!

Actually I had a super-modern VGA monitor already, with light grey background, dark blue code and green comments - customisation that Gadget can only dream of in 2019 😂
@Crawlingwind
Wow. Must have been a great time. Are you an iOS developer now?
I owned an original MS20 until it crapped out on me and currently own Korg desktop versions of the MS20 and Odyssey. I also had the original Legacy Collection, inclusive of midi controller clone - until the temptation got the better of me ref the ridiculously inflated second hand value of the midi controller! (kept the desktop plugins, it was just the controller which found it's way to eBay).
I'm fully aware of the difference between Moog's Ladder filter design and Korgs "Korg-35" (and later their LM13600) filter designs.
I find the MS20 desktop clone a little too polite in comparison to the original one. I find this MS20 filter clone https://intellijel.com/shop/eurorack/morgasmatron/ to be far closer to the screaming beast I cut my (semi) modular teeth on. The Intellijel kit is so good I have one in pride of place in my rack, which I purchased after falling in love with it's software emulation in the Softube Modular plugin. You could say I'm something of an MS20 fan... (I would say boy but that's not quite apt, considering the amount of grey hair on my noggins)
That's not to say I regret the purchase of the MS20 desktop clone, it's still a spectacular bit of kit. And getting back to iOS, I still like iMS20 (and find use for it on occasion) but only Odyssei holds up to comparison with it's hardware clone IMHO. If truth be known, I'm more than a little disappointed that Korg didn't take the opportunity to create v2 versions of their MS20 and PolySix emulations (they could have kept the existing emulations for backwards compatibility). What they pulled of with the Odyssei was spectacular. I know a few producers that used to get all sniffy when discussing iOS devices as serious music production kit, that changed their their opinion off the power of Odyssei alone. And unfortunately, iMS20 and iPolySix don't come anywhere close to the quality of the Odyssey emulation. In fact, I'd say some of the stock Gadgets are better analog emulations than iMS20 and iPolySix.
But all things are subjective, and my deaf old ears may be wrong. ;)
