@gregsmith thanks for those details. Unfortunately, that will be extremely hard for me to test because I don't currently have access to an iPad Pro 11", and it is not possible to install 3rd party applications (like Audiobus) in the simulator.

@Michael, could you check on this?

Hmm, strange! I'm afraid I don't have the hardware to test this either - it's working fine on my iPad Air 2, though, on 13.1. Anyone else seeing this?

Here’s some screenshots to hopefully help with the unresponsive screen problem.

I’ve added a red dotted line to each. As you can see, I’m able to hide the AB switcher, but even when it’s hidden I still can’t touch anything on that part of the screen. This includes the up/down control when inside a clip, and the done button.

  • @gregsmith and the right side is only blocked when Xequence is loaded as part of an Audiobus session, not when launched standalone?

I almost certainly can't do anything about it then 😧

@crony the "Send via air drop" thing is also quite odd, but I'll try to find a workaround when I'm back from holidays!

Yep, if I load standalone it’s fine. There’s no way to temporarily disable the AB bar altogether is there?

    @Michael - just making sure you’re seeing this ;)

Just an update on this issue: Thanks to @Michael and his world-record problem solving skills, this will be fixed in the next Xequence update, which should be available in a timeframe of 24-48 hours, if no more unforeseen problems occur ;)

  • So i created the named regions but is there an easy way to make a region longer with out affecting the others? Thanks in advance.🤗

    Like Intro, Verse, Chorus, Etc?

Was watching some tutorial videos for song structure and i really think this would be huge at least for me since i’m more of a visual person.

Please forgive me if this was asked before. Thank you for this most amazing app! 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️☝️😌

    Tip o’ the day...
Make a dummy track and move it to the top of the playlist. Now paint in clips at the lengths you want, and then name them as you would region labels.

Normally, you can just use the length handle at the bottom of the arranger screen...? That shouldn't affect any other clips. If you have a looped clip, then it will however affect all the loops as well and you would need to "PROCESS" -> "Convert Loops to Clips" first.

  • Thanks! I have to admit, having so little time, I jump in and start figuring things as i go; but will have to learn this as its a new way for me doing more structured music instead of endless loops.❤️🤗

No problem at all of course! If you can be a bit more specific or maybe post a Screenshot, I'll be happy to help further...

  • Thanks i will.❤️🤗

Been having a blast recording midi from Jamstik into X2!

Just updated and it’s all good, thanks so much for sorting!

  • @SevenSystems I'm begging you, make the IOS ecosystem a better place to live :D
These are my feature requests that I've prioritize for my needs:

1.Markers with midi control, and wait till the end of looping
2.Start/stop button by midi control independent of Link
(so it won't send a stop to all the system...meaning all my iPads, but it would start/restart based on Link cycle)
    3.Mute tracks by midi
    4.Solo track by midi
5.BPM live modulation without stopping X2 (I found a workaround with Launchpad app at the moment, as I guess it's the most difficult thing to integrate)
OR , maybe a way to integrate an empty bar that defines a new BPM and then that would catch the next Link cycle, so in time, with a blank, but not stopping everything...Hope that make sense...

  • Hello,

Sorry if it has been asked...But I'm looking for a quick way to import a midi part of a track produced and saved into X2.
ATM I have to export the .mid to the folder, then I'm going to the folder, then open with X2, and there it asks to insert it in my song.
So is it possible to save my .mid into X2, then click on it into the X2 folder then import and insert it ? (if I double tap it opens this short midi track as a new song...
    Thanks :)

You can insert a midi file from the arranger screen.

Or copy/ paste midi note info from the piano roll.

Hopefully either of these will suit your scenario.

For this one you just need to disable Link Start/Stop to keep Stop from sending a Link Stop to other apps. Or, better yet, disable Link Start/Stop in the other apps.

Or, you could disable Link altogether in X2 and just use midi clock start/stop from another source.

Or, disable Link Start/Stop (but keep Link on) in X2, then host X2 in Audiobus, and midi-learn the X2 start/stop button in Audiobus.

  • @SpookyZoo thanks, perfect ! :)

    @wim thanks ! I thought X2 didn't react on midi clock in...I'm going to try that... :)

Yes, unfortunately. I'd be uber-happy to see MIDI clock slave support in Xequence 2 because many audio recorders can only send clock, but AFAIR it's not going to happen soon... :'(
It would "automatically" add Start/Stop/Continue MIDI control as wished by @crony as well.

I also like @crony's suggested MIDI-controlled, beat/bar-synced jumping to markers. Combined with loop mode, that would be a little bit like having Ableton scenes to work with spontaneously.

Who knows what happens when @SevenSystems has settled again on firm ground ;)

  • Most of the ground I’ve tread upon in Ireland has been rather mushy.

  • @rs2000 @wim yes, sorry to say but currently, there's a bit of a personal crisis and I can't say when major development on features for Xequence can commence again. (I currently cannot work at all apart from absolute emergencies (which would include Xequence bug fixes)).

Will update when stuff clears up!

  • Hello,

    Got another dumb question...
How can you reorganize midi tracks ? I mean move track 3 on top of the screen to let's say track 1 ? (not just the midi, the all instrument...)

An other feature request would be to have folders for midi tracks, to clean, and have things organized... (as I'm so messy...) :)

You can tap on the "..." button on a track to open its menu, then there'll be up / down buttons to move it around.

The same is true for instruments (left / right buttons).

Note though that if "Automatically manage tracks" is enabled, then the order of instruments and tracks is linked and cannot be separated.

  • @SevenSystems thanks !
Well I hope you're gonna be okay with whatever you're going thru :(

+1 Good luck with your troubles, @SevenSystems . Top dev 👍

  • All the best @SevenSystems. I sincerely hope things start to look up for you soon.

Fortunately, you make rock solid apps that don't seem to need a huge amount of maintenance. So at least there's that.

  • edited October 2019

@wim thank you. Maintenance will still be done as far as possible. Heavy work is underway to clear things up ASAP.
