Some love for Samplebot
Hi everyone,
In the recent months, many new apps have been released with more features than Samplebot.
But I still enjoy it's simplicity. One of the thing I like is that when working with longer samples, it's easy to adjust their length in the sequence by just shortening their segment in the timeline.
For instance the "you asked for it" sample (in blue) in the example below.
Don't hesitate to post your favorite Samplebot feature.

I have Loopy but I have not really used it yet.
I love Samplebot’s built-in sequencer. Being able to fix up timing errors is something I miss in Koala.
If samples could be played and sequenced chromatically I’d use it all the time.

Never trigger my interest samplebot but I was asking why do you think future is more samplebot? (I understand related to your workflow but anyways... tell me! Tell us!)
My future/present workflow is GTL for looping bur for sampling is BlocsWave... but I look into others approaches to keep me learning

The main strong points of Samplebot are that it's simple, easy to use and a lot of fun (and very coloful). But I guess it lacks some features that some people may want. For instance, the ability to store different patterns in a single project.
Of course, if more features are added, it becomes less simple. One feature that I have asked for though is the ability to globally (or per pad) disable time-stretching in "Settings".
I think that automatic time-stretching when changing the tempo of a project is not always useful and even if it can be compensated at the pad level by changing the playback speed, to be able to disable it globally would be helpful, at least when working with imported samples like in the example I posted.
Michael (Samplebot's creator, in case someone does not know) said that he would add this setting in the future.
It really is a great app. Want to place a variety of samples on a timeline the length of your choosing then move them around easily without being surrounded in clutter, yet still have adequate editing? Samplebot will do exactly that for you.
And while we’re on about it. It also supports split view so you can very easily import your samples without having to move back and forward between apps.

no. separate outs would be nice.
doesn't export individual channels either.
export seems to be .m4a only.

Sorry to be the party popper but as things stand the future is neither SB or Loopy or GTL for that matter. The future is Audio Units yet the only AU looper there is, is ENSO and that’s not the future either, at least not mine.
I know the mighty loopy 3 will eventually come out but now, in the present (which is not the future) I’m going to go back to my man cave to play with my (now) Loopy. Loopy that’s now 6, 7 or even 8 years old?

Hey, just grumbling for grumbling's sake. I'm in the middle of having a mancave (albeit one up in the sky) built 'out back' here and largely to play Samplebot in peace etc etc. Can't hardly wait....
AUv3 is the future for sure and a loopy AU will be amazing... but meanwhile I prefer monolithic approach (whatever looper app) and I still have the doubt about how SB substitute loopy?
It was explained anywhere? I have lots of notifications from the launchpads topic and I could have lost some from other topics like this...

I've tried to do it up in the sky but short haul don't suit it. Also I don't seem to like to create when I can't use all of my tools (voice, guitar) in that flux/escitment of putting a track together.
Well, our ADU (when it's finally done) will also have sleeping quarters, a soaking tub and a full kitchen, so if you're ever this way we'll have a place for you to get your flux/escitment going
Have you got EG Pulse? The update has added easy inter-app/mic sampling and can now sit in the FX slot.
If you draw in a full length note in the sequencer, you can record onto the associated pad and use it as a looper.
All AU, so you can have a few going. I had a bit of fun with it this morning.
