This again, and in ipadOS. Anyone found a pattern to this other than number of files? I’ve been searching within the Files app for duplicates, strange characters in file names etc etc. Weird that this is mostly a problem with audio people.
Also, if you haven't reported this, please do so it's a priority for them to get it fixed. The new beta feedback app shows similar open bug reports and there are apparently none.
Yah it is a pain and a shame that ipasOS seems to still exhibit it. Mine cleared up when I backed up and deleted my BM3 sessions folder. This folder, while large-ish (I guess) was way smaller than the samples folder. So yah, no real specific pattern.
@AudioGus I also have a feeling it’s BM3 related. Is your sample folder in the Files app, or in Audioshare? I think Audioshare is safer as it installs in the Files app differently.

Ah yeah, that’s what I meant. For some reason Audioshare doesn’t show a folder in “on my iPad,” but the files are local. I was gonna put the files in it for that reason, but pretty sure Audioshare doubles a lot of files when “moving” them around. Next step, is to gut BM3 and stick the samples straight in the files app.
Any luck with this? It’s driving me crazy.

I just had this happen for the first time, I was like wtf. Restarting fixed the issue. Is it recurring for others?
Do you have any folders with a huge number of files or folders in them?
How many pages of apps do you have?
To solve temporary just deactivate “on my Mac” and reactivate.
Unfortunately the problem is still present on iOS 13 though it occurs less frequently.
For me the big number of files seems to be the problem.
This appears to be fixed for me in iPadOS 13.1, iPad Pro 10.5 first gen.
I put my BM3 files into Audioshare and don’t get it now. I can still access those same files with BM3 from the Audioshare folder via the files app.
Fingers crossed for now.
It feels like there is some app that is misbehaving. Perhaps it is just a bug.
That was my behavior, too. It was just the “on my iPad” files that weren’t appearing, but I could see them from individual apps.
Hi, I’m on the latest OS and still get this warning constantly trying to use the files app.
I have a large library of samples that I airdropped as a zip from desktop and opened in BM3.
If anyone has any advise that would be great. I can see the other suggestions in this thread for deleting BM3 and maybe moving files from “on my iPad” into AudioShare.... but is that really the only option?
This happened to me when trying to copy files from a folder in AudioShare to Grooverider folder in “on my iPad”. Latest iPad OS 13.1.3
It took several attempts . Then I noticed that some of the sample folders in the original parent folder were getting the content unavailable error. Only way I’ve been able to restore these samples was to unzip the original zip to a new location in AudioShare. The original folders still display this error.
So, AudioShare does not seem safe in this regard either....

I’ve been trying to move a load of serum wave tables into GR16 from my AudioShare folder and it’s a slow painful unreliable experience. Given up at about half of them and I now have a long list in GR16 (would prefer sub folders tbh)
Side note does anyone out there know any other synths that support serum wavetable import?
I was also planning to copy a load of samples into NS2 but this constant warning for any folder with more than a few samples in it is driving me crazy... probably easier to zip them and try opening in NS2 but not sure about that either.
I was hoping OS13 files would be usable but so far it’s acting like there isn’t enough memory or something... I’m using latest Air 3

@no1normal ..,GR16 supports subfolders.
For wavetable? For samples I managed to have sub folders... but all I could do to import wavetables was add them to the ‘wave’ folder and now I have one giant list and no idea what’s what!

This bug is frustrating the hell out of me.
I’m organising folders in the Files app and only get 2 or 3 mins before this bug buggers everything up. Files app goes blank and can only be ‘fixed’ by turning the iPad off and back on.
Anybody worked out a temporary solution?
I’m on iOS 12 but it sounds like folk are still having the issue on 13/iPadOS.

Do you have an app that has deep file structures?
I had the issue all the time with iOS 12.
I had it initially with iOS 13 but not any more. I think a recent update may have improved it or maybe also some sort of gradual re-indexing of files took place.
Anyway, as @Gravitas mentioned, deep file structures felt like it exposed the issue and for me, yes, my BM3 is huge. But like I say smooth sailing for me for many months now with iOS 13 and my BM3 structure has grown by thousands of files and 40 gigs more since. I say give iOS 13 a try if you can.
