It depends on your current age and life expectancy, combined with how optimistic you are.

    Best reply, mate!!!

Bought Circle of Fifths and Audio Damage channel strip. Looking for any other MIDI apps/functions (the main thing I use iOS for these days... The AD plugin was more support for the developer).

    This one?

    https://apps.apple.com/app/id1242467844#?platform=ipad

If yes, could you tell me how much are IAP? Thanks at advance.

Wow - what an amazing app, thanks for posting the link. Definitely the best scale and chord app I've yet seen.

I really like the design of this app.... but why is it soo good and why should I need it. Convince me ;)

Anyone suggestion what's the best delay on sale right now

I think you've missed it... Klevgrd's apps don't seem to be on sale anymore at this time, but I picked up Modley 2 days ago and I have to say that this delay is simply fantasticaly magical... and so deep !

I was interested in this one. What was the sale price?

Well, it has some really nice features:

You can use it to write chord progressions, which it can play back at any tempo. You are not limited to in-key chords.

You can use it to look up scales

You can also use it to look up modes

And of course you can transpose everything at the touch of a dial.

It's just a very slick and useful app if you're into songwriting IMO.

I don't know why, but Atom was supposed to be half off today as well, for a week. If you were planning to buy it, hold off for a little while while I attempt to fix this with Apple.

@blueveek Weird this app should be on sale till today (Black Friday 29th) but it is already back to it's original price.

Really pity, tipped a few people of this morning through twitter that ATOM is in Black Friday sales. Apple messing up again with dates? Maybe it could be fxed today or you could do a small correction with extended sale till cybermonday.

Totally agreed not sure how this one slipped below the radar but it’s a joy to use well worth the sale price and scales IAP. Great for midi export and “open in” into your favorite iOS DAW.

    Thanks for finding it. @fjcblanco

Amazing tool. Never looked at it in detail! Love it. Midi export is golden!
Maybe nice for practicing scales, improvisation and timing/rhythm. Coo app

Agreed. Great little app. MIDI export in the standard app and 80 extra scales and PDF export for live players as reasonable IAP. Really slick UI. Can show notes and chords for piano, guitar, ukulele and bass.

I've always wanted to experiment with modes, and with this app it's super easy: set the scale to Myxolodian (for example) and write a chord progression. All the notes are clearly labelled on the keyboard so you can write a melody (later, in another app) easily. Export the chord progression MIDI and develop further in your sequencer of choice. And it does voice-leading too. It's great.

I saw the app description says "Check out chord statistics related to the current mode.". Do you know what this is? Has it done some analysis on a large collection of songs, perhaps? Or is it just statistics related to your usage.

I'm also wondering how much overlap in functionality this has with the Tonality app, but I haven't studied either of them.

I think it just means that it shows you the chords for the current mode as well as the notes.

According to appSliced, $8.99 is the sale price.
Perhaps it is back on sale cause, yesterday Reamp was double priced than today on the french appStore.

Not having Samplr on an iPad is a huge problem. I just shivered at the thought.

  • edited November 2019

@bleep In general they have some similar information (chords, modes, related chords in a scale, guitar charts, circle of fifths, etc.), but ultimate circle of fifths is designed more for creating songs within the app, while tonality is a reference tool with more MIDI AUv3 functionality and music theory learning tools. Tonality has many more chords and such (and pads for messing around with progressions), but ultimate COF lays out the basics in a way that’s nice for quickly making songs. I also really like its GUI. Of course you might want someone else’s opinion ;)

  • Thanks for the breakdown! Sounds like a fair comparison.

You gotta win a gajillion brownie points for this fair and positive assessment of a competing app - FWIW I also really like Tonality, it just serves a different purpose to Ultimate Circle Of Fifths. Everyone should buy both, today!

That was indeed a great tip with Ultimate Circle of Fifths. Never heard of it before, which is strange given how slick and well put together this app is. Great buy, and my biggest surprise of the day. Thanks!

Yeah, I wish we had that kind of deal.. might find 10% off here + there..🙁 but that also keeps me from buying every shiny thing that pops up in front of my face.. especially during Black Friday.. well, that and lack of funds I suppose.. 😆

  • Hmm this morning I read about Fabfilter having a sale but here in the Netherlands I cannot see a price difference. The complete bundle is still above €100 (while I already own Pro Q2 & 3).

+1 on the kudos to @TonalityApp. I bought em both and like em both!

  • I'd sort of ignored circle of fifths because my music theory is good enough that I don't really need a chord suggester. However, it's also really good for just playing around with chord progressions - and when you go outside the key, it does a nice job of telling you how far out you've gone.

It's good - even music nerds will like it.

At Costco Canada, right now you can get the $100 itunes for 79.99 in store.
Online, they have it right now at 83.99 and the 25 is 20.99

The discount is only thing that makes the 40% Apple exchange mark-up somewhat bearable.

Hmmm, thanks for that info.. I’m not a Costco member but might know someone that is..

It’s a shame, but it’s keeping me from wanting to spend all my money. I did pick up GR-16 partly because Pure Acid is so good, but the FF bundle is far too rich for my blood.

I have been considering MagicDeathEye though. It seems like a great price for something that sounds so good. Also I have enough iOS synths that I’m not using...
