its a good point, i use dropbox but i cant say i am so happy with it, sound quality was complete garage for streaming, improved a little recently. It does however work with ios apps, I might use Amazon but can this also be used natively with ios apps?
Nope, Dropbox
Brand salience. Marketing works. The thing is that Dropbox, for whatever reason, integrates better with more software than any other I know.
They also do custom business solutions.
I still use Dropbox for similar reasons I still use AUM so much - hard to pinpoint any specific features or technical parameters, since in theory other solutions offer more, but the streamlined workflow and overall UX is still hard to beat and the main reason I can’t imagine switching to iCloud or Google Drive.
BTW I might be missing some details, but I think that with the recent iOS and Files app integration it doesn’t really matter which storage are you using if you stick to the built-in system Document Picker functionality? Whenever I want to import (or export) something to Audioshare I just use the Document Picker where I can easily access files from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or even Beatmaker3 files (hidden inside “On my iPad”). I understand that for some features (like storing presets or samples) it’s much better to have direct access to the file system covered with custom UI, so IMHO what makes sense the most is to use the local file storage for such things and Document Picker for import/export.
Yeah, that's the main reason for me. It's the most ubiquitously supported storage. Plus, at least the last I compared, it had the best feature set with selective syncing, a must with larger tiers and desktop syncing, and version history.
OK. I have reached my tolerance for hearing about this app without being able to have a play. Are there TestFlight slots available?
My main gripe with commercial cloud storage services is that most of them (OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox...) don't follow an open standard which means that:
First, to be supported by an app, the developer has to integrate (ideally) all of them but also keep maintaining them as long as the app is out in the wild, or users just won't be able to use it anymore when something changes (new protocol, expired certificates and their renewal etc).
Second, you cannot set up a local server over WiFi. No internet means no access to your data.
You can try here
I guess it’s not out yet then. ??????
On the way to 200 hundred pages before Drambo goes live
I look forward to 95 pages of people asking if it’s out or for beta invites. I’m starting to miss preset sharing.
Man, preset sharing is a good idea!
A new section on Patchstorage could be requested, beta testers could upload their greatest creations and when Drambo goes public, people have some additional material at hand to get familiar with it.
@giku_beepstreet What do you think about it?
@Beta testers: Got stuff to share?
So... whatcha doin?

@rs2000 and others
I got in when Dropbox was giving away space to you when you solved little riddles and tested stuff. I doubt I’ll give it up. But I’ve looked into Open source alternatives...

I didn’t know this, so thanks for this. I will definitely be giving this a whirl.
Agreed! I have a synology NAS setup. Would be interesting to see how this could be integrated.
Definitely.
Tonight is the night?😂

Grmmmmmmm
That’s great to hear, what’s the latest ETA though?... or has that sort of thing been dropped?
Starting to sound like back in 2015 when I thought I’d be getting a new Tool album.
Looking forward to Drambo in 4 years.

So long as it isn't the follow up to MBV's Loveless.
Drambo will be your first efficient nuclear fusion reactor
Damn. That's not going to get past the crack Apple technology censors.
We will have to Jailbreak our iPads and run bootlegs.
Better bootlegs than no legs at all.
Is it possible you are unaware of how annoying this comes off? It's kind of amazing! 😎 😁
