manual is for those holding beta I believe....
What do you mean? The manual is right there
So if the manual has been released, can the app be too far behind?
Now now, let’s not jump to conclusions. It was said that this is an updated manual, not the final manual. I’m sure there has been a manual for a while for the beta testers.
We had a basic plan. This is a manual for the app .. looks pretty good eh.
Sure, sure. But the manual is now released to the AB forum at large, so maybe not too far off...
Indeed - and easy to understand!
I have a question for anyone who can answer. On pages 17-18, the manual reads "You may connect modules in almost any way you want by tapping on the input socket and selecting any output socket you want."
Does this mean that it's possible to modulate any knob, even without the universal MIDI learn being in 1.0? Are the little triangles just there for convenience, and for pointing beginners toward the knobs that are safer to experiment with? It seems like "which knobs don't get a triangle" is determined by which knobs are most capable of causing CPU or volume spikes. Am I understanding this correctly?
Or is it more like: the knobs without triangles can only be modulated by hand, and when MIDI learn is added, by a second instance of Drambo?
The input socket is not a knob, it's an input for the kind of signal that its icon indicates.
It can be an audio source, a timing signal, a MIDI message, or a floating-point value of a MIDI note, a gate signal or a velocity level.
Only knobs with triangles next to them can be modulated, and they can be modulated at audio rate if you like. In some cases you have different modules built for a similar purpose while one has modulation triangles next to some knobs and the other one doesn't.
Note that you're allowed to add more than one mod source and adjust the positive/negative modulation amounts separately.
All knobs can be automated in the sequencer or included in a scene morph though, just not at audio rate.

..whoot, manual!
The mob wait for the app of their lives and you give them a manual? Some people....😬
He wrote the manual now he needs to write the app.
It’s a development practice called MDD

Thanks @rs2000, that's definitely helpful. When you say "at audio rate" do you mean like, they can be modulated at high frequencies, such as those outputted by the regular oscillators? When you say "automated in the sequencer", is it like Bleass Alpha's motion sequencer, or can you record smooth movements? And, can I attach an envelope to the scene morph slider?
So basically, the general rule for the triangles is: if it shouldn't be modulated by a "high frequency" oscillator or steep envelope, then it can't be modulated by a low frequency oscillator or gradual envelope? (Until external LFOs can be used.)
Either way, I'm going to love Drambo. And you said "In some cases you have different modules built for a similar purpose while one has modulation triangles next to some knobs and the other one doesn't." So maybe there's hope for a triangle on every knob. And if not, then with MIDI learn on its way, I could just make patches that use two instances. Double Drambo.
Thank you very much! Look forward for the release!

If you like the manual and mockup videos, I gonna start implementation ASAP.
After reading the manual, Drambo looks like Elektron sequencer meets Nord Modular's easy modular patchablity!
But no trigless locks? so parameters can be p-locked to a step without triggering the synth/sample?
😂
Tired of all this..
You only cause stress, anxiety..
Bye
Of course, there are trigless locks and the manual needs to be updated
Thanks
A clever way to run QA on the manual.
this has to be a sign that the drambo is close right!?!? 😎
Amazing! Not gonna ask about trigless trigs yet.
If you’re getting stressed and anxious about the release of an app, I’d recommend you talk to someone. Legit. That’s not healthy.
Yeah, with everything going on the rampant entitlement on ABF is really tiresome.
This thread is 90% useless, but ignore it if you don't like it. There will be half a page of Drambo threads when it's released. You aren't going to miss it by not reading this thread every hour.
Y'all keep pissing off people with this app... Anyway...
Dumbo will be released on the 25th of March...
Oh... that was two years ago...
Let’s see, can anyone here think of an app that wasn’t hyped before release and came out with missing features and unresolved bugs?
Steinberg remembers. Look at the flak they still get for CB3.
Can you really blame someone for not wanting that?
