  • Nanostudio goes bye bye

  • Yeah, Sample Lab... Never got an update since I bought it...

Oh, just remembered Seline. One of first apps I ever got when I first got an iPhone. Unique synth interface. Reminds me of Avatar for some reason.

I actually have been trying to clean house on iPhone and deleted 20-30 apps to focus on ones I need an love the the most. It worked as I've been creating a lot more past few days vs learning how to do this or that on apps that I wasn't even using that much to begin with.

  • @mandrakonian - what you mean, "Nanostudio goes bye bye". It just updated with Virtual MIDI In and AudioBus. NS2 to come Real Soon Now. Far from abandoned.

  • Animoog for iPhone needs iphone 5 and Audiobus......Zzz........still we wait....

  • @DaveMagoo I wonder if there will be anything connected to AudioBus is the coming iOS 7 reveal at WWDC.

  • Sounds intriguing....;)

  • Too bad, I just received the following statement from the developers of Studio HD, Meta DJ and other apps:

    "Dear Sound Trends Customers,

It is with a very heavy heart that we have decided to officially stop new development on our apps and to focus our attention elsewhere. It has been a great run the past 4+ years. Now we simply reached a point where we cannot justify the costs of continuing to advance our products.

We sincerely appreciate your support with everything from the first version of Looptastic in 2009 to the most recent update of meta DJ in 2012. We could not have built these inspired products without your help. Thank you for your emails, positive reviews, encouragement, and most importantly your business. You enabled us to do what we love for several awesome years. It is incredibly rewarding hearing your stories of enjoyment and creative pursuits.

Looking forward, we plan to keep all our products online including all of the Loop Sets in our Loop Store. However, the time may come when the costs of keeping the lights on outweigh the incoming revenue.

In closing, let me thank you again for your caring and support. We truly appreciate it.

    Sincerely,

    Aaron Higgins

    President

    Sound Trends LLC"

  • I think this is a direct result of the "buy once, free updates forever" culture.

  • @paulb me too. What a shame. Maybe they'll throw them on GitHub!

  • About Cassini, the dev says:

"I have some problems with supporting audiobus. I have been trying to solve the problems but not yet. I will need more time." Sincerely, Satoshi Taneda

  • @gjcyrus , isn't Seline on the bus already? Too bad about Studio HD. I like that one honestly.

  • I just found this discussion, but I actually wrote an in-depth post on this about 3 months back: http://musicin2d.com/post/42633186829/endangered-apps-list

If you have comments, bring them back over here. I'm not looking to redirect the convo. Thanks :)

  • good comments on @iclifDotMe's article.

  • RE: Samplelab ... expecting this any day now - but I have a feeling that Audiobus will not be supported. I remember reading a post somewhere from the developer saying he wasn't planning on it. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed he changed his mind on this - cause I find this app very useful and it would be great in the Input slot...

  • SampleWiz and MorphWiz will have Audiobus support soon, finally. How do I know? Because I just implemented it for Jordan :)

  • Wow! Great news! Thanks!

  • Nice! Thanks for the insight @sonosaurus.

  • @sonosaurus Oh man oh man...thank YOU so much... that is definitely cool news!

  • Great news! Must be fun working with Jordan too.

  • @sonosaurus eek! So geo controlling samplewiz thru audiobus? Finally! Nice one.

  • That takes care of the 10 sec record limit on Samplewiz. Now if they could just make it stereo (like Samplr). It uses the delay to achieve a spread but its not the same thing. I've harped on this before, but with mono I always feel like I'm wasting an ear.

  • I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Samplr. It seems like a really popular app, and I've read quite a few people say it was the tipping point to get them interested in iOS music making. I think it has been almost a year since the last update. :(

  • Samplr is not abandoned thankfully, here is post from developer from about a month ago on ios musician facebook group:
    Marcos Alonso
Hi everyone! I understand your concerns and I know I've been very quiet lately. I needed some time to work on some personal issues and new projects. I am working on a new update but it's not ready yet (the lack of updates is not related to my new full-time job, Samplr started as a personal project I developed in my spare time an that hasn't changed). Thank you so much for your support and understanding.

  • Akai Synthstation...

  • Audio Effects.
Dev says"Not sure if and when this will be updated again"

  • @fjcblanco said:

    Akai Synthstation...

Yup. Definitely on the regret list.
