    Not even for one shots?

And any time stretching for one shots?

Sooo looking fwd! Hopefully there will be presets for midi settings for midi maps.
And hopefully easy import/export of audio

    Yeah I’ll be doing that

    Great news! Any due date?

It’s been years iOS musicians are begging for an audio clip launcher.
Will it be the one ?

For one shots, I’ll probably make it an option (it’s currently monophonic though, so playing a second time moves the play head).

    Yep, it has time stretching.

Nothing hard yet, but nearing the finish line now.

  • @Michael Just wanted to say I'm excited for this app whenever it releases! Loopy (and Audiobus) were what got me into iOS music in the first place, before I even considered development.

  • @Michael is the ios gateway drug.

  • 😄 Cool!

Hubba hubba. This was really unexpected.

Any chance we can peak at the Customize screen?

Don’t distract him! 😉 (I considered asking the same.)

Lets you specify custom actions for each interaction (like send a midi command, etc)

Inorite? Sorry! It was actually intended to save time (in my muddled, fiendish mind anyway). As in "Any chance we can peak at the Customize screen in hopes it answers a few of 85 questions I'm dying to pester you with right now?

Do ask as many questions as you like though – they’re all very useful to me! I’m actually a total Luddite when it comes to music tech (the most modern music tech that I have anything to do with is my fiddle), so I do tend to rely on you guys to help plug the holes in my knowledge 😄

    Cool!

Does the ‘grid’ also have an editable sequencer connected to it?
In practice that would make each ‘loop’ a placeholder for a sound that can be sequenced.

If it’s a yes does the equencer also record automation of all the onscreen controls and make them easily editable?

    I know it’s a feature creep warning 😎

Not yet, but that's coming along with the MIDI stuff (basically, a track can be an 'instrument' controlled by a MIDI track). Until then, you can resample any group of tracks (along with their effects) into a new track.

Aye, capn, resampling will work for the V1 no problem at all. And this is why I'm interested in randomizing playback between tracks in a group. Take 2-3 resamples of a beat as you do in the video and "print them" to, say, 3 tracks. Then playback randomizes between those three so you get a nice varied beat that doesn't cause ear fatigue.

Any chance we could get a screen shot for how you set up each "slice"?

This is shaping up to align nearly perfectly with my dream workflow!

  • Can we just stop and appreciate @Michael ’s beatboxing skills ?

Would be cool if the widgets could act similar to the loops but for recording hand gestures instead of audio. Like if you could just pick a record length like with normal loops and then record touches on that widget until it starts looping. Then you'd have loopy audio, midi, AND automation!

  • So what will arrive first Loopy Pro or Atom 2? 😬 All these teasers are making me itchy.

  • almost certainly atom 2 i would think. but ya if both of these drop in 2021 its gonna be a damn good year for ios music making

  • First question and probably a stupid one, but I can't seem to find the answer. Will Loopy Pro have multiple inputs and the ability to apply different effects to each input?

  • Even if it doesn’t have that capability in standalone mode (which is very unlikely), you will be able to route multiple inputs in AUM. Loopy Pro will be auv3.

I thought I understood what you are working on, but what is the grid doing here?

(You are not playing it as pads that fast are you?)

I thought the interface was going to look like the grid of loops. More features means a s̶t̶e̶e̶p̶ longer learning curve. 😳

As an aside, the “steep learning curve” means something is quickly learned contrary to colloquial usage.

  • Mos def will buy this!
