It still floors me that one get get a piece of software like Cubasis 3 for 25 bucks. I’ve produced nearly 500 tracks and priceless satisfaction for a total investment in Cubasis of under $100.
Very true, I’m not a developer but I do know sometimes these things take a whole rewrite. Here’s Hoping.
Helium $2 off at $7.99

Talkworks $2 off at $5.99

Piano Sight Pro is $5 off at $9.99

One of the main advantages of iPad music production. Isn’t it great.
Yes they are! All IAP’s 40-50% off.
Yea, definitely. I know it’s just an update, but it’s a good free app, that hasn’t been updated in a long time so I’d thought I’d share it.
The developer also updated their other free app for first time in 3 years
M/S Processor - Free

I’m still limping along on an air 2 running 13.7. Would Cubasis 3 run ok or would I be better off with 2?
That I can’t help with maybe someone else could chime in. Or check the specs either on the App Store or on the Steinberg site. Maybe Search this forum for a cubasis 3 thread to see what peeps are saying, or the Steinberg forum might have some answers as well.
Specs say it’ll run but not “how well”. I’ll do as you suggest, thanks
Thanks

It'll work as long as you're not expecting to run too many heavyweight AUv3s at the same time. Cubasis is actually pretty efficient when using its native instruments/fx; so as long as you are happy to freeze/record AUv3s as you go along it's a really good option. Far more efficient than attempting similar workflows via AUM with e.g. Atom 2. Not a dig at either of those stellar apps (before a wall of hate befalls me) but simply a statement of fact that using modular workflows to replace a DAW is less performant than using an efficient DAW. If you're willing to not use AUv3's at all, noting beats Korg Gadget in terms of 'bounce to the ounce' of CPU cycle!
That was my point. It's all too easy to scream out for updates of IAA apps to AUv3, but this isn't always easy. Depending on how the app was originally written, a complete rewrite is sometimes the only option.
Both the Vectorscope and the M/S processor are very useful.
The Vectorscope has a Lissajous mode which can be used to do images using oscillators.
Going off on a tangent here, apologies, but which IAPs would you recommend to total Cubasis newbies who have a lot of individual auv3/iaa instruments and FX apps already - and which ones would you say they can skip? Asking for myself. 🙏
I would skip the Waves plug-ins if you already
have a swathe of auv3’s /IAA instruments
especially with the Cubasis Masterstrip.
The Cubasis drum machines would be more worth it.
I would have a look at TheSoundTestRoom on YouTube. Doug has done at least 2 videos on the drums IAP and also the FX IAP. The videos show you exactly what you get and how they sound.
For C2 about a 18-24 months ago they had a sale, and for a similar prices. i was definitely satisfied. Nothing is amazing per se, but for about $10 - $11 bucks you open up all the Steinberg effects ( FX Pack #1, FX Pack #2, about 15) 10 classic drum machines, and the micrologue arp. That’s what I did. My workflow has changed since then, and I haven’t upgraded to C3 yet but I definitely felt like it was worth the sales price. No buyers remorse. None really blew me away but I’m glad unlocked them.
I would also say it depends on a few other things as well, do you use micrologue? Are you swimming in AU FX? Do you have lots of drum apps and lots of classic drum machines samples/one shots/etc, filling Audioshare to the brim? Lol. I also split it over 2 sales. I got both fx during one sale and the other two apps during the following sale.

@Gravitas @Simon @Poppadocrock - thank you for the tips. 🤝
@ervin
The Waves IAP provides a lot of bang to the buck at 50% off and is worth it for H-Delay and Ultramaximiser alone (L1-Ultramaximiser is great as a tone shaping tool as well as a limiter, and H-Delay has a lot of character for classic dub delay fx where you’re modulating the feedback and filters). The great thing about the Waves plugins in a busy project is that they’re CPU friendly. And Waves Real Tune is a steal at £1.79 - it can be surprisingly useful as a creative tool as well as its intended purpose of taming bad vocal performances (e.g. tuning drums can be fun).
Of the Steinberg ‘drum machines’ beware that they’re nothing more than a sample pack really. The samples are great especially those from outside of the typical Roland TR fare, but they give you no real control over the samples themselves (which suprised me seeing as even the basic Cubasis samplers have AD envelopes). You can of course get more control over said samples with with an AUv3 plugin such as FAC Transient but it’s a pity that basic envelopes weren’t included with Classic Machines themselves.
As others have said the Cubasis FX packs are nothing more than workmanlike but they can come to the rescue when AUv3 fx are overloading your project as they’re super efficient and they are a step up in quality and versitility from the stock Cubasis fx.

Thank you, Jon
Geoflute IAP is on sale for $9.99 / £8.99
Yea I don’t have the waves but for $9.99, if you work in C3 a lot it might be worth it.
I enjoy the waves plugins for vocal mixing and I really like having a stable Auto-Tune plugin on iOS. The Antares one is pretty solid but not great in every DAW and the audiokit one is useless for actual corrections.
Just got the drum machines and I’m not stoked on the lack of any mixing controls but not a terrible pack for like $3.
Yea I’ve always wanted the auto tune one, will grab when I upgrade to C3. So it works well then?
@Poppadocrock
The sound is great. It’s not as deep as the desktop version and only has 4 or so scales and no custom scales(missed opportunity). I also stem/freeze the instrumental or mix it down to focus all DSP onto my vocal tracks.
You’re welcome.
So far I haven't had Cubasis and Cubasis 2. Today I bought Cubasis 3 - I know I was late to the party, but I finally got there
I would like also to buy all IAP, but I read Lars answer, that IAP transfer is possible in one direction only, from C2 to C3. Because of that here is my question:
Do you think it makes sense to buy C2 as well? I know C2 will probably not be updated anymore, but 12$ sale price is tempting for older, but stable tool. I'm asking because of a) possible problems with curent C3 version and b) having all IAP on both C2 and C3 in case of using IAP also with C2. Thanks for advice.
