  • No indication yet of force touch within the pro's screen yet, something I want for playing virtual congas properly.

  • I love the possibilities of this thing, but as a "mobile" guy, the weight concerns me.

Lugging this around sounds not so fun.

I used to be a "road warrior"... give me the biggest, most powerful thing. Now, not so much.

  • THERE WILL BE COMPOSING IN BED DOCTOR!

  • $799 for 32GB not bad.

    @johnnygoodyear agreed^^

if anyone is worried about 1.5 lb weight... then they are definitely not looking for a 13" device

  • Any specs on GFX, RAM...

  • As usual, criminally storage starved at max 128gb

  • gah, and no USB-c. I was so hoping...

  • Apple can fuck off with those prices. I would rather go get a Surface Pro once I pay that much for an iPad with pseudo-OS

It's crazy. I use a wireless hub and FileBrowser app as a workaround. It holds a mirror of 100GB of dropbox of samples songs, etc.

If you're also a gamer (not an unusual overlap) the games will kill you. there are some incredible ipad music apps that are TINY. some games are huge! well over 1GB. those will really weigh you down.

Basically, I've deleted most of the games that I don't play as much. But it's a huge pain point for me.

Yes, there was a brief mention of GFX. but I did not hear RAM.

This is Apple, it'll soon get thunderbolt, probably.

  • I wanted precision input, they brought it, I'm in.

Thankful for the 2 months to find all the change in the cushions.

  • Not happy, music wasn't really even an afterthought for them

  • good luck with charging that pencil, lol. stick it into the lightning port? smh

  • No USB, 128gigs max. I knew that, you know, the screen would probably be bigger, but after that bit of modern detective work I really wanted the port and at least 256 gigs. The old thingie: Give a little, take a little.....I feel inclined to wait until Pro 2 or later, but am resigned to seeing Sir Doug and others showing me what I'm missing with 9 etc.

    Clever bastards.

    Christmas it is.

    Sigh.

Base model at 32gb is a joke for a pro model. I'm tempted but may wait until iPad pro 2 or 3....

You guys really think Apple would ever put a USB port on an iDevice? I'd be shocked if that ever happens. Apple has shown a determination since the first iPod to keep the data ports on their handheld devices proprietary. There's not some major dip in sales or threat from competition that's come out yet to make Apple rethink that.

  • What would be nice is if they created some proprietary removable storage.

  • Could be wrong but I think they might just take a hit on this one, it looks good for some types of designers but I don't think the base is gonna wanna lug this around and pull it out all the time to use it when they could just as well use a MacBook Air and be able to do more..... Artist will love it though, musicians prob will go for the new mini and reg air 2 over this especially with the price drops this thing created...... No USB, no real file structure change, and only 1.8 times faster than the air 2 .... I'm not even tempted. Of course the dual screen is nice but we can make do on an air 2 with that

  • @CalCutta No. They won't. Until they have to. And they don't have to. Now. But I am still a dreaming man and I like it that way :)

  • Finally, iPads for over 1000 bucks..... wait..... plus 99 and 169 for that pencil and smart keyboard.

    128GB..... mmhhh..... RAM?

With such a high resolution under 4GB would be big fail!

Something inside me want it..... and the apple tv...... still waiting for the iPhones.

  • Also, I wonder for those that can forego the bigger screen, might an ipad air2 be a steal?

I have to say, the processor does make a diff for me.

  • I was looking at Cintique's last year, and this could be a good, cheap alternative. Fortunately for my wallet I've gone down the traditional artwork medium again, and it's not worth buying just for music. I'm not on the fence with this one, I'm looking at the fence from my living room, with a nice pot of tea.

    What price drops?

Air 2 seems the same price.

Looked like the mini 2 had a drop, and the mini 3 was wiped out, but that is being caused by the mini 4, not the pro.

Preserved the market value of my 128 Air 2, so I can put that towards the pro, which I bet was part of their plan.

  • Now that I have calmed down over the ridiculous price of iPad Pro, I should thank Apple for making my choice for me. I will just keep using my current iPad until it dies while saving for one of those core i5 surface pro 3 (or a pro 4). If I am paying a grand for it (minus the stylus and the keyboard), might as well go and get something that I can be productive on.

Sounds great. Can I run all the apps I sold my fence to buy on that?

Hey, investing in an entirely different app ecosystem costs mere pennies!

    Paper Tigers everywhere.

  • I'm not impressed with the iPad Pro at all. I have the Air 2 and yeah the Pro has more power and a bigger screen but who gives a shit? lol

Like everyone else, I was hoping for more storage, ram, USB etc. All I've seen from the live stream is incremental innovation. Nothing that boggles my mind. I've been following too much of the rumors I guess so I feel pretty let down :(

The only thing that I'm excited about is the new Apple TV. Looks pretty cool....and IOS9 of course!

Pro vs Surface, let the tournament begin......

So it's a fencing tournament then.
