  • Actually, the Pro with the keyboard and pencil is pretty much double the price I paid for my Air2. If I was on the fence I'd fallen off with that revelation.

The Pencil is a must-have for me. The keyboard, not so much.

Sounds great. Can I run all the apps I sold my fence to buy on that?

    I wouldn't know.

I have a ton of VSTs that I have already paid for on my Desktop, so the whole ecosystem thing does not affect me.

EDIT - Actually, now that I think about it, there are so many amazing free VSTs on Windows anyway. Even if I owned nothing, it would still be more worthwhile to just invest in a Surface Pro.

  • even during the event the crowd didn't applaud at the right times and had to be prompted repeatedly, I think there was a feeling of what the is this all fuck going on in the auditorium, their applause after being prompted seemed polite rather than passionate.

    kvr all day long

  • Ok, so I'm watching this keynote thing and about 2 mins into it I'm like: fuck consumerism...or at least try. All these guys could well be car salesmen.

KVROSC is generally a gold mine. Purchase a copy of Computer Music ($5) to access their software downloads and that is all you need to start making music.

Right? lol it makes me sick

  • No 3D touch on iPads this year.
looks like we have to wait one more year.

  • The Pro hasn't tempted me at all, though if I was in the market for a new iPad I'd go for one over an Air 2 just for the pencil support. As it is I'm happy with the Air 2, and actually prefer the Air 2 size for armchair music making.

I'll be getting the 6s iPhone though, my 3 year old 5 is showing it's age, and I take so many photos on the thing the new improved camera on the 6s will be wonderful. That's my Xmas list sorted.

  • 3D touch is a much preferable name than "force touch"

I hope we can use the Pencil with our existing iDevices...one can wish right?

  • Ipad mini 4 sounds promising...

  • Love the look of 3D touch. iPad Air 4 with 3D for me then lol

The iPad Pro and Pencil look good for me. I like the look of Live Photos on the phone too!

I'd like to say yes, but I don't think that's the case unfortunately.

  • Just seems like, oh, maybe next year, next model, next nightmare iOS version.....

Apple released an iPhone with 4k video and 16GB capacity.

they are forced to be great salesmen with these stats. The world will be amazed because they can "pop in and out" of their email all afternoon while they wait at Starbucks to back up their 16gb phone to iCloud which will be full after just 15 minutes of 4k video.

grr... not that I care about 4k video, just ... on principle, what are they doing releasing 16gb devices? /endrant

  • That was nice. I like Apple. Still waiting on a 256 GB storage option, but, y'know ... they are why we're all here talking about them :)

Digging around for free stuff for Windows is like digging around for pennies in cushions, or like using Linux for 8 years, which I sadly did.

I've been there and done that, and the app store ecosystem has brought me more free high quality updates than any other platform, so I'm more than happy to keep investing in it and the hardware to continue to make it progress even further.

But then, I have both iOS and OS X devices and I'm interested in seeing them both progress down their own lines of evolution than be completely unified, except for where they can both come together for their strengths such as using MusicIO over the lightening cable into Logic.

But that is an expensive route, especially if a person rides their devices until they die instead of constantly selling and upgrading them each year as if you are renting them, which is my approach.

I'm with supadom regarding the consumerism aspect. It's crass and disgusting as these devices suck out of the world around us all the creative innovations which used to exist in physical forms around us, and sends it into a "cloud" which will surely vanish from the halls of human history to be looked back upon as if we never had any culture whatsoever and were uncreative simpletons with no dreams or ambitions. But on the other hand in regards to the pressures of our current reality, we are either part of the steamroller or part of the pavement.

Any time on this forum would surely be a equally significant amount of creative time lost all the same, so can we look down on it so harshly?

Or is it not the simple reality that this all exists because we are components of its creation, and any time we spend on the internet at all proves our guilt?

    Just saying.

Maybe I've had too much bread.

  • That band was so incredible boring. And of course they didn't know that they were going to play until 10 minutes beforehand. What a load of BS.

  • @AQ808 - I hear what you're saying.

But then drinking beer and playing Crossy Road on your Apple TV looked AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • @AQ808 my time on AB forum is pretty much the new TV time....another time eater.

Agree with a lot of what you said, but I'm not going to worry about leaving anything to future generations as they will probably live on the cloud by then lol

  • I liked that they had Microsoft demo software!

  • Waiting for Apple to innovate is eating my days, oh well, sooner or later an iHarp awaits..

  • Does the pencil do palm rejection? If not it's going to be horrible to use.

It eats time in the making of stuff, but talking about music, tech, helping others and giving/getting feedback on your own tunes is a positive use of time, and expands your head with creative knowledge and potential. And you can talk about badgers and other stuff too.

  • It seems it will be a while until someone knows about the MOST important thing. RAM, RAM and RAM!!! 1.8 X CPU.... nice, faster flash.....nice...... but no way a device is "pro" and there is even no info about RAM.

I'm a lot more interested in a new skylake MacBook pro. I payed not that much more for my 15" retina Macbook pro compared to the iPad pro with pencil and keyboard and it already has more RAM, space, and lots of connections and and and.

And 32GB as entree is a real joke. If it now has 2GB RAM.... like i said. It's the new iPad 3 then. I would def. wait for the second generation of iPad pro. Still iOS 9 is not enough for such a device. I'm also even more tempted to a Surface pro 4 with a real OS. I mean we still get no "full" freaking browser on an iPad Pro?

  • Am i missing something? Have you saw Wacom bamboo Stylus Fineline? For less that 69 eur?
Palm detection is per app, not a system thing.

  • Can't stand the car salesmen, but largely because I recognize their siren song as pulling at my offal, but while listening to it (well, following it here) I was warbling into one iPad (pleasure) and making typography bits for a video (work) on the other. Actually doing stuff. Largely helped or force-multiplied by the salesmen's gizmos.

As for badgers and the forum, to date I have got a whole lot more than I've given. By some distance.
