Have to agree this is the one that irk's me most, having only 16GB my space is at a premium.

  • Agreed on the icloud back up pop up message being annoying.

  • @monzo, you are right :-/ sorry to be blunt.

For me, I know I have habits that I'm oblivious to and it just takes someone else pointing it out before I am aware of it.

And the whole touch screen UI is a funny thing, not really natural to human nature... to me it points out the genius of the design of iOS. Nobody trained us all how to use iOS touch controls. There are minimal cues and the rest is just poking around till you learn stuff. The fact that more people don't have these sorts of frustrating touch UI experiences is pretty remarkable.

I honestly think the screen protector can be a major factor. I had an old android phone and hated it until I took off the thick ugly screen protector and it worked heaps better.

No don't be sorry, my reply was meant to be humerous - not harsh at all, I just thought it was an amusing comment :)

  • Schumann tied bricks to his fingers to increase his span, it didn't work, caused him no end of pain, but I heard he had an excellent iPad swipe action.

  • My fingers are actually curved at the end (banana fingers innit) - causes me no end of problems typing on a phone as I keep hitting the wrong keys. That, and being drunk most of the time.

I wish, I'd probably make more sense.

  • Is there a screen protector on the iPad? I’ve had it since 2011 and not realised, nor realised how to take it off.

    Pushing which circle where?

That’s a point - it’s a circle to switch off, but a bent angle line to switch back on, but on my phone it’s a circle to answer, and it mostly misses the call.

As for cubasis... crashing after hitting undo more than six times while midi note editing.

    @myoss said:
two things that just pissed me off in cubasis:
    1) buggy freeze feature - I've already messed up one of my projects - after deleting source audio track all of my clips from other tracks got moved one track upper. Weird.
    2) no timestamp project saving. Autosaving is good, but not in single project file. Now I have to make a snapshot before doing something "serious".

  • Going back to PC and completely forgetting to save my work because most apps save on the fly. More of an irk with myself. 8)

  • It's not the kind of synthesis..I envision a thumb jam but with a full synth engine, tailored for max convenience and expressiveness :)

Something better than morphwiz and universal unlike tc 11

Really? Seems like the synth landscape is overflowing with options! What kind of synthesis are you hoping for?

Yeah I'd go with that, Thumbjam is one of my favourite apps. Add a few touch screen sliders and x/y controllers on the top and the usual TJ keyboard underneath and you'd have an immensely playable thing.

  • Rather than a version of TJ with synth engine slapped on I'd love to see some kind of arp action in there too, or at least a a note repeat function. Any old subtractive would do @sonosaurus ;)

  • Most annoying for me is the different file share methods of each app. When comes the time that you can just copy all files in one main folder and just open it in every app you like without using a pc or third party apps.

That'd be good too - the arp in Samplr works well for me.

  • This kind of response from Retronyms regarding iMPC for iPhone....(baffling)...

    Hi,

Can you advise if its possible to play my sequence from say track 1 whilst recording in from another app via the iaa function?

    Thanks,
    Dave.

    Hey David,

Im not sure if thats possible, but if you do find a way to do this, please let us know as I would like to know if its possible myself.

    Thanks,
    Eric

  • @DaveMagoo: I hope Eric is not from their QA-team :))

Midi set up on iOS, no recall, endless to set up ...
    no audio midi setup assistant
no midi via cable to Mac, it's audio only not audio and midi @ the same time, no audio through iPad (Mac app gets fxed by iPad)
no auto midi clock sync (hey something is sending clock somewhere and don't ask me stuff, just take the god dammed midi clock, no I don't want to set that up either, Jesus, according to midi specs there is only one clock anyway, so just f***ing take it, this can't be that hard ...

SynthX is an oldie that sort of followed the Thumbjam model. Love it still.

Really? Might need to try it.

WayOutWare's classic but it never got Audiobus, I believe it was taken over, but not 100% sure, think Doug did a demo of it quite a while ago.

  • Thanks.

One small thing that I guess is irksome is certain apps not splitting their AB output into different tracks.

Thumbjam does it wonderfully of course. Why can't Figure send an AB track for bass, drums and lead separately.

Michael responded to my thread on multiple outs on this subject. Not sure how to link it here, but basically his gist was that multi outs are difficult to do. Shame I think most apps should have them.
