Some sites somehow detect that your browser is blocking their ads and show you a polite message describing how important ads are and asking not to use any ad blockers. I usually disable Adblock on sites that I really like and visit regularly - want to support people who invest their time and money in creating and publishing useful and interesting content. I'm not talking here about big corporations like google and facebook that collect your data and sell it to third-parties or people who go crazy and place like 30 banners (annoying, often irrelevant, and sometimes even inappropriate) on a single pages

Good man, independent, small sites need the income from ads to keep going. I only use Google ads anyway, and they don't allow more than 3 ads on a page (so you can have one in the header, one in sidebar etc.), don't allow floating or pop-up ads, or anything that obscures content.

Without this income a lot of small sites could close, leaving only the big boys with a monopoly to do and say what they want.

I'm lucky in that I build and maintain the sites myself, but I still have to cover my hosting costs.

  • As I said earlier in this thread, I really want Split View on my iPad Air 2 like this:

This screenshot is photoshoped on my iPad...

I really appreciate the 12 apps to a window instead of 9, I had not read any mention of it and so was a nice surprise.
The thing I don't like is that iOS9 appears to have grabbed over an extra gig (Ipad Air 8.4 to 9.0) I was expecting to gain a gig back due to the Apple information I had read and accounts of other users. Anyone else lose storage in this update?

I think maybe the main reason why they didn't enable that is because it would logically have to be done with a swipe down from the top of the screen which unfortunately is already in use for notifications. It would be nice, though.

But, this should be the right way to use dual/split display, as it reduce the pixelsize 50% in both ways...
As long this is'nt possible i'm not going to use this function...
    Disappointed!

By the way, why have two different way to reach notification/ajustment center?
Why can't everything that's popup from both up/down swipe be in the same area (ex two different tabs or similar)?
Then we can use swipe up to be the way to show split screen in the right way in iPad landscape mode...

Sometime Apple has to change some of the older ways we control ours iPad...

  • I'd be cool to swipe from the right to open the split screen in landscape mode and then simply long press two (or three) fingers and turn counter-clockwise to place them on top of each other.

Yeah, it should'nt be that hard to give us more options on the Split Screen functionality...
If you have ex iPad Pro and want to run two musicapps simultaneously, holding your iPad in landscape mode and run your two apps in landscape mode would be soooo coooool!

    Apple, hurry up!

  • I've updated my gf's mini retina. I'm not impressed with any of the amazing new features. Yes they've tweaked it here and there but to be honest I didn't have great complaints about iOS 8 other than safari being absolutely pain in the ass scrolling, selecting, typing and so on. Task bar 7 to 8, great improvement, 8 to 9, not too sure.

Since split screen is bound to affect performance I'm not holding my breath for it to be useful to me with music apps though.

Has Safari improved on 9? Love to know I'm on 8 and it drives me crazy.

  • The problem (not sure if it's a problem) is that we have no 4:3 ratio when using 2 apps on the screen. Or one is 4:3 and the other is something 4:2.333333....
Still waiting for scalable UI's in iOS.
But who wants not play candy crush and angry birds at the same time on the same device ;)

  • Crush Angry Candy Birds RMX, think you've created a perfect antidote with that idea.

The scalable UI in the current apps is working fine. The news reader app is a good example. They did a good job using the thumb to scroll through text.

  • Selecting in safari seems better but typing into boxes in Facebook is still a pain, jumping etc. I've just tried my usual audiobus set up and all seems to be working ok apart from the initial 'do you want to open...' Pop ups first time around.
