This is getting to be an expensive thread...
{edit} - hang on, they're only eighty quid...
Ha ha! sorry.
Although it sounds like the SQ-1 is more what you need and only about £80. But I understand the nature of gear lust for the Moog..
No don't apologise, I didn't even know about that sequencer! Only £80, I can't think of any reason not to get that one. I'm after a Moog for the filter sound really, but the sequencer was a bonus. I could do some wild things with the Moog and an MS20/SQ-1 combo...
Yeah they could sound monstrous together, having two independant sequencer lines would be a big bonus as well.
Just off for a stomp up a local hill fort with Mrs Monzo, currently rehearsing the best way to casually drop my new Xmas wish list into the conversation...
Just seen the Moog for £499
damn.. i want that too
I can only wish you luck with that.
So easy to mis-judge the right moment..
It's got the makings of a soap opera written all over it
£499!!! Me Thinketh that some other brands will be questioning their prices now. I just hope Moog have not sacrificed quality of build.
OK, so I tried to console myself. I can't afford one. I set up iMini to midiSequencer and while it sounds ok, it's just not the same. Plus no patch cables to play with. Also when I switch between the two apps, their is a glitch in timing of the sequence......off to rob a bank......
Pretty surprising but it appears the Mother-32 debuts in Hungary, as long as the European market is concerned. At least that's what I'm reading on the website of Moog's local dealer. They've won a few 'best Moog distributor' prizes, maybe this debut thingy is their reward. Anyways, the Budapest Music Expo is happening this weekend, a lot of synths, including the recent Moog line-up (Sub Phatty, Sub 37, Voyager, Mother-32, Werkstatt, etc..) will be out there, available for tweaking and whatnot. I might go and see where my gear-money's going to go next ...
And yes, it is indeed in stock over here for HUF 217k (roughly GBP 510)., .approx. a 100 US$ above Moog's list price (US$ 680). It's still probably the most affordable Moog with all the Mother's features taken into consideration.
So, if you're in Budapest, here's your chance:

So did I see something saying 'midi to cv' meaning this could be sequenced by an iPad app like Genome?
Also I have a BeatStep which does midi out, so presumably that could work.
...Not that I can really justify a purchase. But it's nice to dream.

Funny you should say that, she mentioned we need a new washing machine, so I thought that might be a good trade but it didn't wash.
Looks pretty chunky, with wooden side pelmets. I can't really justify getting one, and if I don't it's probably not worth getting the Korg sequencer either. But I'm going to spend the next few weeks vigorously thinking about it.
Yep. The "to CV" part would just be for sending midi thru it onto another CV device.
Oh, it's more tempting than you think. The beatstep also has CV out so you could run a beatstep sequence and point it at any of the Moog's patch panel inputs to affect the sound while the Moog sequencer plays the notes. Sync the two sequencers or don't.
Looking fwd to put my hand on it!
@Ollimac73 Please be sure to update us with your findings!
You're gonna have a great time, that's granted! Looks like I won't be able to make it to the expo but I'll jump into the Hitspace store and try the Mother-32 next week. They even have a "buy it and bring it back if you're not happy" option, I might go for that.

Im from Rajka, but will not be able to go to Budapest this weekend, damn.
If I can ever afford one again, a Mother would be the invention I need. Too many apps now I can't focus.
Damn I keep watching the video. Can't believe you could get the 3 unit setup for the amount I spent on my Andromeda a few years back!
want
U need to have at least 2 of these to have fun.
1osc, 1filter,1vca gets boring pretty quick.
patching on this should be fun, usually the wires hang everywhere so you can't reach the knobs anymore, on this the spaghetti won't be in the way.
but this could be great to drive the roland system 500 - thats more my alley soundwise

Who wants a moog 55 when there's a system 700? Lol
I think a Mother 32 along with something like a Meeblip Anode to work as a sub OSC will be a pretty winning ticket. Doesn't require investing in a eurorack case+power supply and you can bring the Anode (or whatever) into the Mother 32 as audio to pass through the filter. Hopefully the envelope too.
I'm getting this. Gonna use it with the CV/GATE out from SH-101 and I will rule the bottom of fucking world I tell you.
the kit looks a lot more fun.

Looks great! It would be fun to build one. Are there any kits, etc that would let you add a MIDI in?
How about this one? I bet he'll never get bored
I'm just getting into Eurorack, and I have to say in the context of other module costs this seems like a pretty keen price. If you try and specify a small modular system with similar functionality (synth voice + sequencer + midi/envelope follower) it's not easy to match value. And that's not accounting for power and case.
