Thanks Doug - Stria looks tempting, one of the few apeSoft apps I haven't got.
Stria, iPulsaret or iDensity? Just watching some YT videos... Any recommendations, what is the most useful or unique?
I've got iPulsaret and iDensity - the most used of those by a mile is iDensity which allows you to mangle four samples at once. Stria looks a bit like iPulsaret from the Youtube demos I've seen, but for three quid I'm tempted to get it just to complete the set.
are apeFilter & apeDelay recommendable?
I recommend all, but take care with these on your ears, equipment etc, excellent for sound design. Get a brickwall, but still turn down the gain!
+1 good advice - I damaged the hearing in my right ear when using Sparkle with earphones. Since then I've been very careful with these apps, and deleted that one. They're pretty unique though, and iDensity is a fave.
Thanks @monzo good to know. I have iVCS3, Sparkle and apeFilter. Like and use them in that order. All are unique apps and premium quality.
I personnally enjoy stria a lot, don't expect to make music with it,
it's great for spooky atmospheres (humid caves, rusted metallic structures in space, galactic winds, broken circuits...)
I hit the randomize button, tweak a bit and save what I can use
iVCS3 is one if the classiest apps you can buy, wish they'd tackle the ARP 2600!
Sounds like my sort of thing.
That's the beauty and the beast with these filters, delays, wonderful, but sometimes just slight changes to a parameter, can turn them into a beast, but hey that's our world, on the edge.
thanks for the advices, folks
iVCS3, is it good and useable with out the IAP? Not that I wouldn't grab em, but just curious. Thanks
IAPs are presets only. Good ones but no need. It's one of my favorite synths. Still exploring it
Awesome, thanks for the input!
You have the IAP with iDensity? Or is the base app with 1 granular stream fully funct. enough to get er done?
And don't forget these excellent presets for iVCS3, https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/8045/new-ivcs3-patch-set-free-download-from-digital-jeepney/p1
ApeDelay, I got lots of Delay stuff, do I need this one
I've bought Stria - this is a weird one.
Humid caves?
I went straight for the IAP - I wanted the full four sample mangling action.
I can play God Save the Queen on Stria
I'm definitely going to get iVCS3 as I've been holding out for a while after shelling out for cubasis, on sale I can justify it.
It is not an easy task to describe an abstract sound, I did my best, I have a preset named "Cave drops" because it somewhat sounds like water dripping from a stalagtite:
@pierre
HUMID CAVES!
Impressive, the best I've managed so far is a detuned squelch.
Sound !
If you explore the presets you'll find that you can actually do some pretty interesting stuff with Stria. It can be interesting sample fodder, or as a fucked up pad.
Tried but keep cocking it up on camera lol
I've had iVCS3 on my want list for ages so I just bought that - thanks Doug!
Finally picked up Apefilter and ape delay, definitely have their place in the toolbox, very cool fx. I hope the developer makes them available as AU.
