Now the oscillators are started and stopped independently. And if we liked the old behaviour, where they started together..? Now it takes 5 presses to start all the oscillators rather than one!
They're quite big steps though. I can adjust it better dragging the playhead. It would be just be kinder to my old eyes if you could turn the phone to landscape and get a larger view of the waveform and/or you could scroll and zoom in and out like in other touch based apps. Also the help file is tiring to read for the same reason.
@jocphone You are right though, a zoom function would be welcome. I just ran into this prob where it's difficult to adjust the loop marker. The fine step isn't enough.
Ha, yeah I'm in South Austin and that's not a lobster but a crawdad from the Greenbelt... I recorded that downtown but Scaped it in the '04...
According to @kobamoto the dev is super responsive. I have put a comment with a few observations/requests on his own blog. Will see if he is receptive to any of them.
Another off beat guitar loop from downtown tonight and another non musical run through of the features...
Once I get a Behringer 32 knobber the edits won't be so severe... Pretty sure I can play this as a live instrument sometime soon...
oops...
Sorry, give me a min to figure out the intricacies of the forum...
The button says Start now instead of Scape which is weird but also I wish it would just turn the Scape on or off without restarting the loop just like they were saying above about linking all three Oscs to the same start... It would be much more flexible and awesome if they were independent and the Start/Scape didn't restart the loop...
Two Cents...
It is painful trying to decide if I need Fieldscaper. I'm pretty sure I should just buy it, but honestly I'm not a huge fan of the Soundscaper interface so don't use it much.
Why is this so hard? it's not expensive )
If you're thinnkiingng logngoonggng you're thinkgin worong
amirite?
Depends what sort of music you make really - if you're into soundscapes and avant space noodling then I'd say absolutely 100% immediate buy. If not, then maybe not essential.
No. Rookie mistake. If you're thinking logngoonggng you're going to buy it anyway or it will keep eating you up inside until you do. For the record, I appreciate the work of this Dev but haven't always gotten along (dunno why) with the interfaces; I find this one far more usable/intuitive etc. Not sure yet how much ongoing use it will get, but know in my brittle bones that I don't/won't regret the purchase.
It's 6 dollars and less then two beers or two tacos and I'm not sure why you would hesitate since it's also on sale???
I bought FieldScaper of course. glad i did, it was inevitable after all.
The issue isn't with the single app purchase for $6 it is the sum of all the app purchases that creates the hesitation.
So what, I don't get my beer and tacos today. I will be happier in the long run.
Let the healing begin.
not to take attention away from my newly purchased fieldscaper, but gliderverb can do some nice things with 1(not 3) recorded sample.
Fieldscaper working great on my iPhone 4s is making this a great universal purchase. For some reason was thinking iPad first with this but will likely get more use on the phone. Cool stuff.
Holy Sound overload Batman! This is freaking AWESOME!
Some better saving capabilities would be nice but damn I can just point it at Audioshare and collect cool loops for future uses.
State saving definitely needed. Especially if you're on the run and working quickly, it would be nice to lock in a setup to further develop later.
Otherwise, brilliant!
I like the new oscillator controls in the update..
I've also got an email reply from Igor about feature requests, good news for Fieldscapists ahead:
Plans to make single button (or other way) to start all three oscillators at once + midi control
Plans to add scenes and internal recorder for processed
output (as it made in SoundScaper) in a future update.
"Changing scenes and presets with smooth
morphing" is an upcoming feature.
"Sync osc and triggers with MIDI clock" in future plans
sounds perfect, love this app
Now you're talking! This is a great app and going to get better! Thanks for the info
yessssssssssssssssssss
I'd really like to know that too...
It looks like he's playing a synth of some sort and fecording that into FS? Or maybe the keyboard is assigned to some midi functions?
Is it possible to record directly into FS from another app?
This app has awesome MIDI implementation for a midi controller:))....universal and per Oscilator....
Yeah you can record directly into it in AB, also works with open in... with Audioshare.
great! planned update sounds awesome! thanks carnbot.
Did another FieldScaper thing tonight... Not using a controller yet but I Love this app sooo much, just getting to know the address and delay settings...
Here's my FieldScaper soundscape attempt. There's an Animoog sample in two of the oscillators and one iElectribe if I remember right.
