Thank you, my master!
Hush, apprentice! Get back to your cell...
(Your welcome though...)
Master @ChrisG,
I would like to make a sound that sounding like the second part of this video, I wanna choose a PSP reverb; however, I have no clue on what to choose between Verb2 or PianoVerb2. PianoVerb2 has Freeze function and also has 24 springs resonance emulation. So which one? I have Pro-MB, AD480, Mobile Convolution, M/S processor, Timeless2, ZeroReverb. I am not satisfied on their capability on long lengthy sound! please, have some comment how to do for that?
I'm not sure what sound you mean. That long feedback-ish sound at the end of the video? I do have PSPs piano verb in Auria, but haven't used it yet.
Mobile Convolution can load IRs that are up to 90 seconds long, which should be enough for anything. Obviously need an IR with a sound you like (from there on apply EQ:ing to taste).
Or do you mean just a smooth reverb on an entire mix, without making it muddy? Usually you don't do that on your typical rock/pop thing, except perhaps sometimes add a slight amount of reverb that'll glue the mix together. On more ambient or orchestral stuff it's a different story though I guess.
Sorry, can't be more specific (all I heard in the video was a dude talking lol)
@ChrisG, great, will try. I forgot that 90 seconds IR thing. I just felt putting m/s processor after reverb, killing much vibration of sound. So I basically would like to try PianoVerb2, it sounds more natural. I do not feel metallic plate interesting me at all, that is for drummer I guess.
I found the saw strings brassy sounds fantastic in the background of that video. Calm and comfortable!
Yea I find myself struggling a lot sometimes with getting a reverb that doesn't too static throughout the reverb tail/duration (and that sits well with the sound as well obviously).
I don't have any headphones with me, so can't listen to video properly. There are a lot of of people here though with waaay more knowledge then me that hopefully might chip in with some advice.
@ChrisG,
I just bought PianoVerb2. It is awesome that 'Freeze' function not actually freeze to static, it allows modulation coming through, it is fantastic for ambient sound designer. This is exactly what I was looking for. It is subtle enough without putting whole space on vastly emptiness which is what normal reverb made for own... own... sound! Not a single reverb app can act like PianoVerb2.
Sorry, off topic a bit on Telepathy!
@ChrisG,
I found a way to do similar background sound to the second part of that video. By using PianoVerb2 with Auria's convolution reverb together! First, you need to use freeze button to modulate ModDepth and Mod Freq knobs. Then adjust dry and wet knobs. By reducing dry knobs I actually transform the sound to more background ambient form. Convolution Reverb just make sound more spatial! Yes, dynamic EQ can smooth out abrupt plateau! So this is not difficult if using the right tools!
Photo here,
Awesome! Yep I do have PianoVerb2 in Auria as well, but haven't used it yet. Definitely gonna mess around with that when I get the time though
@ChrisG @Kaikoo
Hey friends here's a link to some very interesting IRs, rich and strange, recorded in an abandoned NSA listening station in Berlin...http://www.balancemastering.com/blog/free-teufelsberg-nsa-listening-tower-impulse-responses-ir-irs-convolution/
@Littlewoodg
Awesome, thanks. Will load these into Mobile Convolution as soon as I get the chance, definitely looks interesting
@Littlewoodg,
Very strong tastes! Mobile Convolution Reverb can easily ready for these files. Thank you so much.
I like PSP products, PianoVerb2 puts strings, piano, guitar, or any synths sounds euphorically. Nothing is annoying when tweaking PV2 knobs.
Least I could do- considering how much of your sound design I've put to use
PianoVerb is a big favorite of mine also.
This stuff should load in AuriaP too (am using inside MTS as well)
Thanks!
Yea these IRs are definitely keepers. I have so many IRs captured from various reverb units, so any real world IR like this = gold.
I like the MoreVox IRs in Auria for the same reason, there are so many experimental different and weird IRs in there.
The update for Telepathy has arrived and it's on the bus again.
Been watching this space- thanks @Paul !
C'mon. I expect a tune out of this.
Just bought this but frustrating as preset downloading system appears broken....downloading banks as per the instructions don't work. Nothing appears in All or not in bank. And only one of the factory banks listed in the help page can be seen on the list...not a good start. Only one preset.
Any other new users get the same problem?
@Carnbot
You probably saw the refresh button and tried that...the procedure is odd: (and again you probably tried this, sorry if you know this already). With "public" and "all", selected hit "refresh" then select "download bank" then select "user" and "all" and they should be there. There is stuff from Funjunkie, ChrisG, Paul L...
Thanks, yeah been trying the same procedure. Nothing appears in the user/ all bank at all. I think it may be a bug in the new update?
Tried a reinstall, but the same....emailed the developer.
Sorry man. I bought it before update then installed update..."shouldn't" matter but under the hood stuff weirds me out...only main settings stuff I found is "use cellular", but you're probably on wifi
This developer should really needs some assistance to bring the a better product design. Concept good but not users friendly GUI. I simply lost a bit interest after few times playing simply because it is so hard to design, especially when tweak lots esoteric sounds to get get to the right point in such a complex formats. Too small the assignment and configuration thingies. A middle window actually can be set to 'pop up other bigger windows' for friendly touch, don't be so tiny!
Dev dude said he's going into another beta shortly...
Yes maybe more time spent on the desktop version and not enough on iOS. Is there a way of sharing presets via iTunes? Also I can't find any midi settings...
@Carnbot
MIDI is channel 1, no settings, just puts it out there...
Weird that the account stuff is a fail now...I've got 2 accounts which both seem to load, Im going to PM you one (if only 'cause you might put up some new presets for me to try...)
Thanks I'll give it a try
Let me know if it flies
Same thing unfortunately. No luck downloading banks.....thanks for the attempt anyway. Would be good to confirm if anyone else who bought after the update is experiencing the same.
Dang it!
