as cool as I think it is?
I've not yet taken the plunge and pruchased Auria Pro but the first point on the list makes me drool a bit.
Currently I store all my sounds in AudioShare so it would be totally awesome to be able to automagically create a "Lyra Instrument" by sending a file to Auria Pro using "Open In..." and getting an option to create a Lyra Instrument or save the file somewhere inside Auria Pro filestructure for later use or preferably both.
Other options would be to have a 'create lyra instrument' in some of the menus and use iCloud Drive option to import the file(s) to be used in the instrument.
I've also been oogling the Auria Pro manual but can't seem to find a way to have the included delay sync to tempo, so in order to do tempo synced delays a purchase of FabFilter Timeless is needed or?
Who knows, maybe 'Santa' is nice to me this year and I'll get Auria Pro for christmas
Rimtastic! Thank you!
Rim has kidnapped and drugged Santa's best coding elves, injecting them with RedBull, and flogging them until their balls jingle!
@WaveMachineLabs Great news! Thanks a lot for all of your great work! Is Ableton Link support coming to Auria as well?
@Samu - I think Turnado could give you a tempo synced delay in Auria if you had that.
Thanks, Rim!
Good idea! I was just thinking to myself why there is no sampler or sample editor!
Thanks everyone. Actually, that feature is just a very simple way to play samples in Lyra. It doesn't allow assigning zones, groups or loop points. Just a very basic way to play a single wav file across the keyboard. At some point, I'll start working on a standalone version of Lyra which will have a lot of sample management features, to truly create samples from the ground up. But the Lyra version inside Auria is just meant to be a player, so I thought this was an easy way to at least allow some import capability...

Damn dude! If I had to sum up my last week or two of work it would not look like that. Thanks!
Amazing. Great work. Thanks.
So looking forward to a stand alone sampler!
I know I live a quiet and retiring life, but that's the image of the day by some distance
By the way, Rim is not human. He doesn't sleep........... He's really a very nice fella & a hard working Robot......... Probably, the Earths original Commander Data from Star Treks "the Next Generation"......
Don't know how you do it, Rim. We'd have a team of guys on this, and a QA group just as big. Freaking incredible.
There's something to be said or being the one guy, you know your code and where everything is, but good lord.
One day apple is knocking at his door just like they did with the Alchemy guys... I certainly would if I was mr. Cook!
“Export To Lyra as Sample” is going to make a lot if people happy, even with its restrictions - great update. I am looking firward ti getting AP for Christmas (well, an iTunes guft card that will durectly convert to AP!)
I mentioned on this forum that I wish there was an option to transfer recorded audio on Auria onto Lyra sample player and it looks like Rim has granted my wish. Cheers.
Can anyone help me with a realistic and useful use case for this 'copy to Lyra' function then?
I'd have preferred to be able to sample 14 different sounds to the 14 Lyra pads to be honest. (Like in MTS).
I guess I could sample another iOS synth and then run it along the Lyra keyboard. But it would probably be much better to control that synth live via Midi / IAA.
I can't at the moment think of any other actual use cases. I guess you could put a vocal hit in which you could then pitch up or down.
Like you say add a hit (any hit) and pitch it up and down. I'll record and process things then use this to layer or create a 'melody' out of any old random bibble. The musical opportunities are endless
Thanks. I might try that sometime. What sort of sounds work well for this type of thing? Synth notes, voices, drum sounds?
Quite a bit but depends on what you're looking for - a few examples (admittedly for slightly more wigged out electronica type stuff)
Layering drum hits (kicks, snares, hats) at different slightly pitches at various points in a pattern to get some variation.
Processing bass / lead / incidental hits and then being able to play them like a synth
Pitching loops (I would have a version of the main drums, gated to f#*ck and band passed) that may play half speed.
Basically could be anything... Worth trying it out and some could sound awful, others inspired
Presuming you're using a sound that will work well when triggered from Lyra (a sound where the source synth doesn't have tons of modulation) this will greatly reduce resources vs running an IAA synth.
That's cool.
I deleted it and was waiting for things to get a little better.
