Hmm... I think I've got this figured out. In iTunes, there is a Station to Station (Deluxe Edition), and the second CD in that has a live "Stay" as its 5th track, "Stay (Live Nassau Coliseum '76)" which is 7:24 long. The studio track is 6:15 long.
Somehow you are getting that one routed to you even though The deluxe edition isn't available in Apple music.
Maybe you had the deluxe edition purchased and Apple Music is somehow messing it up for you?
.
What would I be apologizing for? Us both being right?
Grow a skin someday crybaby.
Yeah, it is kind of hard to believe that Apple would be sending two people a different file for the same track, so reverse engineering what the typical moron would be thinking is "crowd noise" does take some effort.
Thing is, I don't know you, so why would I believe you know anything well, even the "back of your hand".
And sadly, you were too dim to realize it was likely iTunes that bit your Apple Music account.
You might just have "clowned" yourself on that one.
What does that feel like?
All I said was that, for some reason, "Stay" is live on S2S on my Apple Music stream. I never asserted that you were wrong, or stupid for not hearing what I heard. That's your game. So you only learned later that there is, indeed, a version of the album that DOES replace the studio version w/ the live.
Quit while you're behind, player.
Well now, needless to say, the version of "Stay" on Apple Music is the studio version, so the problem which needed investigation was your claim.
I don't think you need to take that personally unless you really want to.
I was just analytically getting to the bottom of it, and now we have.
I think that's good.
I mean, if you actually knew what was going on, you should have said "the crappy thing is that Apple Music is replacing "Stay" on Station to Station with a live track from the deluxe album I purchased in the past. This sucks."
But you didn't.
So, you were wrong.
Embrace it.
I've got zero ill feelings on this. Mixups happen. And to be honest, I think we're both assholes.
Thing is, I don't have any purchased or uploaded version uploaded with Apple. But that's really beside the point. It's your approach. It's shit.
Get real. I'd rather start from the simplest thing and move up to the most difficult than the other way around.
It would be nice to know why Apple would be routing you that track instead of the actual one, assuming you truly don't have any other thing conflicting with it.
Maybe like I suggested it is a regional situation where one of their CDN's are serving the wrong file to everyone in its region.
I definitely think it is worthy contacting Apple over, and be sure to say your further support of Apple Music depends on it.
That sounds like a colossal waste of time; precious time. But I'm not surprised that you'd think otherwise!!
✌️
Yeah, I get it, you're from New York.
Permanent chip on your shoulder.
I'll say what I'm guessing just about everyone says to you, just to stem the flow of diarrhea....
You're right.
Right back at ya.
RIP mister Jones. You will be missed.
I've been crying since Monday. Nothing else to say. He was my all-time hero.
I thought somehow Bowie would life forever.
Last year one evening over beers I was discussing with a friend what the impact would be when certain people inevitably die. I predicted that when David Bowie dies it’d knock several generations sideways, a bit like how each of us in the UK was personally affected when John Peel died. Yet not quite the collective magnitude of when Lady Diana died. However, I thought it’d be up there with those. There’s quite a few culturally defining foundation joists in one’s upbringing, which, when removed, you’d notice.
For me, I’d feel very much the same when Elton John goes. I think many people will also feel the same when Alice Cooper goes. Also, if Kate Bush goes within my lifetime. Of course, one hopes they don’t.
I've had "Moonage Daydream" going through my head all day ... partly because of my reintroduction to the tune in GOTG, but mostly because that solo at the end has a certain "time to leave this planet behind" sound that seems appropriately epic and fitting for the Other Davie Jones's departure from this rock.
@u0421793 And, perish the thought, should those three all go on the same day, well ... There's a party in the old Waiting Room I would love to see!
The na na na na is haunting me all day
In Canada today we have much music playing Bowie on Much for 3 hours and Five Years for an hour. Repeated throughout the night till 6 am.
I've had Low and Ziggy Stardust playing in my car all week. Aladdin Sane creeped in at the end.
In case any of you were unfortunate enough(as I was) to witness the lady gaga performance from the grammys, here is something to help you forget that forever. If you were lucky enough to not have seen that grammy disaster, then....don't watch that, watch this,
Better.
Oh, also...I finally got hold of the Blackstar record and just want to report it looks beautiful with a very nice booklet inside. Haven't listened to it yet because I haven't been able to set aside the required quiet sit down time for it.
Recommended purchase.
