I don't see any way to reverse a loop or duplicate a loop within the app. Are those possible or a possibility?
This app is very well done BTW. Very intuitive. NO other looper app has clicked with me like this one. Thanks
Thanks @anickt, a copy/duplicate loop function is coming soon. Possibly in the next update, I've posted about it over on the Group the Loop forum: forum.grouptheloop.com/index.php?topic=9.0.
I'll add reverse loop to the future features list.
Thanks! I'll check out the forum
This is good news. A 'duplicate' would be a real boon.
After not only seeing all the great feedback here, but also the involvement of the developer, I will be purchasing this app ...and soon.
Loving this app. So easy to use. Even with zero inspiration and just making silly noises to mess around with I could get loops to synchronise and create useable stuff. Like the built-in drummer as well. Kudos to @jmarshallgtl for making it so intuitive and easy to use!
... It just happened here (;
Kaikoo the master looper might have a ton of great ideas.
I miss the crazy Captain @Kaikoo
Another idea I had which you can put at the bottom if the list. A mixer page. It would be so awesome to have a mixer page with a button to select it of course off of the main looping page or via the settings. This mixer page would be so cool cause there we could have the looped separated by tracks and be able to group them too or ungroup them. Mute, solo, pan you know the works. Add effects, remove effects. All in one mixer page. This would be cool cause once you got your whole song made, you can get really creative in the mixer page. Especially if you're recording in real-time via audioBus you can mute or solo tracks while the song is playing and this would give your song a more realistic feel now the ultimate would be to be able to automate record all these changes in the mixer page so we can just sit back and enjoy while GTL plays back all your changes made during the song.
Someday?
That's Ableton Live, isn't it?
I still bought GTL just now and will likely buy the upgrade/new Loopy also. Being on this forum is dangerous. I've bought more stuff because of eager developer participation and excitement generated by this group than any other.
And I'd agree with others that this little looper is great and may replace my usage of Loopy, we'll see. I haven't watched all the Masterpiece videos to know how much overlap that there is between with what we have here with GTL and what Michael has been planning. I'll probably still buy Loopy Mastermind, even if just to support Michael and all the great things he has provided us with here on this forum in the past and in the future.
Has anyone tried this as an IAA loop player in Modstep? I am also curious if group the loop time-stretches imported loops well.
With the upcoming fix for MIDI (beta is working now) I give both thumbs up too!
i think i might do the same - I hadn't planned on doing > @AudioGus said:
I believe the developer said time-stretching will be coming some day... Does this work as an IAA?
Anyone also experiencing an issue with the metronome and the drummer feature? Mine is going to 320 bpm when choosing The Blues and pressing the - key just makes the beat go to crazy high values. Then I press a new style and it goes even crazier. PM posted to Jack on the GTL forums.
edit: thanks Jack for the PM reply on the forums. Looks like I did find a bug and it is going to be fixed in the next update. In the meantime, beware of the Blues drummer in 12/8 time! He's a nasty one...
Bought the app, its great!!, but then I tried to sync it and... no link or MIDI sync??? I´ve read it had MIDI so for a looper app I was convinced MIDI clock would be included...so.. as is now its useless for me...:(
Is some kind of sync comming soon?
LINK is coming soon!
excellent, and no better time than the present!
Bought the app. Very nice. But watching Jack vid, it doesn't do the same. Maybe a proper in depth instruction on how to vid? But, it's only just come out, & there's always little probs. Not a major thing. The only thing I found(maybe a bug?) is that when I've made one track(say 8 bar?) , I record a second one, & it doesn't do 8 bar, only 4 bar. When I come out of the app, then restart, it works 8 bar( the same as the master track). The app is in its infancy, so I would think Jack(the dev) will sort it. Not complaining. Most app have hiccups when its first released. This app has so much going for it. Patience is a virtue as they say.
I wait for the Link with baited breath. But one thing at a time. Keep up the good work young man.
I would desperately need LINK though, especially now that i wanted to run it with Auria Pro.
Thanks for spotting this, I'll have it fixed in the next update
Hi @fprintf, thanks for spotting this, it will be fixed in the next update. As you mentioned the bug only occurs with the blues drum beat when metronome and drummer are both enabled. For now, turn the drummer on first and start the session playing. then turn on the metronome and you shouldn't get this problem anymore.
Cheers!
How does this work with other apps ? Is there an audiobus panel for starting and stopping loops while playing say Nave? In other words, say I am going to play Nave into Group, ?
Yep there's basic record, play and pause trigger buttons which can be used to control Group the Loop from other Audiobus compatible apps. The record button will record to the next available loop.
Smart man................
It depends on what group you are previously working in. Or you can direct cue the group yourself.
Which you can determine what each group consists of, including the size of each loop, and the ability to overdub in each.
Not sure if that is what you meant.
Make sure to go to the Group The Loop forum and vote for features you'd like to see. Dev is open to our input.
