Thanks, great one!
Hi @SecretBaseDesign - first of all, thanks for the thanks in the Sidecar notes - i'm very flattered and grateful. Fame at last
.
Secondly, a quick request for the future...
Because i'm thinking of using Sidecar to trigger midi clips in Modstep - it would be very useful to be able to configure sidecar's pads to be "toggle" on/off buttons - or even just have a 'hold' - that might do it.
I'd have thought it might be useful for other people's uses too.
I wonder if that's an option you might introduce at some point?
Thanks,
Matt
@Matt_Fletcher_2000 -- no problem, I should be able to add toggling for the next release. I've got a bit on my plate right now, but this should probably happen in the next month or two.
day/month/year or year/month/day and the decimal system rules!
americans are so weird
meet me on 3/12/2016 six miles behind the end of town ... huh? when? how many?
thx for the app
Brilliant. Thanks.
Sidecar and Sidecar Mini should be updating to 1.3 now. In this version, I've fixed up the iON iCade support a bit. The joystick now switches banks of pads (using up and down). Left on the joystick is pad 1, right is pad 6. The eight buttons of the iCad are pads 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7, 8, 9, 0.
I've also tweaked the UI a bit, so that it sizes the pad region appropriately in slide-over, and the bank that you're on is highlighted as well....
Thanks for this! Really appreciate you taking care of these issues...
Thanks so much for addressing this!
Will there ever be possibility to affect function to the whole bluetooth keyboard, I mean all keys. I'd like also if numbers where banks and letters functions.
So be able to assign any key to any sort of function? I think this is do-able -- just not sure how many people would really need or want that sort of functionality.
I'll be putting Sidecar and Sidecar Mini on sale this weekend, and NTBYF will go free for a bit as well....
Sidecar and Sidecar Mini 1.4 are available now. In this update, I've added in the ability to toggle pads on and off, and there's visual feedback on CC pads (so you can see slider positions).
More goodies planned for 1.5, which should probably be out in early September. My plan is to add a scale-based MIDI keyboard, a guitar-fretboard-style keyboard, and maybe a simple one-loop-MIDI-looper (think of that as Infinite Looper really-really-really-light). I might add some midi-learn functionality too. Give me a shout if you see anything that needs fixes, or have stuff that you'd like me to put on the development schedule.
Thanks for the new visual progress on the touch value--helps a lot!
@SecretBaseDesign Is the improved midi editor on the horizon? This is the only thing keeping me away.
MIDI editor in Infinite Looper? Yes, finishing work on that now. The update should drop mid-August.
This is the day's happy news.
@SecretBaseDesign Here's a feature that would be helpful to me: the ability to alternate MIDI CC values. So, for instance, press one delivers CC value of 127, press two delivers CC value of 1. That way, I can toggle with apps that require values on either side of 64, like AUM.
I tried using the toggle for Note but it requires two taps on my Bluetooth pedal to toggle values in AUM.
Doh! -- yeah, very good idea. The FCB1010 has this, and it's handy. I'll put it in.
Yikes -- realized I screwed something up with the final release that keeps the iCade from toggling correctly. Will fix that, and get the update out shortly.
@SecretBaseDesign actually, the iCade works as expected with the new release. It's my Airturn Quad that doesn't work well.
A heads-up -- version 1.5 of Sidecar and Sidecar Mini should be rolling out. I've added a vertical format configurable keyboard -- toggle over to it, and you can play MIDI notes to whatever destination is set for the pads. It's a small hack, but I think it'll be handy for the folks who use Sidecar for other stuff.
The keyboard code is the same stuff that you'll see in Infinite Looper -- just arranged up and down, rather than across. Give me a shout if you've got questions!
Thanks @SecretBaseDesign, that's really cool, especially for Auria Pro which has no keyboard. And when in AudioBus.
A small suggestion would be to add the octave number after the note name. Even though the scroller gives some idea where you're at, the octave number is pretty handy. Optional MIDI note number would be nice too.
I sure appreciate all the little thoughtful features you're incrementally adding to your apps.
Cheers!
