This thread is like a crack den. You guys are fiends
Poor developers add one thing then are hit with 10 more requests.
New Blocs Wave sound set: Crack Pipe Hits and Sizzles
Sections sounds very promising. Looking forward to seeing the implementation.
Don't be alarmed- I am merely enthusiastically contributing to this well recognised marketing/ publicity strategy in order to help create something of a buzz about this latest release- although I only realised this in retrospect after giving it some thought. So everything is quite in order and is progressing according to plan .... I would imagine.
ps... no need to thank me Novation
Now... where did I put that box of fishy biscuits?
You're right there, perhaps they should charge for 'bespoke versions', say £5 per requested feature ?
I was looking at the iTunes chart the other day and I saw that Blocs Wave was 147th on the list. It's pretty easy to see why. As soon as it came out all these people went on and gave it a one star review because it didn't have certain features--many of which it has today. And many of which it will have tomorrow. But people see all those one star reviews.
I rarely write reviews, so I wrote one.
Unless I'm missing something , I can't even find it on the top 150 list at all right now. We need to support it.
I imagine at some point, Novation will have to put out a free LE version of Blocs Wave.
In the meantime I am buying lots of IAP to show my appreciation for all that they have put into the app.
Added 5 star review and suggested anyone interested in music apps need to check out this forum rather than rely on App Store ratings.
I will very gladly give 10 stars and stand on a street corner and shout praises to Blocs Waves...
But I can't...look at how nicely their banks are arranged...drums, bass, melody, etc and all separate...
Now look at my mess in bringing in about 20-30 samples ....it's a horror ..they are all mixed up, can't be dragged around or arranged, how can I make any sense out of the mess?
It is simply impossible...And @Launchpadforios doesn't seem to care...?
I need a comprehensive system like Blocs has for their own packs, "Project" with a name and put my samples in, otherwise it's impossible to make it work with my own samples... I don't think it's asking something impossible I mean make it an IAP, I don't care I will gladly pay but at the moment it's lacking...
This! Always this!
+1
Yeah. Maybe the larger market doesn't care about this (or maybe it's not in any developer's long term strategy to encourage import vs packbuy), but I would glad pay for a sort-them-out IAP and no doubt those who have no intention of bringing in many/any of their own sounds will not be distracted in their pack purchasing mayhem (make no mistake, I have all the packs as well, what's a boy to do after all, but still.....)
....maybe it's their strategy, but @Launchpadforios should say something...please?
Say something, anything...
You people that import your own samples, it doesn't drive you crazy?
If there are enough people needing this, and SAY SOMETHING, Novation could/might consider it and make it available.
Not a complicated feature, it's already there but not fo user lib...
Thanks @Launchpadforios , great app...and we love you
yep definitely needed.. the thing is this is one of the areas Novation are experts in...sometimes it feels condescending making these basic 101 request, they know better than we do that we need this.
We hear you. We're still motoring quickly through features right now, and whilst we were pleased to get user libraries out pretty quickly, we understand there is still more to do. There are about 100 things we'd like to do right now, and as we roll out new features from here, the prioritisation will be really tough. Especially, with our upcoming two releases coming out over the next few weeks, you'll see why we've been busy.
It definitely drove me crazy. To the point I deleted all my samples. I'll just wait to see if they enable it at some point. For now bloc's has been temporarily removed off my rotation of apps I use regularly. Between the swipe to play and the cluttered user library it kinda ruined my inspiration
Just waiting to see what future updates bring. It just might get used again in an update or two
keep the faith gents, they really do know what they're doing, I always try to keep that in mind when thinking about the app.
+1,000
Looking at the sort order of imported/flattened clips it looks like they just need to implement a 'sort-category filter'.
Give the user options to sort the imported/flattened clips using date/a-z/category (and date / a-z within each category when category is selected).
Still have not bought Blocs Wave, but maybe there will someday be a way to chromatically piano-play the samples in addition to just re-arranging the loops?
@Samu a way to piano play the samples would be a nice touch/ feature to add at some point.
I think we have faith in abundance, and while there are many (some simple, some not) requests, I'm also pretty sure that most folks are happy to know that any particular dev is at work rather than not. Triage is a very particular thing
This app seems to have quite a lot of the capabilities of the ACID product family by Sony. I understand we can import our own loops. Will this app work with Sony ACIDized loops? There are TONS and TONS of ACIDized loops available. Also, what formats are imported into our personal user library? WAV files are huge... are there other accepted formats that use less space? @Launchpadforios or anyone who knows...
I think it was mentioned on this forum somewhere that Blocs accepted Acid loops - either that or Apple Loops - can't remember which ..

Has anyone found a manual? I'm not sure what "Flatten" does...
No manual as far as I'm aware, Flatten will render your sample, complete with edits to a new file and then load that file onto your pad.
Cool, thanks!!
Thanks! So does anyone know for sure whether it will allow ACIDized loops, or does it just use Apple Loops?
Acidized loops are WAV files that can be read and used in any application. But they have pitch data and tempo data attached as metadata that can be read within ACID. To my understanding, if you aren't using ACID, the files are just normal WAV files.
When you add the pitch data and tempo data to your own loops within Blocs Wave, you are essentially making your own "acidized" loops.
@Launchpadforios Am I right about this?
Have people been using Apple loops in Blocs Wave?
Where is the slip-wrap function... ???
This and the ability to export all 'loops' + 'slice phrases' in Audioshare at once would make this app so usefull !!!
May my dream come true at some point... Please say YES !
Peace.
It does this already doesn't it ? Use export on top right of screen, then you have options of exporting a mix or pads ?
