Thank you very, very much, @MusicInclusive, for your testing with the iCA4+ and IOS 9.3 and communicating the results, etc. I have only one setup (iPad Air IOS 8.4, PC with Windows 7 and the iCA4+) and with every IOS-update i hestitate a lot...
Now that i updated to El capitan..... it works everything again. Can´t believe it. Airdrop works now. And i finally can just plug my iPhone into the macbook and open it as audio device in Logic without any app or additional hardware. That will bring my iOS apps to new life and i can finally import some samples easy into Mitosynth.
So far i´m happy.....and my macbook feels even a bit faster and more smooth yet.
But there must be something wrong.......i will find it
My first update since 8.2! Everything seems to be in order. I was able to connect it to my Zoom R8 and playback just fine.
Interesting is since iOS 9.3. everytime i put in the headphones i can open Mitosynth from the locking screen. There is a little icon in the left down corner. I can slide from there up. Same as with the camera.
But it works just with Mitosynth so far?!?
I've upgraded to 9.3 on my iPhone 5, and although I surely don't put this stuff through the paces that a good number of you do... what little I've used it (beyond the new interfaces) there is yet to be any hiccups.
Not music related but the dictionary no longer works since I updated.
Has iOS 9.3 been pulled for iPad Air? I see an update is available but when I click it it says iOS 9.2.1 is up to date.
The same for me: when I try to update from IOS 8.4 it gives 9.2.1 as the latest update...
Yes, for some older devices. They started distributing a new 9.3 build w/o that stupid activation bug. So, we just need to wait

Thx for the quick replies guys/gals
Didnt update yet!
I've seen a number of posts about 9.3 running well with the Mini2. Does that have the same specs as the iPad Air 1? I'm running the original Air on 8.4.1 and have been hesitant to upgrade to 9.x due to reports of sluggishness, but will go to 9.3 if this latest update addresses those issues.
A mini 2 is essentially the same spec as an Air 1 @peanut_gallery but is 0.1GHz slower. Your Air 1 should be OK. 9.3 is IMO the best iOS version we have had since 7.1.2. (See my previous posts above).
Thank you @MusicInclusive ! I'll be updating this weekend. Looking forward to some of those new iOS 9.x only apps and updates.
It looks like Apple did pull the 9.3 update. I updated my wifes iPad Air 1 yesterday from 9.2.1 to 9.3 and it went through. Now I tried to update mine, same Air 1 and it says it is up to date on 9.2.1. I wonder if the 9.3 had bugs or something.
By chance are you using an external audio interface running at 48k when this happens?
An unexpected - yet expected - bonus with 9.3: GB now has the iPhone upgrade with the new capabilities, something I'd forgotten about since before upgrading. Whether I use them or not is the $64,000 question, but there it is!
No, 44.1k.
That article isn’t entirely accurate. The iPad 2 isn’t “bricked”. It’s updated successfully, then unable to reach the server to authenticate. Secondly, the article isn’t accurate in that even with the correct login and password for the correct apple ID, it still fails to authenticate. It seems that it’s not even touching the authentication server, simply timing out eventually due to inaction, each time in exactly the same way.
Bricked, in the terms I’m familiar with, means totally unserviceable without intervention by JTAG, or similar, and not something that can be consumer recovered.
The dictionary issue appears to have resolved itself. Better than ever now!
The icon on the left bottom of the lock screen is based on what you were doing last time the change you just made was being used. For example when I get in the car and bluetooth connects the music app I listened to last (Rhapsody) time I was using bluetooth is shown there. The feature falls under the category of Handoff in Apple newspeak. Handoff icons are usually used when switching between iDevices to keep working on the same app, but the icons are also used when switching the mode of use of a single iDevice. All that to say that it's not just a Mitosynth thing, or even just an audio thing. It's just the phone trying to be helpful about what you might want to do given the context. Doubleplusgood
I just got notification of a 9.3 update on my phone. I already have 9.3 with no issues so this must be a new build to correct the issues some are having. FYI
Addressing this to anyone really... So is Alchemy holding up?
Well, I suppose if it wasn't someone would have posted. I just don't want to be the one to discover a problem.
Happen to have been using Al a lot in the past 48 hours (it's not that I forget how good it is; it's just better than I seem to remember). Had no problems. Some crashing out when copying to Auria, but I've been having that for a while and it starts right back out again....
Yes, it's definitely a new update. Yay! I finally succeeded in updating to 9.3 in my 3rd attempt
(it's not that I forget how good it is; it's just better than I seem to remember).
We're not slow learners, we're quick forgetters.
Addressing this to anyone again... What about inter app audio? I know Alchemy has it's own little recording function, but it's especially useful to plug it into Cubasis for example, to use Alchemy with midi.
Using it this very second (before I was so rudely interrupted! ) with AUM. Works fine. No problems. A couple of days ago with the same app it didn't load the first time but just popped it open and closed it again (as suggested) and it was fine thereafter.
I understand your cautiousness. If anything Al seems to be working more smoothly now than for a while, but this might just be that I am right in amongst it etc. Hold on a sec., let me open up Auria...
Imagines you pouring tea, tapping your fingers, polite but impatient...
Interesting. Didn't like it direct as an IAA, but no problems at all recording via AB.
Air 1/latest.
I use Alchemy to Cubasis via IAA a lot, using the pads in Cubasis to record midi, so yeah this is a red flag for me.
