  • Anyone know what the sale price for egoist is? It's showing as 19.99 in US store but that sounds like regular price.

I think it was 30$ @ regular price

  • Hmmm, cyclop or Modstep, that is the question...

all depends on what you want but Modstep is a fresh new world of how to do things which is exciting. As for the learning curve I found after about two to three dedicated hours it all just started to rapidly click together and I could get the underlying thinking of all the components. So looking forward to the update.

As for cyclop it is crazy cpu hungry and does not play very well with others on my air1.

19.99 is not the regular price of egoist (I can't remember it because I got it on sale when it came out)

Egoist is great in the context of AUM!

OH? Hmm, I have yet to dive into AUM. I was using egoist a lot with Modstep which was awesome.

Love Egoist and love AUM, but haven't used them together (yet). What are you finding?

It sync perfectly via IAA (as long as you don't change the tempo while playing) and respond to the play button in AUM, I use it mostly as a drum machine.
Thesys works perfectly in AUM too ;)

  • Egoist sequenced by modstep and tweeked through AUM is a lot of fun.

Wow, yes that is multo fun.

  • Sweet! It's xmas in March! I didn't think I'd get a chance to get Egoist for $20 for another year! Wowhooo look at me saving 10 bucks

  • Is Cyclop worth it? Looks interesting...

    Mos def!

  • I was very disappointed with cyclop, I think I was excited because it was a port from the desktop.

Now I love DNB so I thought with the modulation capabilities of cyclop would be right up my street but I just think the synth engine is just a bit lame. Not to keen on the filters either.

  • I got the Looperator VST on the last sale. So good! Sure hope it hits ios!

  • Are the apps cheaper within Auria? I don't remember what the prices were.

Agreed on the lame synth engine. And it doesn't even go below a c1 or thereabouts! For a mono bass synth it's a piece of crap.

That said, I'm interested in Effectrix. It seems like a more in-depth Kuvert by Klevgrand. Am I right in my impression?

  • Cyclop can't be approached the same way as a traditional (osc+filter) synth. It is its own thing and its forte is modulation/fx chaos. It will never do as a bread and butter synth, but works well as a spice. It takes more time (and a bit of luck) to get something out of it, but it can deliver awesome sounds that can't be made elsewhere. Not my favorite, but I'm glad I have it.

Hmmm, sounds like a fair description. I really dig it for egoist and patterning running in modstep.

I think this is very fair.

The Auria IAPs just send you to the app store to buy the regular versions, and once you have them that automatically unlocks the Auria plugin versions, which is pretty cool. So just buy the regular versions on the app store and you get the Auria plugs as well.

  • Can anyone tell me the settings I need to run Egoist in AUM. Can't figure it out.

    Ok sorted :)

  • @Fruitbat1919 - Well, share then. What are the magic settings for Egotist?

Just set external clock source and host start on The Egoist tab.

  • @Fruitbat1919 - Thanks. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

  • I am debating getting egoist and/or cyclop.

I seem to think i have other stuff that sort of sounds like cyclop. I have FM4, TeraSynth, iMS20 and iDS10.

But I dont think i have anything like Egoist on my iPad.

Can anyone who uses Cyclop comment on how good and different it is compared to the ones above. Just curious.

Completely different sound to Korg , good for growly noises . Not just bass good for leads and pads too. I like it :))
