this will be my may song, i couldnt wait to do it. but i changed up alot of things and sllowed it down

  • 2nd bout of feedback:

Something of an unusual mix, I felt the drums could be a bit more driving. The leads are nice, but perhaps a tad high in the mix (1:20 ish). The chord sequence is a bit static too, but nicely jolly..

Catchy indeed, has a certain charm. Curious as to how it could be developed into a longer track, seems to just get going in the latter part, I like the chords at the end. .

Interesting to hear an acoustic track amidst all the other electronica. Guitar playing timing is a bit loose, but I would imagine that's part of the performance / feel. Strong vocal delivery.

A more coherent production in my view than your other submissions. Is that a strummed ukelele ? - country iOS as a genre :) The double tracking on the vocal works well overall but on certain sections where it isn't present, it sounds a bit abrupt and the timing meanders on occasion. At 3:13 ish there's too much going on vocally, in my view.

Thanks for the notes. This def. needs a firm hand and a big stick and will, hopefully, get it...

  • @JohnnyGoodyear, that is a great little tune. Not much point in criticizing the mix or arrangement, as it's just a sketch. But what a great starting point. It's got a very nice feel, very laid back. Uke sounds great, and works with your voice nicely. Finish it proper.

Thank you sir. I will do my best.

  • Sorry feller, you did say that it was a uke in your post, so it was fatuous of me to ask - mea culpa.

  • This is my band playthrough video using bias amp and final touch for record with garageband on my iPad air 2. And of course with the greatest recording audio apps audiobus, check out guys thanks  try to keep it roll guys

Thanks for your comment, v kind. The vocals in the verse (not my finest effort, but all done first take) are just put through the Vinyl Saturator preset in Saturn (with the drive cranked up a bit) just to make them a bit grittier, and in a vain attempt to get the to blend into the mix a bit better. The chorus is almost completely dry with a tiny bit of reverb. The filtered vocal in the end is just a bit of chorus effect on Timeless, and I agree that it sounds q nice. If I ever went back to this I would probably make more use of it. Thanks again.

Just wanted to pull this out again and mention that while I haven't recorded/mixed anything with Timeless/Chorus (there's lots of choices therein), I have been fiddling with it some and it does really seem to add/help.

Love those effects, seems like I never get any bloody time to use them these days. Hope that Circuit is working out well too
