@Bluepunk loved this one mate. The slower paced riff was great and the vocals were just right. If anything I would have brought in the ' let's have it' refrain a bit earlier and repeated it a few more times. One of my life's great regrets was that I was 15 going on 16 when punk broke in 1977 but I went right on listening to Yes and ELP.

Thanks very much @orchardman. Not only for your kind words but for turning the heat up on that beautiful yellow sun down here this morning!

Yep, I did toy with dropping that part in a tad more & take a verse out. I've got to be careful though as when I approach the 3 minute mark, my "Punk Time Alert" splits my ears & warns of approaching prog rock time mode.

I've got a monumental back catalogue of punk if you'd like to get into it now
    Cheers & enjoy the Sun.

Thanks for the offer of the punk but I think those days are behind me. I am more into americana now, very sad I know, but you can't beat a bit of banjo and a little fiddle every now and again.

As far as my weather god status goes, I was going to post this one on here next month but than I thought it might fuck up our summer.

  • @NoiseHorse first. Love your name & an interesting reason why (sure I read on another thread). Song.......charming sir. There's a vulnerability....a freedom in the way you've crafted this. Picked straight up on the drums. It sounds like the snare is hitting just, just behind the beat although it could be my shot ears. This so fits into the feel & delivery of your tune. Again, a casual, in total control feel. It's like the drummer is rolling a ciggy with one hand whilst grooving with the other. (Don't try this at home kids........your blim will end up all over the bass drum pedal
Enjoyed those chords in the break at 1.50 to 2.05 & the line "Butterflies dancing on the beach." Sums up your song sir. It could be tightened up in some places but it's wispiness is part of its charm. Nice one.

Bloody hell...this is good. Save it for next month! Great to hear you singing lead. Quite a growl you have. Excellent. Do you wanna job? The title is apt & marries with the dark, trudging through wet streets intro & overall feel. Different, effective & again.....Save it. Worthy of full reviews next month. You may be right though.....as I play this, the one cloud up there moved on top of my gaff! How the hell do you do that?????
    Thanks for sharing.

  • @achromus
Soo sweet! I was pretty disturbed by how the beat dropped in out of the blue tho.

  • @carol All I can say about this is well done. Its really not my cup of tea musically and because of that I'm not worthy to offer any advice.I mean no disrespect by that.Im working my way through the tracks and I didn't want you to think I'm ignoring yours. :)

So yeah, making music of any sort is a labour of love and I'm sure that your hard work will be much appreciated by the fans of this genre.

  • @mschenkel Hey there,I love the launchpad app! I had a lot of fun about a year ago writing a song to the retro 80's pack! Is the comp over? How did you do? Anyway,I love the kick you're using in this track. As I said to a friend of mine, how people do all this stuff live is beyond me,so kudos for that. There's lots of little interesting things happening as the track evolves but I have to say that I prefer more meat on my bones when it comes to "moments" in a track.Theres just not quite enough going on for my personal taste.Im sure others will love it though. And as I said to Carol I mean no disrespect, this is just not my type of music.
Goodluck in the comp though! :)

  • @theconnactic Hello mate,Another cool track by your good self.Lots of interesting things going on with a great hooky main theme.Really well mixed mate. You are a really talented dude, that's for sure.

Now this isn't a nit,I'm just bringing it to your attention, but listening on my headphones at 2.49 I thought my smoke alarm had gone off in my left ear.The flute is a little abrupt there is what I'm trying to say....or maybe my smoke alarm did go off...wait...it's got real warm all of a sudden! ;)

Really good work man! Now last thing,on your soundcloud picture you are clearly singing??
Why have we not heard that yet?? Next month I want vocals man! ;)

@achromus liked that a lot. It's got a real nice vibe right from the start and keeps going right to the end. Great chill out for someone like me who is up way to early on a Saturday morning.

Thanks. I was up early too but finally went to sleep :)

That was a consequence of mixing 4/4 with 3/4. Pretty random. I thought I'd leave it as the result was 'characterful' but here's a much more stable 3/4 version which is probably better

  • @badrico Hey man, well I have to say that's the weirdest title for a song I've seen in a while! :D I actually really enjoyed your track mate, although with a title like that I was really hoping to see some different chicks on the beach!! B)
I thought the track developed nicely and had some nice melodies.A very happy song! Maybe the drums could have been mixed a little better though? Just a thought, keep or sweep.
    Nice work mate!

  • @orchardman First off,cool picture/artwork! :)

Your wife sounds great! I love the effects you've put on her voice,it kinda glides,it's cool!

I love the bass line,it glues everything together nicely.Youve done some great vocal tricks on this track, very cool stuff.Nicely mixed as always.

    Really good track.

  • @Richtowns Hey man,I liked your track although it did repeat quite a lot.(might be what you were going for so please ignore if that's the case) Weirdly I didn't pick up the reggae vibe at all?? It's probably just me but I'm with Orchardman, maybe some offbeat guitar strums would reinforce the genre your going for? I did like the whole vibe of the track though mate.

  • @funjunkie27 hello mate, well this is a good starting point for something for sure.Drums are very quiet to my ears. Not much more to add really as it's essentially 2 mins of the same thing.I like that it's so fast but it def needs some variation to keep the listener interested. :)

  • @crouchie I love it mate! No nits from me.Great harmonies, melodically unpredictable but awesome! And I love, love, love the music! Well done dude! :)

  • @noisehorse Hey man,Well firstly let me say that I enjoyed this song. The hook works nicely. You sing it well. And I hope you got lucky for it! ;) However my problem lies in the production. You have the right instruments and the talent to play/program them well but I think you need to decide what you want to catch people's attention the most the music or the vocals? Because right now they are in a wrestling match and it's hard to focus on one without the other trying to interrupt. If you have a fast kinda vocal melody, then IMO the music needs to be slow and stay out of the way and vice versa. In this song the music is just too busy for the vocal.

I hope this helps mate and I reiterate that the hook is cool!

  • @bluepunk Thanks for your message mate.

I was wondering if you do kids parties? It's my boys 1st birthday soon and you could sing
"Happy f@cking birthdayaaah!!" Hahaa! But no,on a more serious note...Disneys wondering why you won't return their calls??!! :D

I loved this track, and as I said on it,your vocal delivery is superbaaah!! No nits from me.
    Great job!

  • Hey, @LostBoy85: thank you so much!

  • @theconnatic your welcome...now sing for me damn it!!!! Haha! :D

  • @achromus Hey there,Well this is really quite pleasant ear candy.I love that bass...what is it if I may ask? I got some crackles through on my Sony Mdrs?? I'm not sure if that was intentional? Anyway it didn't stop me really enjoying the track.Lovely work mate.

  • The bass is from the Phoenix instrument in Korg Gadget. If you are referring to the crackles from around 1.08 - yes they are intentional. Thanks for the nice comments.

  • Ok,put me in coach!! :) Well this is an entry for me AND my main man @Matt_Fletcher_2000.

We started this project a couple of months ago when Matt approached me with a musical sketch with a vocal melody (yes, the melody is all his! Makes a nice change:) ) I wrote some lyrics and we figured out the music and production together from there.Ive wanted to do a song with Matt for months so this has been super cool...waaaay cooler than the phrase "super cool"!!! :D

We would love to hear any feedback you have regarding the track.

    Cheers guys
    Leo B)

  • @LostBoy85 nice song and with a great production and vocal. Personally I would of preferred a little bit less electronic instrumentation with maybe a real bass and guitars to give it a rockier feel as I think this song would really work like that.

    Great job!

A very Happy Birthday to your wee son. Special time. Positive he will have a glittering singing/musical career ahead. Well, he's got a pro singster dad as a coach so half way there already.

I'm happy you liked the tune & vocals appear to be improving slowly......very slowly.

Ah Disney! I can't return their calls as its a conflict of interests. Hannah-Barbara have asked me for a soundtrack for their remake of "Top Cat." I shouldn't divulge the story line but I can say that it's a pretty dark affair. In it, Bennie the Ball & Choo Choo are drug addicted wide boys & Officer Dibble is deep in shite for taking back handers to keep quiet about the new Red Light district in town. He would! He visits there every night. Some strange fetish he has but you'll have to wait & see what it is!

Looking forward to hearing your new track later. Ooh, the collaboration sounds very interesting.......

Thanks mate :)) I'm not really aiming for a genre , but the type of music I make seems to fit in one so I'm happy some people seem to like it lol

When my aum setup stops playing up then I've got some new ideas to record , more rhythmic than my normal mind curtains so looking forward to that

  • hola,
here’s some beat mirage, a collision of patterning, triq traq, aum and some ableton keys I could not resist.

    cheers, badrico

  • @achromus Anything that messes with the timing senses is already onto a winner. I love the two different time signatures you've used here. That's a gorgeous bass drum sound by the way. The thump is felt & not just heard. From the wavy, dreamy intro to the deep bass to the jagged bits (sorry, I'm not too fluent yet with the technical stuff) that produce the clever melody. All are welcome & as others have said....ear candy indeed.
The length of your tune is perfect. Leaves me satisfied with the experience but always keeping/allowing enough room for a cheeky snack & listen again before bed. Back to the time sigs.......it works for me. Adds an edge. An unexpected twist. Real tidy there sir.

  • @trackedout Welcome riffster! Your song excited me full stop. Those dirty guitar riffs at 1.00 & 2.20 are ace. They got inside my "musical Filth (capital F required) receptors" & I couldn't shift em on. Great stuff. What effect(s) have you used on your vocal? They remind me of the way Grohl delivers them on "White Limo." Like a heavily distorted megaphone. Please, just whack them up a bit cos I'm sure I can hear pain, sadness even anger in places & I wanna know what the story is! That's a cracking ending as well. No messing around. See ya!
See you've covered most am/pm sounds of each day on your Soundcloud. If you ever need some sounds of a Monday Morning, I've made a recording of some..........yawn, grump, groan, creak, moan & "where's my f.....g socks gone.....I'm late for work."
    Hope you find your cans.
