And it makes me happy!
Nice move David.
Haha, cheers Morris
THATS RIGHT EVERYONE! ROLL UP ROLL UP!
v3.4 update:
_- Ableton Link integrated! Go to Settings, Ableton Link, to enable.
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/jam-maestro-guitar-tab-sequencer/id596628003?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4
The other big feature in this update is automation support so you can now automate tempo/volume/balance control as your track plays.
Put the app on sale at 30% off for a limited time, and JM Lite (which includes Link support) is also free right now!
(feel free to edit your title to include that titbit if you like russ )>
Ha...guess I got too excited about Link and missed the automation add David. I'm liking what I've seen of that. Great job on the update!
Thanks matey!
Very cool. Can you suggest the best of the videos that are out there for a n00b to get going with this app. Gets love from all those who mention it, but feel I would need a little help to get going etc.
@JohnnyGoodyear the 'How to make a metal song in 5 minutes' is pretty much an overview of all the main features in the app, and shows how the app is intended to be used. Covers a lot quite quickly though so make sure you pay attention. Its essentially a compressed version of the 'Getting started tutorial' [12 mins] I made when the first version came our 3 years ago, so if you still didn't get it after watching the first video you can always watch that as it goes at a nicer pace and features narration for yours truely. Apologies in advance for the old school graphics though!
Brilliant. Thanks so much. I shall try to do your app justice
Buying this now for sure and thanks Mr Goodyear for asking that question.
This will be helpful for me as well! Had the app for quite a while, but I don't know it well enough to be dangerous yet.
If you're a guitarist with a background using guitar tablature, this app will be heaven for you. Even if you don't read tablature, the fretboard playing surface is very accessible. Not to mention the excellent drums, MIDI out, and so much more.
@Seangarland I am no guitarist Mister Sean, nor do I know a lick of tablature (the nature of Indian percussion?), but I'm running iSymphonic as an IAA and playing on that very old-school-look keypad double-up as one can choose to do I'm absolutely blown away by the facility here and how it's taking a brilliant sound (Full brass and strings with Cathedral 3 reverb) and allowing me to really play like it sounds in my head for the first time. Straight out via AB no messing about, no lagging on this Air1, all good. Let alone I'm sure there's a way to have it write up the notes for me (technical term), but for now I don't care....really terrific.
I've had this app forever and have never really used it. Thanks Johnny for asking the right questions because I have no idea how I missed the videos. It all explains it now, time to get using the app instead of ignoring it.
Sweet! Hadn't used JM in a while and found myself using it two nights in a row this week. Congrats and thank you @JamMaestro.
Don't know why I didn't already own this. Rectified
>
Might I proffer this vid from David? It's the one that sold me on this extremely capable app as a necessary piece in my iOS toolkit
@JohnnyGoodyear yeah you can play multiple apps at once using dual mode too! And if you start recording before you do you can record everything you press straight to tab and play it back after and see what you like best
@eustressor haha man, took me quite a while to nail a perfect take on that one !!
Everyone else, thanks!
Can i contol it with Navichord?
Haven't tried Navichord but I don't see why not. I just downloaded Navichord Lite and see that the full supports IAA and midi out, so either should work fine with JM.
Thank you Mister.
It didn't work with JM lite. Even though I enabled to listen to midi. I'm not using a midi controller only Navichord with the midi out sending to JM.
@JamMaestro I have to tell you I love this as a writer. So much more straightforward than, say, a Notion. Which I admire, but is mostly too rich for my simple blood.
Midi In is disabled in JM Lite, where did you enable it? If you are referring to 'Listen for Global Midi Messages' that is only used when 'Enable dedicated midi controller' is enabled, which shouldn't be possible. However I admit that is pretty ambiguous, I should make it so you can't even toggle that 'Listen for Global Midi Messages' switch as its confusing.
Exactly why I've always adored this gem! I learned tablature before I could actually play a lick on the guitar
@JohnnyGoodyear & @TGiG yeah I hate messing around with crotchets and rests and all that stuff when it's not really necessary as far as guitar is concerned. Its what inspired me to make my own app in the first place
I'd love to see a mode where you can enter tab notes via step entry (as is now) that would auto advance to the next step (where the user can set the step size). I was doing a lot of arpeggios in the app and auto-advance would have cut the tapping by 2/3 (note, right, right). Or an arp mode.
This using strum mode would be superb.
+1
I would. Like a strumming generator with ability to randomize the strums.
You know there is a 'sweep' fret release mode right? That kind of does this, but more for playing live...
