  • This is imo by far the most important update this app has had, this makes it probably the best tool for building complete tracks on iPhone, I could now easily do everything completely on my iphone if I choose to.

  • Would like to see Panning and also some sort of level meter per clip , may be in the volume control for the clip on the edit page.
    Other than that super update.

    Excellent update!
    Thanks @Launchpadforios

I feel bad about requesting features from such a hardworking team but also + 1 for panning, user folders and deactivating factory content please :)

  • I'm finding it quite difficult to get a smooth transition when triggering sections . Without a timeline progress bar it's tricky knowing where you are sometimes - a section arranger or the previous suggestion of sections not playing until they reach the end if the current section would help , and make a great future update :))

Seconded (for the third time? :))....

  • @Launchpadforios just out of curiosity whats in the pipeline for Launchpad App

  • What a fun app! Sections isn't what I expected. Still useful. Nice to have different looped parts available at once to try things out.

Users here have different priorities. Most important to me...I'd like to see Sections used for song building and sequencing. Each section is an independent part with its own key. There's a play button to simply play each section one after the other, each section given a number of times to loop before moving to the next. If you want to get more ambitious (and with a song page,) the ability to arrange the sections any way we want.

For live performance---option to play through to end of loop before switching or switch immediately, and remote switching via MIDI.

As is, I can export things to other apps to build something out of the parts.

Thanks for your dedication to making this great app.

  • Great stuff and sorry for repeating this but please
    MIDI sync/start stop.
    (Link is overrated!)

Well said. Right balance of 'thank you' and 'but also' :) My first reaction to Sections was/is that for many of us who sometimes struggle with having made 30 seconds of lovely but now what might be helped herein. A further realized song mode (even a simple one; looking at DM1 and Beathawk etc) would be lovely....but for now, very happy to keep noodling about....

Thanks. I find what I like to do is get a nice thing going in BW and then play over it using an expressive app like GeoShred, iFretless, GB... Of course it reaches a point where I want to move on from that same loop.

Building complete song arrangements might be asking too much, but if BW could sequence 6 different sections automatically without having to switch apps, that's exponentially more powerful for my noodling.

    Okie noodling?

  • One sample pack donation made for panning, one for folders, release another and I'll buy for pitch per slice. Really though, this app and the updates so far are very B)

  • One of my favorite Apps. Immensively fun app.

  • @Launchpadforios- Is import from music library feature live now as well? Don't forget one of your core user bases are DJS / remixers so this should be a feature implemented asap. In fact, you should also go visit the Djtechtools forum and I'm sure you'd get a lot more insightful feedback.

  • Great update, just what I needed to flesh out my ideas from bars to tunes.
Yes agreed, Im going to buy another sample pack too,
Im hoping this will get midi triggering. Ableton Link is the superglue for collaboration amongst musicians but midi is the bedroom rocker's bread and butter.

  • Is there a way to quantize the section transitions? I'm used to working that way.

Thanks a lot for this update... Bloc waves is one of my favourites music app on iOS since its initial release.

I could not try the updated version yet but it seems that it does not include the "slip-wrap" functionnality that I'm dreaming about since I bougt the app on its initial version realease date...
Do you confirm ? And do you know when it will be available (I'm sorry to keep asking for this, but this app could be fullfill all my main needs in musical creation with this simple add on, allowing to synch loops together...)

Edit : How do other people do to synch their loops together ? Do they go back and forth from Bloc Waves to Okusai (or other sample editor) to try to edit the samples and have the good synch ? Do they only used iap loops made for the app ?... Within my workflow, without the "slip-wrap" functionnality, the app is not able to reach half of its potential, which sucks as it seems to be a simple functionnality to add... Am I wrong ?

If you have a 1 bar loop, then create a sample of it that is 3 bars long, load that into wave, set the loop points to match the middle of the 3 bars, then use slip to get your timing.
Once you have your timing set, use the flatten function to trim the ends off that you no longer need.

    Hope this helps

Normally I am not on the fence with a $10 app but my only interest is in loading it up and organizing it with my own loops prerecorded from my Circuit and VST plugins.

Is it really as bad as people say?

It's not bad at all , I'm using my own loops and I love it :))

Well if Carol loves it I'm in.

By no interpretation of the meaning of the word bad is that a correct description.

I am recording circuit and IAA's/Au's.....I could not go back to not having blocs wave.

hmmm it is pretty neat. the file management doesnt seem as 'bad' as it sounded from some, but maybe with an army of loops it gets cumbersome? Anyway, loaded four loops in and it is nice to have an easy on the go multiloop random chopper. it really leaves me wanting pitch per slice and effects like Egoist though... would be nice to have an option to change sections upon section end.

  • if you think it's great now, wait til it has panning, filter, and eq... heads will explode.

  • Awesome update, getting more and more useful by the day.

    Request in order of importance:

    • Option to lock the key of a section.
That would make possible to experiment with some chord progressions.

    • Quantization on triggering/changing clips

    • Improved user library
    • Mass export
    • Major keys
  • ^^nice request, (hopefully multiple quantize resolutions)

    • Mass export

Yah this point is huge for me.

This is a nice mobile slicer sketchpad, not something to make perfect pearls, so I want to dump lots of miscelaneous ideas to my PC for further editing later. All blocs and all sessions should be exported as one zip file. Right now export is a somewhat annoying bottleneck of tapping each bloc, hitting export, selecting wav, choosing audioshare, tapping back to blocs, rinse repeat, get distracted by someone, scream, come back, find where I was, rinse, repeat etc...

The export should be three or four taps and not 364 taps (actual math!).

You can't yet export the entire project (all sections) but you can export all pads from a section at once. You do not need to export each pad individually.

Use the 'Share' button that is top right of the app, then select wav and then select pads, after export you get the copy to dialogue with Audioshare, Dropbox etc....

Well sheet! I am an idiot yet again. i didnt realise 'pads' were the thing, I thought these were blocs. thanks homee!
