We've kept this under our hats for a while, but today we're super thrilled to announce the biggest update to Launchpad for iOS since it was originally released.
Today, we publicly release Version 2.0 (yes we waited over 2 years for version 2). The highlight features are as follows:

does this mean you can mix and match loops of different tempos and pitches together, if so can you change the time and pitch of the individual clips in realtime or is it only a global kind of thing?

You can change the tempo of the whole project globally in real time, it is there to allow proper Link sync to be implemented.
I'm looking at Link working in this app as a huge new feature FOR BLOCS....

If only we could import miltiple samples at once in launchpad either from AS or blocs, would be awesome

You CAN via dropbox....using the bulk export in wave (top right share icon), you can export to drop box, put them in the bpm or bar labelled folders in LP and then import in bulk.

Maybe just an obvious thing that I just found out. If there's no Wifi to connect your Iphone and your Ipad you can still share the internet connection from one device to the other one and the link it also works!
Also tried to link it with Impc Pro and works great!

Exactly what iOS Launchpad needed! It was only a few weeks ago I realised this was the best platform for developing the loops I was making in Figure. But the lack of Ableton Link and the fact it could only MiDI master but not slave meant it's usefulness was severely limited and my enthusiasm dropped like a stone. Now though I can put Launchpad back amongst my serious tools.
I have no interest at all in the loop packs, only to put my own loops and sketched ideas into a DJ context within my live set up.
The quiet was deafening from you guys especially as Bloc Waves was continually being expanded but this update is wonderful news!
I may even buy the remaining add ons now to complete it. Bravo!

This looks fantastic. But am I being weird that I have resisted this app because it's free? I keep thinking that it requires some desktop software or midi hardware...or the endless purchase of loops. But am I wrong?

I always thought Launchpad would be great if I could only sync it to DJ software. With Ableton Link feature I can do that DJing with Ableton. Can't wait to try this out.
There are DJ style effects in the video that I can't find on the App.

i've had issues with the direction of this app and I've deleted this until now (too aimed at loop purchasing which I don't need) but I've finally bought the import samples in app purchase. This update definitely makes it a different animal than before. So I hope Novation continue with this in the direction they are also taking Blocs....
