Nuno, pls, I don't know if it has been asked already. There's any way to export the presets without jailbreaking?

Cloud preset syncing. You just need to create an account on another device and sync. Have you tried that?

I'm thinking most of us would love to see an option to 'export' presets & banks so they could be uploaded to dropbox for sharing or simply saved somewhere else as backups..

The standard 'share sheet' would be enough as it would allow us to send a preset or bank anywhere we like usin 'Open In...'

The presets / banks could be exported as *.zip files...

    Precisely! ;)

  • I worked out why I was under the impression midi learn wasn't included.

I highlighted the midi icon, but ergonomically the first controls I tried to assign were the two PWM controls but nothing was happening.

Turns out you can't midi learn these unless the square wave is selected.

Makes sense when playing. Maybe not so much when midi learning.

    Anyway, glad it's there.

    Thanks.

It was already fixed. Next version will have it! ;)

    @sinosoidal ,

    Wishlist:

    1. Finger keying or typing for DRC tempo.

    2. A new ramp down sawtooth waveform for LFO

    3. Menu bar for selecting waveforms, or a knob method.

    Nuno, Thank you.

    1) and 3) on the latest beta (1.0.7). Looking forward for community feedback on this two items. Anyone that wishes to beta test, please send me a private message with the email. Thx!

Many users here have asked for downloadable manual. I have been thinking in this problem a bit and I have found a nice answer too it.

I have found a way of keeping the manual updated, online and downloadable at the same time. Plus, it is collaborative solution. The ones who think that can give a nice contribute to it, can submit changes for review.

We haven't finished it yet but we I will provide the link so you can have an idea of what is going on:

Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks!

An excellent move! One thing though, (and this applies to so many web resources, and it's more than just a little irritation for me, as I used to work in publishing, so I'll push for it) - include a dateline. In your intro, actually type the date (and city and author if you like) each time you amend it. I'd also suggest version numbering, but github does branches and the whole thing about versioning becomes non-linear, so perhaps git book may also have that feature, but the dateline thing (as a manual ritual) is quite a fun thing to remind oneself to do. It is like the live news reporter signing off.

Being that I am BETA testing this app pre release originally I should have known this..........

  • Was working on a patch while on the metro train, on the iPhone wow this synth is amazing.... The patch was silk strings made some tweaks and this thing really spooked me out, heard like some kind voice or something like that at first I thought it was noise from the other passengers but it was the synth almost speaking words. Weird but cool!

  • Great ideas about the user's user manual. Hopefully other devs will do this too. You guys really are innovators what with this and the free trail period.

  • Well this synth has definitely grown on me since I first picked it up, and I'm quite happy with that. I still find myself forgetting which parameters are mapped to which lfos, but having fun

Can't say I'm a big fan of the mod matrix either, but got to say the actual sound this app can make is beyond reproach. They really seem to know what they are doing :)

I've noticed that when modulating delay time with the lfo, it produces a popping sound with rapid changes, for example the sawtooth wave resetting to zero makes a pop. This makes it hard to get good shimmer or blurred effects as it produces a pop to a metallic note periodically.

We thought about this before releasing the synth. To get proper shimmer you have to use another delay line, modulated with an out of phase LFO wave, and crossfade between the two whenever the waveforms reset, avoiding the clicks, a la Digitech Whammy kind of pitch shifter effect. This was not implemented, because of the added complexity. It would represent another entire mode of operation to the delay module.

But we ended up integrating (smoothing the edges) a little bit the LFO before entering the delay. We fine tuned it so that you did't loose the ability to make a kind of ok shimmer effect, and still have nasty but cool glitch side effects of the abrupt time/pitch change.

  • Just about the only 'features' I miss in DRC are the option to use the envelope to control pulsewidth amount (just like the filter envelope can affect the filter amount) and ability to set the start-phase of the LFO (think modulating the pulse width with sine or tri wave and starting the modulation at the narrow end instead of center when the square is set at 50% duty cycle).

On the Moog Model 15 this can be done using 'clamping', ie it triggers the wave at a set start phase. Too bad Model 15 doesn't have an additional LFO or an additional OSC with clamping...

Do you have version 1.0.8? Version 1.0.7 had that problem. Please try the following. Delete app, restart device, install app again, go to menu, choose restore purchases. Some users had the same problem. Please note: save any interesting patches to cloud before doing this procedure as you will loose all local patches. Please keep me updated and sorry for the inconvenience.

No worries, will try that. :)
And thank you for prompt reply. Have nice weekend

    Thanks, that did it <3

  • There is still a little bug I mentioned earlier, can be reproduced 100% .(I just found the way)
Hold a note with one finger ,press and hold another and then swipe both fingers to an area outside the keyboard. Then the note remains pressed.
That was causing the issue I had when playing fast .

I was having the same problem, but now it is all cleared up.
A great synth with great support.

  • We are looking for stories about inspiring musical experiences with DRC. Who is available to answer a couple of questions on how DRC has influenced your creative process?

  • Hey guys! We have been really committed to release a new version of LK and TKFX. Now it is time to get back to DRC. We are currently testing a maintenance version of DRC, v1.0.9. What's new? Basically this:

    • New Factory Expansion bank in-app purchase (99 new sounds)
    • Added sustain pedal support.
    • Improved Chorder section. (finally fullscreen is allowed on both phone and tablet devices)
    • Improved Keyboard section on-screen keyboard touch handling and added the ability to add/remove keys while in hold mode. Added root key support. (much much better now)
    • Fixed a bug that would cause note releases not being handled properly in mono mode.
    • Fixed a bug that was causing VCA panel to behave like MOD panel on FILTER section. (I wonder why hasn't anyone reported this before!!!)
    • Fixed a bug that would cause status bar combobox to float around (this was a creepy one).

Who wants to join the beta testing?
