The question asked earlier: Is there a limit to the length of the samples. Has that been answered?

There is no limit. There is a bug that slipped through beta testing that can mess up some 24 bit files and some imported files but I fixed it already. I loaded whole songs on the pads to test it.

  • That's great to hear. OK, so this is basically an iMPC Pro but with AB support? Which sells me for sure.

Not to be reductive, Dreamless! I'm sure it's more than that.

But if I wanted to take pieces of a track — say a rambling racist stump speech by a pumpkin-flavored arsenic marshmallow, for example — and edit them onto pads and play live into Cubasis? BeatMachine is good for this?

  • It's actually much simpler than iMPC Pro - only 16 steps - but it is good for playing the pads live. Just save the kit after you get the sounds you want on the pads. Then you can recall it anytime.

  • Then I'll buy! Thanks.

  • I'll review but again :) and again....
    Great job!!!0

Thanks for the reviews. Remember, a bug fix will be out tomorrow, so if you want to leave a review you can wait until then

One question I forgot to ask. Anyway to batch import to all 16 pads?

Unfortunately not. One at a time the first time, then they can all be recalled at once.

Alas. Can you copy and drag from pad to pad? The trade-off for using it via audiobus is worth it....

None of that either, although that is something that I could add. The closest thing would be to press copy on one pad and then paste on another.

  • Nice update. Could we have sample folders?

  • I just tried to review the app (plan on giving it 5 stars), but it says I must "own or install" the app first. It is owned and installed. Could this possibly be a problem with the app store?

I get this sometimes when I try to rate an app I bought a 1000 years ago with another account...

Do you ever eventually get it going?

Only by signing back in with the old account...

Well the update finally came out today. If ya bought it, can you leave another review for me? It doesn't even have to be a good review, just something real to help balance out the couple of one star "this app SUX" reviews that apple refuses to remove. If you were beta testing it but don't own it, just send me an email through testflight and i'll send back a promo code for it.

Congrats on the release! Looking forward to playing with it.

You probably already know this but users with a promo code can't leave a review.

  • Folders - says the accountant

  • Hey I'm beta testing but I don't even have the option for colors

  • Yeah i'm going to add folder support and dropbox and iCloud I swear. The final beta has color options (and the one on the app store).

    Ten stars!

  • The bug fix came out already! Review times on the app store are less than one day now. Amazing.

Ah! This is my problem too!!! :-(

  • Going blind over here. Where's the copy out?

  • updated my review!

One wish though if someday possible, on the iPhone it would be awesome to have a full screen pads view so we don't have to scroll up or down as this would be so awesome for controlling other apps via the pads.

    5 Stars!!!

@Dreamless , I'm gonna buy it now. Does it play nice w Auria Pro?

Not sure, i tested it with Cubasis and MTDAW. You want a promo code so you can test it out and report your findings? I'd like to buy every app but some of the expensive ones are out of reach (for now anyway).

Works via AB into Auria Pro no problems. I know this because I still can't figure out how to copy/paste a loop or song out of BM so recorded a chunk instead. HOWEVER if I were you I'd stick with your offer to Mister @Telstar5, he's probably a lot more technical than me and may rootle around with AP further to see what else it may or may not do...

  • @dreamless Should add that I also tried it out via inserting as an IAA (not AB of course) and it worked well, kicked off by the Auria transport bar etc and recorded perfectly. The only initial glitch was it doesn't come up on the alphabetical list as Beat-Machine, but instead further down as PDS: Beat-Machine.

I then tried it directly on a midi track and it worked perfectly as well, which is nice. I should add that I am in the Official Idiot Squad for Midi which is proof that BM figured it all out for me. Impressive (to me anyways :)).

  • Release that sequencer please!
