Vote for your top 5 keyboard type synth apps

List them in order of 1st to 5th.
First gets 10 points. Then 8,6,4 and 2 points for Fifth place.

The app must be old currency synth of the analog, digital variety, but not so called romplers, organs, electric pianos etc. I will score, so ask if you are not sure if an app counts.

No multi synth apps counting. The synth in the app can count, so Dublin could count, but not Gadget. FabFilter Twin 2 can count, but not Auria.

No drum synths. No samplers but can include samples in use with synthesis. So iM1 would be OK, but Synthmaster player would not count (more romplers than synth). Animoog and wavetable synths count.

Ask if unsure

Mine are:

  1. Animoog
  2. WaveMapper
  3. Model 15
  4. IProphet
  5. Nlog Pro

Favourable mentions go to iM1, DRC, iSem and Mitosynth.

A lot of others get used as well but I would survive with just them.

    3. Eden (Nanostudio)
    4. Sunrizer

Are the four i open most often. Cassini or Nave after that, I think.

  • Interesting to see how many people rate Animoog higher than Model 15. Is it really that good? (I don't own either yet, so I'm curious).

  • Model 15
    Animoog
    Magellan
    Sunrizer
    Cyclop
    iM1

    In no particular order.

Tricky, as favourites come and go, and a lot depends on how they work in a current project. But, looking at what I'm enjoying at the moment:

    1. Model 15
    2. Thor
    3. iPolysix
    4. Nave
    5. Cyclop

With honorable mentions for iVCS3, iMS20, ISEM, Poseidon, Addictive and TC-11

I've probably got nearly every major synth app on the store, so any not listed have slipped from my attention for various reasons.

    1. Magellan
    2. iVCS 3
    3. DCR
    4. Model 15
    5. iSem

That's in order of my frequency of usage. To be honest the Gadget ones are there mainly due to convienience of being in Gadget. Otherwise I'd have probably, for pure sound, said Phase84, Thor, Z3ta, Alchemy.

I would say so, but it's pretty close, I got a lot of mileage out of Animoog and it still amazes, but I had some great sessions in Model 15 already maybe it's too soon maybe it will grow on me and outgrow my love for Animoog maybe moog will add some new modules to it that will take it to the top.

True. But it's awfully early. Seeing how this all pans out in a few days should be interesting. For example, I would have thought Thor would be beating Nave...much less Magellan...based on what I've been reading here over the years.
